    Hami Raid

Depending on date/time, I could bring my dark/mm for mito distraction and mass rez, or possibly my pain corrupter, if he gets high enough in time (currently level 42).
  2. I don't think it's possible to do it faster than 36 hours solo.
  3. So the twenty something stuff moves quickly on hero-side?
  4. For those of you that are playing or locking in levels under 30:

Do you find that items in the 20s sell? I'm sure globals and procs do fairly well the lower they are, but I can't imagine that other pool C's would move at all. And forget about pool A's at that level.

The stuff that I have listed on villain market in the 20s has sat there for a month, with the odd sale every week or two. The 30-something stuff sells in a couple of days or a week at worst. Is it just me?

I think that part of the divide between your perspective and Reiraku's is that there are objectively jerky players and subjectively jerky players. Objectively jerky players are those that not only defeat you, they also mock you and hound you incessantly. Most reasonable people would agree that a person like that is a jerk.

Subjectively jerky players are those that a certain player has taken offense to his actions, but other reasonable players do not find the actions to be jerky. The most common and frequently cited example is a PvPer that defeats a badger in a zone. The badger feels that the PvPer is a jerk for delaying his acquisition of the badge, but many reasonable players would think that merely defeating a player in a PvP zone, without additional verbal or other harassment, is merely playing the game as designed.

I believe Reiraku is saying that there are a few objectively jerky players, but the whole PvP community is being tagged as jerks based on other players subjective experiences.

If you could link me to the thread, I would be happy to read it and understand your point a little better. Absent that I have to go with my recollection and interactions in the game.

When the devs beta tested Recluse's Victory and gave everyone level 40 and enough cash to buy SOs, TONS of people liked it -- diehard PvPers, casual PvPers, even normally non-PvPers posted how much fun they had with that system.

Additionally, while it is true that most PvPers will want to have the "best" PvP character using the "best" powers and the "best" slotting, the largest, organized, and most competitive PvP occurred on the test server partly because players from all the different servers could compete and partly because players could have infinite access to the best IOs by copying over characters. (best is in quotes because it changes with the game and is subject to some varying opinions).

I will grant you, however, that there is a group of PvPers who feel that they have "worked" on creating the ultimate killing machine and don't want everyone to have what they have for free or to have their monster watered down.

But if there were an place in Praetoria where anyone could create a character, level it, slot it with SOs, and go into a PvP fight, I believe that even that group would be happily participate. That way they (and others) could keep their monster build for PvE and the other PvP zones but still have a way to compete with other players on relatively equal footing and without all the emotional baggage that comes from their beloved character, which they outfitted with all the most expensive goodies, getting two-shotted.

    Do you?

I'd vote for "Midlevel Crisis Blue" and "Midlevel Crisis Red" for channel names.
Having 2 seperate ones defeats the purpose of a global channel. You want folks on the other side and other servers to hear you. They might switch characters to run a TF or arc or whatever.
  10. Most of my characters have Flea in the name.
  11. Hube:

My starting character (63 months ago) was a tank and I also wanted to go slow, read clues and the background info on the enemies, check out the all the details in the map, etc. I think it is eminently reasonable to do so and fun. But even back then when the game was young, I would get invited to teams that wanted to go much faster than I did. And either I or someone else would die, whereas I would never die solo.

I think your best bet, and what I ended up doing, is finding someone like you that is either fairly new or just likes to take things slower and plays at the same times that you do. Add that person to your friends list; global friends list if they will let you. Then the two of you can run as a duo, ocassionally pick up a few more, ocassionally merge with a larger team. As a tanker, I would try to find a scrapper or a blaster, but really anyone with any powers that has the same slow, steady, and strategic style would work. Actually, a traps defender or devices blaster would be perfect. They love to take the time to set up all their deadly toys and then have a tank lure the enemies into their trap.

Having a few close friends with a similar style makes all the difference in the world.

We really should have a SG channel. Should it just be "Medieval Crisis" or does that discriminate against the villains?
Would calling it "Medievil Crisis"make up for it?
  13. Last night the random generator laughed at me, kicked me, then laughed harder. I got a cacophony triple.
  14. Actually, I believe someone from the Angry Angels SG on Virtue came up with the no retreat raid.

Also, Puce reminded me of one good reason to have the tanks with the rest of the raiders, a rebuff moment by Hammy just before respawn.

I'm not sure what is more important -- the buffs or quick draw taunting. Opinions?

  17. I tried it on my fire/kin which is not fully IO'd and built for behemoth farming, and I died rather quickly to them. My hats off to squishies that can handle it. I expect that if I switched to earth mastery and slotted for defense it would be much easier for me.

I also tried it with my inv/ss tank and I was able to put foostomp on auto, go get a drink and have a cigarette, and come back in time to hit dull pain and cap my health again. It wasn't fast, but it was easy.
  18. Honestly, there is probably no good reason for the yellow team tanks to hit Hammy more than once.

I think they should get there assigned mito, run in at the appointed 20 second threshold, taunt, mark their spot on the map, help with greens and blues, and then go back to their marked spot. The mitos get a little moved about on respawns, but that should put them fairly close.

If they ignored Hammy until the last mito wave was gone, they would have plenty of time to redistibute EOE or pick some up from another raider. More importantly, they would be in excellent position to taunt immediately upon respawn and thereby keep deaths to a minimum if not outright eliminate them.

    GR Mac Beta

The only separate Mac beta was the initial one where they introduced Mac support and the Mac pac (valkyrie stuff). After that there have been a few Mac players that point out oddities with Macs within the regular beta.
  21. We are also probably recycling among ourselves, at least initially as we set up our builds. I have no doubt we are buying and selling to each other, and some folks are sharing via the storage bins. But once everyone is happy with a level and a build, it should all be icing and contribute greatly to the market as a whole.
