  1. There's also a valid economic reason: cash flow. While they get a nice steady supply of monthly subscriptions, they also make a nice chunk of change by selling new boxes. For most games there is an initial surge in buying when the game first comes out and then it declines to almost zero over time. Pre-orders and pre-purchases lets them extend the curve a bit and get some of that initial surge money ahead of time.

It makes it a smaller spike, but the income gets distributed over time, generating a smoother curve.

    All Kheld MoSTF

Hey! I was on that team! Bubba Flea, tri-form PB. And you may not have had a declared buff bot, but it was me. I had taken the medicine pool so that I could tank, blast, scrap, or defend in a pinch.

I spent most of the TF (and the ITF a few days before it) casting stimulant on everyone and heals where needed, and then blasted, punched, or stomped as appropriate.

I think we should finish a regular all -kheld STF before attempting a MoSTF. My PB is still on Justice so let me know if you set a date to do it there or on Test. Send me a PM or an in-game tell though. I rarely come to the kheldian forum but your title cought my eye. If you post it in here I may miss it.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful raid
That started from this lonely rock
    With nobody afraid.

The teams were a mighty raiding group,
    The leader much had played.
Five pick up groups buffed that day
For a three hour raid, a three hour raid.

    The weather started getting rough,
    The fire tank was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless kin
The hami would be lost, the hami would be lost.

The team set down on the edge of this uncharted desert hive
    With Pumbumbler
    The Kilspyke too,
    The Megumi and the leech,
    The music star
    The catgirl Boo and Maribelle,
    Here on Pumbumbler's Hive.

So this is the tale of the pug raiders,
They're there for a long, long time,
They had to make the best of things,
    It was an uphill climb.

The green team and the yellow too,
    Will do their very best,
    To make the others comfortable,
    In the devoured Earth nest.

No cold, no rads no empathy,
    Not a single luxury,
    Like newbie States TFs,
    As unbuffed as can be.

So join us here each week my friends,
You're sure to take a dive,
    From seven untaunted mitos,
    Here in "Pumbumbler's Hive."
    I approve.

Now you must make a bind (or series of them) and sing it every raid.

    Kinetic Melee!

It looks like the set will be a little like spines in that it's a melee set with a little extra range to it.

If it had a toggle power (like AAO) that added damage for every attack directed at you, the length of the animations wouldn't matter so much. Because all the hits you take while doing your fancy kung-fu will just make you hit that much harder.

I think I might be ok with long animations with something like that.

    YOUR Dream Team.

    The Justice Dream Team

    Rep - Macskull

    Elec/therm - Solo
    Emp - Smokesignal
    Blaster - Positronbot
    Blaster - Lucas
    rad/psy - Peritus
    Dom - Con Flict
    Whatever he wants - Ra(We Like/Eat Rice)
  7. Defense in PvP has either been godmode or meaningless. They haven't been able to find a sweet spot for it.

  9. Oh oh.

I don't like the look of that list. I also don't understand how some of those could have the same problems as Numina ++. But there may be a power I'm not considering.

    Freeform Respecs

There are probably 10 to 12 characters that I should respec, but don't, simply because I consider it a major hassle. If we could just substitute one power, or move just a few enhancements, I would do them in a heartbeat.

I would even spend a good deal of influence to get a "special" mid's-like respec. How's that for an influence sink?
  11. So I get an invitation and see the banners for Paragon Unleashed. I go and look it over and it seems to me to be an excuse to post naughty pictures and say naughty words.

Is that basically it? Aren't their lots of other sites that do that already?

And if you want to talk about this game, isn't this forum better for that?

I guess if you want to talk about the game in naughty words and with naughty pictures . . . .
  12. I have Dream Team on Justice. I joined it on 11-24-04 and was not one of the founding members, but all the founding members left long ago. So I'm not sure when it was created, but at least a few months before November.

I also have Nightmare Squad on Justice. I had created that VG during the villains beta and recreated 10-29-05.

While most of its members have gone, we have 3 members who play regularly (including myself) and a few that show up periodically or on free weekends.
  13. A buff/buff would be a perfect second account toon. Have a sonic dispersion/Forcefield put shields on you and the ally toggle debuff, with one of the bubbles on auto and follow you around. Or maybe an emp/forcefield.

So it could help a farmer, not be a farmer.
  14. If everyone has the ability to earn "money" quickly and easily, why is inflation a problem?

    I see two.

First, brand new players are immediately turned off, assuming that they will never be able to afford stuff.

Second, eventually everything will be selling at or above the 2 billion cap if inflation is left unchecked.

Make more stuff to buy with influence, like say the booster packs (after they have been milked for real cash).

Well, you could go for something like Barfy McBarfbarf . . . .

    Be BIG McLARGE HUGE

He's from one of Televisions arcs and is described as:
    Quote:
Big McLargehuge was a popular star in the late 1960s through the 1970s. While he never landed a starring in a major motion picture, he did play the leading man in a large number of B-movies, cementing his role as a cult movie star. His career took a downturn in the 1980s when his outspoken political views effectively saw him blacklisted for much of the decade, and his declining health made it difficult to do long shoots. His career has recently rebounded on television, where he's re-invented himself as a capable character actor with roles in several popular shows.
Also: Congratulations! Your art proves you have great talent and your posts and appearances at events show you have great affection for this game and its players. Good luck in your new post and make us lots of pretty pictures to look at!
  16. I would like some combinations of buff/buff, but I can't imagine anything more boring that an FF/Sonic on a team of 8. Cycle through four shields 24/7. *Shudder*
  17. I'd like to see the build as well. You may need more recharge or more damage or some procs.

By the time all my traps are placed while on a team, that group is dead and then its on to the next one.

Solo it only takes slightly longer but not long enough to get bored. But I do have an Achilles heal -resist proc in acid mortar and 2 damage procs in caltrops to speed up the damage.

    Hami last night

    Quote:
Also, I made a bad mistake in saying what I did. I meant lesser as in "less-populated" as I read that every server besides Virtue and Freedom has trouble with Hami raids due to population issues.
You must be kidding. We taught Freedom how to raid consistently and easily.

    Proof.

Not to say that they didn't raid without Justice people. But their success rate jumped and their drama dropped after a few of us went over and taught them how we do it here.

Justice has been hammering Hamidon since shortly after he first made his appearance. And we were one of the first if not THE first to take down his new I9 incarnation.
  19. Hey, I like my tail to move.

    MMMMmmm . . . moving tail.

  22. I don't mind them closing up holes and exploits. That's part of their job. But patching the server to plug the hole while introducing bugginess and glitchiness is poor performance.

I wasn't using the exploit. I really don't care if others were. I expect the devs to stop the exploit. But please don't mess up the rest of the game in the process.
  23. Stamina. It's more consistent. Drain Psyche is for icing and the debuff.
  24. I used red fortunes in my defenses, mako and touch of death in my single target attacks, and multi-strike & Scirrocco for the AOEs. I skipped tough/weave and went with leadership for maneuvers and six slotted gaussians in tactics. I also slotted a steadfast protection +3 def that I got from rolling low level bronze rolls.

He is soft-capped to range and AoE and one parry softcaps melee. He also has a ton of +damage from the Makos and ToD that stack with Against All Odds making him a very hard hitter.

I don't know what the cost was as I had some in my base and just bought some and found some as I leveled up. But it wasn't very hard or too expensive.
