I wish I could see the sales figures. But that will happen after they make fitness inherent and give PvPIOs away in PvE . . . .
-
The scariest thing is the amount of agreement in this thread.
This community is great, but it rarely agrees on anything. Well, except that the party pack was not enough product for too much money. -

Quote:How about you stop telling people what to post?Didn't most of you that have been complaining about the content of this Pack do the same in the previous thread that announced the pack's contents?
Why do we need two threads of kvetching? How about we stick to complaints about things like not being able to buy the pack in the store, or bugs. The content of this pack is set in stone, not going to change. Either buy it or don't. I think they heard every complaint there is to hear in the last thread.
The next pack that makes 100% of the people happy will be the first.
Kind of obnoxious when I tell you what not to post, isn't it? -
Quote:You don't have to justify yourself to anybody. For me that would depend on the emotes. For the record, I am not thrilled with the price/emotes of this pack but I have wanted the airguitar emote for so long and at the cost of 2 McDonald's breakfast meals I caved.
People who want it, buy it.
People who don't, won't.
Nothing else needs to be said.
. . . . well, except . . .
PARTY ON, SWELL GUY!!!
-
I'll pass as well.
But out of curiousity, has anyone that actually purchased it found any hidden gems? Did they sneak something in other than those 8 emotes? -
Quote:Yeah, the difference between Wednesday and Saturday can be shocking.400 million was the highest price I saw for crafted Apocalypses, and I recall Hecatombs as being lower when I checked. Maybe I was doing my marketeering during a low price point or something. Gonna have to check the market this evening and see what prices are at now.
-
I have vague recollections of the prices being all over the place right after I18 went live with the server merge. Do you think prices are stable now?
-
The least "buff-bot" of the support primaries are dark and rad. All of the other ones have some sort of shield that you should be periodically reapplying to everyone you can. Dark and rad specialize in debuffs, therefore all the powers you pick are helpful solo as well as in teams.
But if you prefer controllers to defenders, then the shield buffs won't go to waste because after level 32 you can buff your pet as you solo. -
What are purple prices these days?
I started a new character in Praetoria and haven't looked in a while. -
The release of the new issue had playing with the new toys.
But I would be interested in seeing this play out. -
No, you really don't want health. It's a very minor regen. You need 8 enemies in the aura to equal health (40% regen unslotted). Do you really notice the regen from health?
It might make you heal up a little quicker if everything is locked down, but it's not really something that will keep you alive if people are shooting at you.
Now if you want to slot set IOs for set bonuses, that's a different story. Certain builds might be better off slotting health to soft-cap or hit perma-dom, of what have you.
But for generic SO and IO slotting, I would only recommend end mod and acc, but not heal. -
It's really a harder question than you think, or at least it is for me. Remember that you have to pick these powers as you level up. I am used to getting hurdle or swift at level 6 or 8, stamina at 20 and health somewhere in between. You really don't have many powers available to pick between 6 and 20.
People with the vet award -- early pick for travel power -- have it a little easier. -
Quote:People should do whatever they feel is best for themselves. But it seems to me that you might as well at least try to take out "Stormin' Norman" since you have to wait out the clock anyway. So you aren't really saving anytime by skipping him.For now, to maintain the fun and interest of doing the trial for the most number of people, I agree with BT that the stormer should be skipped and only the red done.
(although, raid willing, I'll be more than happy to attempt against the stormer to learn more about the encounter/weaknesses/tactics).
But you do potentially "waste" any temp powers you throw at him, especially one shot powers like nukes and HVAs. That's going to have to be a judgment call. Even though those are fairly easy and quick to obtain (with 23 friends backing you up) it does take some time. -
Masta Blaster burn patches move away from him, so as not to get hurt.
He translates Ricochet . . . into Swahili.
When he sees Seers, they feel his passion. When Seers see him, they summon candlelight dinners.
He is . . . the most interesting man in Praetoria. -
HVAs are better than shivans for this because they stay at range and have their own -regen attack. You should have enough vanguard merits to buy one after doing a ship raid.
-
Quote:Where were you Saturday afternoon? The Sat-Mat group ran one that went very smoothly. How about an attempt next weekend? I would prefer Saturday night, after 7pm. I wouldn't mind throwing in a Hami and Ship Raid in as well. It might actually help people grab an HVAS first if they want to come to CoP.
There must have been 20 HVAs and a few shivans. The AV really had no chance. -
I offer my services to Ironik, Samuel Tow, or anyone else, to build a small functional base on any server and invite all your characters to it.
It's really not all that hard and time consuming. -
Quote:Cheers to you! Thanks for taking the time to sift through all that and listening to our concerns.Hey, guys. Just wanted to thank everyone for casting a vote and for helping us get a better picture of what the playerbase is thinking. Here's my takeaway from reading the 22+ pages of thoughts on the topic: Arguments on both sides were compelling to the point where a third option, perhaps involving the menu setup, seems like the best way to satisfy all parties. This is NOT a promise of future action, but it's the view I'll express on your behalf.
So yay--everyone wins. We'll make every effort to create new pieces that give you all better options in areas that might be lacking. And don't worry, Option 2 folks--nothing will be removed from the system.
If anyone would like to comment further about specific costume pieces, please don't hesitate to post in the All Things Art thread.
Cheers,
Noble Savage
I truly appreciate it. -
Has anyone ever come out with a spreadsheet or other tool that shows what the different PvP DR/HD/TS numbers are for any given PvE number?
I remember early on Arcanaville had come out with a formula that made my head spin. But the basics, as I understood them, were that each attribute had its own ED-like curve and the further to the right you moved down the curve, the more you took a hit. Some attributes had a softer, more forgiving curve but most of them had a fairly severe curve.
I know that Mids tried to plug in those formulas but I hear from several pros that it isn't very reliable. Some numbers are right and others are wrong. Is there a reliable source for these numbers? -
Based on some of the reactions Leo's video has gotten, I have deduced that Nosferatu was running to the drug store for some Trojans.
-
I eventually put 6 Efficacy Adapters in mine. Early on I had one acc, then added one end mod, later a second acc, and then started filling in with IOs as I got them and leveled up.
I think I had one and one until the mid twenties and I found it adequate. -
Out of about 90 characters, I think I have taken it twice. Once on a dark melee scrapper because I already had shadow maul and because the axe was good against ghosts, which usually resist negative energy anyway.
The second was a trick arrow/arrow defender that had a Native American theme to it, so the Axe seemed to fit better as a natural weapon.
Everyone else gets Sands of Mu, whichever wand gives them the origin bonus, and then the other wand. -
In defense of the devs and the party pack: Early in beta, someone discovered the popdance, which closely resembles Michael Jackson's famous dance moves. There were a large portion of us that were so amuzed that we stood around dancing instead of running the tip missions (Praetoria wasn't open at the time). And the chatter on the Beta testers channel was almost all about the dance and the other new emotes and stances.
If there was a dev acting as a fly on the wall, and there usually is during beta, we may have given them the impression that we thought this was the best thing since sliced bread. And it was . . . for a free new emote.
