like i said, i hate to bring this part of it up, but someone had to do it.
I can only hope they do that. I sometimes log onto characters with several hundred RMT e-mails and I like free money.

It might also be a sneaky way to datamine for RMT accounts that actually have the money to ban them instead of the hundred variations of "rvytbuhji" that were created this morning for the sole purpose of sending e-mails.
  2. I'm not advocating removing PvPIOs from arena or anywhere else. Leave them exactly as it is now, but ADD a new level to the Bounty game in Sirens that allows you to cash in bounty for a PvPIO.

Right now, you can trade in reputation for inspirations or an SO. That was pretty good when there were no IOs and Siren's call was the only place to get Strength of Will inspirations. But now that Mez is not resistible and few people use SO builds, that reward table is pure trash.
  3. It is MUCH easier and MUCH quicker to kill 1500 NPCs than 200 opponents (assuming that both numbers are accurate).

NPCs just stand there, or even come at you based on the aggro rules. Players run away, phase, heal, and do everything in their power to avoid dying. You might spend an entire match, or all night in a zone, trying to kill a player and fail.

How many NPCs can you kill in an hour? How many PvPers can you kill in an hour?

This is why the only "sane" way of obtaining PvPIOs is to have a free-for-all where you take turns, like medic did, or overnight farming between two or more accounts in a zone as others have described.

I think a 1 in 50 PvP kill drop rate (2% chance) would probably seem about right for drops in true fights, but it would make farming ridiculously easy. And that is why the drop rate is unlikely to change.

It's a funny little conundrum: players farm them because that's the only reasonable way to get them, but the developers will never increase the drop rate to something reasonable because then farming them would be too easy.

That's why I am in favor of adding PvPIOs to the Siren's Bounty Market and allow bounty to be saved. Whether bounty should be earned in other zones is open to debate.

Doing so will make Siren's Call hop again and allow an alternative way to obtain PvPIOs that is directly related to PvP while keeping it difficult to farm. While you could still have a group take turns killing each other, they are bound to be attacked by other groups looking to collect bounty. Since bounty is based off of reputation and the bonus for taking out the game-named bounty, overnight farms would probably be less effective. Siren's is a smaller zone with less hiding places and more tough, roving NPCs that make it less than ideal for overnight farms.

Oh, and you would still have a chance to get lucky and have one drop for you.
  4. If nothing else it will allow inf. capped characters to send a bit to an alt so that they can claim their last sale without losing anything.

It's a nice little QOL addition.

Correct. Certain enemies have "run AI" baked into them, ghosts being one of them. When they get low on health ghosts turn on invisibility and run away. This is now more evident than ever with the AE controls allowing us set if and when a boss will run.
  6. I think Hamidon was scared by the number of macros Leo has in his trays and took a little step back.
  7. Question: What is Another_Fan a fan of? And who is the fan before him?
  8. It makes a difference what you are farming for. If you are farming for drops, then yes, you are better off alone.

But if you are farming for XP, then the more the merrier. You get the same or more XP with a few people playing together and can earn it faster.
  9. It's not stupid to pay BUY IT NAO prices.

It's not stupid to complain about the market.

It IS exceedingly stupid to pay BUY IT NAO prices and complain about it, because more often than not, you could have gotten what you wanted at a fraction of the price with the application of a little knowledge and patience.
  10. Yeah, I started hanging out on test and a new blaster of Justice. I'll be back soon. We can level up dual pistol characters and sell as we go!
  11. That makes you a smart and rich cat.
  12. I read it as the rich get richer and the poor fall further and further behind.

Really? Do you look in the mirror much?

I have seen Mac fight back to insults tossed his way and occasionally throw a little sarcasm into his posts. But just about every time I see your name you are throwing insults and belittling other posters and their opinions.
  14. You're a dirty merit farmur and exploiter.
  15. I have to go with DM/Shield as well. I saw my friend IO the hell out of one and then stand in a room full of Rikti bosses. Not only did he survive but he took them all down. With soul drain and against all odds and whatever other +damage he had from sets, he was close to 300% +damage much of the time. A shield charge at damage cap is awesome to behold.

He was soft-capped to all 3 positions and the -tohit was just icing.
  16. I'm sure he'll answer you now that you said that. Very persuasive.
  17. Thanks for coming east. I can't make it, but I really do appreciate you venturing out closer to my home.

Now if you could just make it to Florida . . . .
  18. How rare should rare be?

How many PvPIOs should a competent PvPer who does nothing but PvP get in a set period of time - say 10 hours?

But even at that, as posted by others (and Castle) upthread, time playing does not equal number of kills.

How many PvP kills should it take, on average, to get a PvPIO?
  19. I have seen a screenshot with a character talking to the time NPC, the NPC stating "You have been on patrol for 3 Hours and x minutes", and the number 50 with a green arrow in the XP bubble.

Could it have been photo-shopped? Sure. But I know the player in the picture. He is the most extreme player in this game that I know. He's deleted more 50s than I have and I have about 20.

If he says he can get to 50 in 3 hours, it is truth.

I will not reveal his name nor post the picture. You can believe me or not. I know the truth and the truth has set me Flea.

  22. I'd like a punch or two in the set instead of all kicks. Otherwise, I like the idea and seems easy enough to do.

I also think this set would work with many other primaries.

Toggle it on. You're now extremely stealthy! YAY!

    However:
    • You can't move, or it shuts off.
    • You can't be attacked, or it shuts off.
    • You can't attack anyone (which would provoke a hostile response), or it will shut off.
So, unless you're a healer/buffer/etc., this thing is nothing but glitter.

    Or am I missing something?
Some things that come to mind:

    - To rest without being targetted
    - To AFK safely
    - Possibly to get another critical from hidden status for stalkers and banes

Stealth powers break not on movement, but on attack activation and clicking blinkies. If this has opposite rules for breaking stealth and it breaks on movement but not on activating powers or blinkies, then you could use it:

    - To click blicking objects
    - To set up traps
    - To be a hidden, stationary healer/buffer
