Edit: OMG! You have changed your avatar at least twice since this morning! Slow down dude, you are giving me whiplash. -
Quote:I should start off by saying this is for fans of the classic Transformers not those Michael Bay abominations. I made a costume for Optimus and Megatron

I'm looking for ideas on how to create a few other decent ones particularly Soundwave.
Very nice! -
Ah . . . the good old days. When you could walk into Siren's Call and actually worry about being Assassinated.

An honest assessment of someone's arc is a matter of taste, which is subjective. The same arc can be critiqued as too hard by some and too easy by others. The mere fact that someone gives an arc 3 stars or less without leaving any comments does not equate to griefing.
It might be griefing, but it does not HAVE to be. -
Quote:Could it be that getting to the first few pages gets you more plays? I assume that to be true, although I don't know for a fact. I know that most authors covet being as close to the top as possible. And by getting more plays, you are bound to run into someone who has different tastes than the author. When people get a bunch of four- and five-star ratings with positive comments on their four-star arcs, then one of those five-star ratings puts it at five stars and on the first few pages, and within hours of being at five stars it's gotten another vote with no tickets or comments that knocks it back down to four stars, and this happens EVERY TIME the arc gets to five stars, it's hard not to assume that people are being jerkwads. Note that my arc that has had this happen at least three times has not received a single no-ticket rating when it's been at four stars. And it has Malta ambushes in it.
Also adding to the evidence is that when 0-star ratings were removed, a whole lot of four-star arcs lost a few "plays" and went up to five stars.
I do not doubt that there may be "One Star Bandits" that have a beef with one author or another, or perhaps that just enjoy being jerks. But I highly doubt that every, single vote of a generally well received arc that is not a 4 or 5 is due to said bandits.
Frankly, thinking that the only reason an arc would get three or less stars is "griefing" is the height of arrogance. -
Quote:Why is it griefing if someone doesn't like your arc? Do you know that someone intentionally gave it a low score for the purpose of knocking it down or are you assuming that?Since my second arc, Casualties of War, just got griefed, you're down to one less five star with over 100 plays.
Don't mind me, just ticked off and ranting.
I can sympathize with your frustration. But I have read others also say that they were "griefed" when they did not get a perfect score of 5 stars and I am wondering if I am missing info. -
I've been around for you
I've been up and down for you
But I just can't get any relief
I've swallowed my pride for you
I've lived and lied for you
But you still make me feel like a thief
You got me stealin' your love away
'Cause you never give it
Peeling the years away
And we can't relive it
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly
You said we'd work it out
You said that you had no doubt
That deep down we were really in love
Oh, but I'm tired of holding on
To a feeling I know is gone
I do believe that I've had enough
I've had enough of the falseness
Of a worn out relation
Enough of the jealousy
And the intoleration
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly
Time for me to fly
Oh, I've got to set myself free
Time for me to fly
And that's just how it's got to be
I know it hurts to say goodbye
But it's time for me to fly -
Terror is a great player on whatever he decides to play and always has a spot on my team. I would invite people I know to be good players on anything.
It's only when I start inviting strangers that I worry about AT and powersets. And very few can be stranger than je_saist -
I'm sorry to hear about your mom, Kheldarn.

Two things:
First, set bonuses are added after ED calculations. So even if your regular slotting plus the alpha slot bonus had all you powers at 110% recharge, purple sets would give you even more recharge. You might think that extra recharge at that point is unnecessary. Perhaps, but as someone once said, unless your attack chain is *headsplitter, headspliiter, headsplitter,* you can use more recharge.
Second, I agree that purples are overkill and sometimes counter productive to most builds except if you are building for ultra high recharge to get one or more perma powers or to have some specialized low level runner, since the purple bonuses never go away. -
Quote:What are you talking about?Like most builds for pvp are not pretty much cookie cutter now. Dont come on the forums and QQ about your lack of skill to get IOs so they need to make a zone where you can go pew pew and not worry about getting two shotted. Tbh if you have toons like most PvPers I know ie the toons in the 10-20 bill inf range you should not even be able to be touched by some one with SOs. lets see 2 mill inf toon vs 15 bill inf toon. Ya see my point. Right now it the IOed toons are still good enough to keep the baddies from coming in the zone. Which tbh if you are willing to spend the money the way it should be you should be able to just insta kill some one that dose not want to work to make a toon and just puts SOs in it.
Where did I cry about lack of skill, or lack of IOs? I have plenty of both, thank you. And if you think that it takes skill to make an expensive build you are wrong. All you need is to copy a build from this forum and use daddy's credit card to pay for some RMT funds. I've never done that, but there are plenty who have. That takes 0 skill.
And if you bothered to read the entire first post, you would have seen that my idea had this zone be either new, auto-leveled toons only, or if existing characters came in it would have to be by using one of the other builds to create an SO only build.
We already have zones and arena where you can use all your earned or bought IO set bonuses. This is an idea for something different. Something that was tried on the test server to test Recluse's Victory when it first came out and everyone had a lot of fun with. -
It's working now.
I guess I needed to log all the way out and not just to the log in screen.
Thanks for the help! -
This is where I copied the files to: C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\data\texts\English\Menus
And yes, I reloaded the client, cut and pasted the /bind statement, hit enter, and then nothing happens when I hit SHIFT+B.
I don't get any error message so the /popmenu command is being executed, but it doesn't bring up any menu. -
I can't seem to get it to work. I'm not sure why.
-
At this point, their absence and the lack of any word indicates to me that we won't be seeing them until after I19 launches.
-
I recall Positron saying not all at once but a few at a time, not one at a time. But yes, I think that they are planning to be here for years to come. Whether that plan comes to fruition . . . only time will tell.

Quote:I think this is a fantastic idea. One thing that always bugs me about AE is that the same arcs that were on the first page on day one are still there. Nothing against them, but there are many other arcs that are just as good if not better and deserve to have some time in the spotlight. This way a more or less dynamic "hot list" is always on top when you log in. You made a new arc and a bunch of friends tried it out? Expect it to make the front page next month. You have an arc from a year ago with a ton of plays, it may be on the front page for quite a while. So while it may be easy to get on the front page for a month, it should also take considerable effort to keep it there, the good ones should end up with more plays. And this dynamic list should present you with different choices each time you visit.

Quote:Wait! Are you saying the price went up because demand went up? Preposterous! Blasphemous! Mickeymous!I believe we have a greater number of people gathering their money together to try and "pimp out" their favorite 50. Even if 10 people a week buy a purple that they normally wouldn't purchase in anticipation of incarnate, that's 10 more people than normal. Hence, why the price goes up and continues to go up.

Me too! I had the same problem with the TP bind after I got Dwarf.

Goodbye, Obsidius.
I hope to see you here again when you feel less like this:
And more like this:
If not, stay cool and I hope to see you in some other venue.

Quote:If you have a purpled crab, I assume you have tons of recharge and AOE and are soft-capped to at least ranged position.See, that's part of what I'm getting at. So now I can unslot two enhancements from all of my powers. Great, I just lost loads of purple set bonuses. Why would I want to do that?
I get that the balancing act is part of the fun/challenge of this, but the Alpha Slot abilities don't seem complimentary at all.
With that kind of set up, I would either go musculature radial to add damage and a little bit of extra defense debuff (a lot of crab attacks have def debuff).
Or I might go with cardiac for end reduction. All those AoEs recharging quickly use up a lot of endurance. You could then decide whether you want a little more resistance or a little more range. I think that range is the better choice but both work well with a crab. -
