For a brief period of time several betas ago, AS did, in fact, scale with HP. A team of stalkers could AS a giant monster to death with one coordinated strike and solo stalkers could handle GMs, AVs, and pylons by themselves fairly easily.
It lasted for a week maybe. -

Quote:I think Mac was saying to be careful what you wish for.this would be the objective IF they only made rewards reduced for allies that actually participated in battle
but instead they nerfed captives, defend objects, and escorts all 3 of which the ally in it is nothing more than a placeholder
patrols, battles, and ally boss spawns are unaffected by this so it wont really be stopping the use of buffing allies (they wont directly buff you, but you can make a group of baddies that just uses the AoE buffs and you sit under them) -
Really? I'm not seeing any patch. What version do you have?
I have 1600.20100114.11T -
Mr. Dahjee, sir, could you please tell me how to succeed at PvP with traps? I'm almost done with leveling my Traps/DP Defender. It is neither a corr or an MM, but I figure it is closer to the corr and you seem to know more about those than Con Man.

Are you guys having fun with this league?
It doesn't seem like it from the outside, but maybe it's different inside the league. -
I think I put in the drop rate for purples from TopDoc's research. My bad.

Yes, they have the chance to drop from any Player that you defeat, either in zone or in arena, so long as the players are within 3 levels of each other AND you did (or could have) earned PvP reputation from the kill (meaning that you can't kill the same target within 5 minutes).
The drop rate is unknown. It is presumed to be the same for arena and zone and estimated to be 1 in 2000 to 3000 or so kills. -
Here is the missing cake code:

Quote:Well, hold on there. It's not too late to make changes. They've already made some with the invasions. Sure, it's also punching things in the face, but it gives a sense of immediacy to it that missions don't have.Well, if we're talking about the biggest mistake, it could be argued that it was to make the fundamental rewarded activity the act of defeating enemies, instead of preventing crimes and disasters. Sometimes the divergence between these two approaches doesn't amount to much - you stop bad men by hitting them until they fall down. Other times, however, it leads to the promotion of behavior that has absolutely nothing to do with the superhero milieu (e.g., setting loiterers on fire) or foils concepts in keeping with the genre (e.g., saving civilians from falling rubble or stopping runaway trains). If I were trying to make a superhero MMO right now, I'd put a lot of thought into how to reward a broader concept of doing good rather than defeating enemies. This is a significantly harder design challenge, it must be noted.
But for this game, that's water so very far under the bridge that it's nearly useless to consider.
It would be great if they could use invasion tech to have a "Meteor Invasion" -- a giant hunk of rock falling from the sky that you have to pummel before it lands. It could spawn "chunks" that break off the main meteor and fall to the ground, which in turn spawn fires that non-flying heroes would have to put out. -

Here's my first computer. It hooked up to my TV. It had a floppy drive and a cassette tape drive add-ons for memory. I played Archon and the Red Baron on it.
Before that I had an Emerson generic Pong game. -
Quote:Then I stand corrected. I didn't remember having to give my age, but that was almost 6 years ago. But it still relies on people being truthful in entering that field. Many people aren't. I usually don't put my real birthday unless it's something legal. You are required to state your birth date when you register a PlayNC account, and from how I understand it, they DO respect this data field. Back during CoV Beta, the question arose as to how PlayNC would tell what our age was to tell who would be permitted into Closed Beta. CuppaJo told me, in no uncertain terms, that I was expected to have been truthful in stating my age, and that PlayNC would respect that.
As such, they ought to have the necessary data for such a survey. -
It would be interesting to get some official demographic statistics, but I don't think that they exist. You don't have to tell anyone how old you are to buy the game or to log in. So other than anecdotal evidence like this thread, I don't think we'll ever know.

I just turned 46 this week.
I've met a few people in the game who said they were older than I was, but not many. -
Using an Ouroborus Crystal powered by Black Barrier's rage, I was able to go back in time to find this:

Just to make things clear here -
If someone attacks you in a PvP zone and you are having an RP event (like FC) that is NOT harassment.
If you are in a PvP zone you can attack another player repeatedly.
However - you cannot trash talk someone using vulgar words, racial slurs, sexual slurs or other UA violating actions (something is occurring over and over with the intention to harass, it may be actioned.) That IS harassment and can be actioned against by the GMs.
You could also be actioned for exploiting in a PvP zone - for example - by hanging out as a villain in a hero hospital to gank heroes as they respawn. This is not as designed and may be actioned.

Recluse's Victory Event on Test - Auto Lvl to 40!
Recluses Victory Playtest Instructions
Heroes:
Welcome to Recluses Victory! Were calling all heroes to help us fight back Lord Recluse and his minions, and prevent him from taking over Paragon City! This event will start May 24th at around 11:00 am Central and end on May 26th around 8:00 am Central.
Before this playtest, all character information will be backed up, and then wiped off of the server. Character transfer service will be disabled during this time. All players who log in to the Training Room during this test will need to create new characters. (How to install the Test Server) To get started, simply create a new character, and it will take you directly into Recluses Victory, instead of Atlas Park, Galaxy City, or Outbreak.
In order to play in this zone, you will need to level up and enhance your character. To do so, follow these simple steps, and youll be in combat in no time. Note that all contacts necessary for this test will be recognizable by an orange ring at their feet, and their name will explain their function.
Locate Ms. Liberty, who should be near the portal you started from. Walk up to her and click on her, and she will grant you the XP and Influence you will need to level up.
Follow either the left or right hallways. If you go left, youll run across Minx. If you go right, youll run across Swan. These two will serve as trainers, where you can obtain your new powers.
Go down into the main chamber, and you will see three Field Corp Elite Agents. These are stores for you to purchase enhancements.
When you are finished enhancing your powers, simply go to the small portal on the opposite end of the main chamber to exit the hero base, and enter the combat zone.
At the end of the event the test server will be wiped again and restored to its state before the playtest.
Thats it! Good luck, and fight hard! Paragon City is counting on you!

Rubberlad, I understand that you might be upset for ordering something with the expectation that it would arrive at a certain time and then having that time pushed back.
But I think you know well enough that computer game releases in particular are frequently pushed back due to technical issues. It's not unheard of for games to be delayed for all sorts of reasons.
So while I understand that you are upset, I also understand that the developers want to deliver a solid, working product with lots of content. The fact that you can play with dual pistols, and soon with demon summoning, is a perk!
