    FB man, we'll be there! great news and thanks for the wait, we'll try and do what we did for mine and double team an outdoor mish if you like

    Sin, great work, keep it up, although I am trying to avoid complex forums that require multiple page readings, 1 main update page for the main reads/posts by myself and leaders, the rest will be nice for hosting shizzle i hope (subfolders and all )

    MCX, at present we have space for 1 m beacon iirc, 3 patches away means a fair while, prolly 9 weeks at best, if not 3 months, although I would usggest the 8 beacons we take are Atlas, PI, FF, Talos, Steel, Crey's. Those 5 will give access to most zones within 1 jump, the PvP zones would be nice although not essential and the hollows (stupid tp point, if it changes it'll stay in) and PP are useful, although if all the zones attached to PP are accessible, there may be no need. Long term we will aim to take them all, large tp room costs 600 kp (2 defences in these rooms, nice for fighting in )and a telepad costs 15 kp + salv, beacons are 10 kp.

    Maybe very harsh, but that's how much I feel you;ve missed the point of the elec set, especially when there was a "[censored]" in your post about SCs usefulness.

    Everyone doeslay differently I agree, and TS is often not easy to execute safely or efficiently, i personally don't just spam it as it has it's drawbacks (it works against the PBAoE part of elec with it's PBAoE KB). Although saying SC is overrated imo is a bit foolish, although the word 'overrated' can mean the same thing to differing degrees to different people, anything that lays down huge -end and -rec in an AoE, not to mention decent damage to boot cannot be a bad pick imo, SC offers more initial control in larger groups/spawns that TC or the other holds can offer and therefore i feel it's invaluable, especially in smaller groups and groups lacking team buffs/heals. Back to TS, it hits, I don't know why you think it misses so much, maybe you don't have enough acc for the foes you are facing? It rarely misses for me, even in PvP against SSers, so I guess the 'miss moving targets' bug is fixed. On this note, if this power has lower base acc than others I can totally understand why, it's a bit powerful when it hits and KBs 10 (blaster melee AoE? is it 10 or 16, i know that PS is a debuff so hits 10) enemies really.

    RE: melee, there is less melee in the elec set than the nrg set iirc, also ice and fire have as much, if not more. The blaster secondaries are shared partly with the tanker secondaries, slow but powerful moves. The brute primary is based on the tanker secondary, so it is no surprise that the elec manipulation melee is in the brute primary. The only difference is that blasters were around before brutes. As for the ranged thing, well an elec at range is ok, but not special, 1 AoE, 2 ST mediocre powers, 1 hold that you can;t capitalise on without closing really, a snipe which there isn't a great deal of room for if you want max DPS in a mobile fashion, a nuke that takes however long they take to recharge (not more than once a fight like the other powers). I was thinking about this earlier before i replid, and without the melee or the control/drain of elec, you essentially have a gimped fire blaster, low ranged damage and no control, thats not fun imo.

    my way isn't right, and yours isn't wrong, the fact I am 50 with my elec means little other than I have seen the powers work together (37s dont get all the powers at once although they can get most of the powers I have), the several thousand hours I have as these sets mean a little more, but not a lot, the way I suggest people try to play is usually somewhere between ranged blaster and melee monster, I rarely write a build that close to my own for people who want to level 1-50 or who are new or want to blast, I just know that a ranged blaster without drains will never be as efficient as a full blaster with drains and holds.

  3. problem solved, dont go fire/ or /dev, then you wont need any slots to better than you could be with fire dev. seeing as you care enough to slot this buil you will obviously care enough to defend it.

What elec is though, is rediculous AoE dgm/mez/control, SC is stupidly power even from lvl 8, DOs bring some solo functionality to it, SOs give it almost an unstoppable edge solo and in a team with another elec it will do it's job easily from DOs. TS offers guaranteed KB, some KBAoE KB, high chance to stun up to Lts, if it misses it's generally the old automiss/miss moving targets bug rearing its ugly head.

    Anyway, SC is late is pretty useless, and without TS you lack the dmg to take bosses down as fast as poss, just generally lose your highest dmg power, and the animation isn't a problem when you consider everything around you solo is held/has no endurance. Well i love elec abit too much, but nothing wrong with taking SC early

    Well then you're a fool imo, I've had trollers burn my BFs in less than 5 minutes (20 that is) and I've had trollers I literally can't scratch in some fights.

    Insps give ppl a fighting chancce in a 10 minute match, in prolonged PvP we all know it would be very different 1v1 and trollers would truely be the best alrounders, although as it is it's all about ice/nrg blaster, SR and Regen scrappers and pretty much any troller.

    In a friendly raid between our SG and VG the other day, 1 of the heroes suggested they let us spawn, it was appreciated,although we destroyed the heroes because we got a hold on them. no remorse if you want to win, you don't take it easy on a death mage just because 'awww I held him in 1 shot'

  9. MCX, cool on the part time front mate, we know that you're not about to up and leave altogether.

    Sin, sounds good mate, I think if every1 could upload and create pages per TF or soemthing, keep a diary if they want almost, and a main blog for me and the other leaders. I still like havign everything here but it won't hurt to try, things are growing, I just dont want it to hit critical mass and lose stability.

    Keep us updated, and can evey1 else try and keep up with the TS, we should be getting mor chatty.

    Don;t forget base rid on weds at 7 ( i think it was 7, check back a page).

  11. Totally cool Coin, RL is always first we all know that. SSTFs i can understand your not wanting to drop, but things like raid practice and other TFs I think I'd rather you came on and said bye if you have to go, wouldnt be very good freinds if we were arsey and that made ur game xp less fun .

    I hear FB saying 7-9, how about wednesdays? Weds or Sun 7-9 suits me, but it's up to whoever can make it really. This week I'll say Weds at 7pm, we'll see how that sits with people.

    Cambo, I agree we need some kind of online diary, atm this is the best we have, maybe i can get a script on some free site, or maybe Sin can set one up.

    Sin and Healer, yes the PvP team appears to have died a death, mainly due to lack of people PMing schedules in, however now Jaz is back(?) more he may get it kicked off again.

    Abu is talking about a regular Sunday raid... how does everyone feel about this, post your ideas here, yes post, that means you have to post a post, and ask the in game people to come read this, 'cos let's face it, do they read the MotD that says "please read the SG thread", heh. Well anyways, I'm up for this at least biweekly at around 5-7 pm Sundays.

  13. u may want to look at my posts on the threads linked above, and for my own build there is thread named after my toon, but to comment on your slotting:

    add a 3rd endmod in SC, really, add it. lose an acc, it has the acc of something with a built in SO already
    add that 3rd flyspd in hover
    if you plan to melee much (and you will if you have the powers) u will find a recred in the melees very useful, makes a massive difference to DPS and melee survivability.
    acc in zapp is optional, although it is adviasble in PvE and PvP , i f u never plan to use this without aim or BU drop the acc, defo drop the recred, add an intred, u can be 30 feet away from where you start the zapp by the time it goes off with 1 intred.
    aim and BU are well slotted, although if you plan to build this toon from lvl get them in before the mid 20s, ideally much earlier
    VS doesnt need 2 accs, not even in PvP, go with 3 dmg 1 acc
    wont need an endmod in TB, 50% base drain and enough dmg to kill almost anything, swap this for a recred, again, only add acc for PvP or if not using aim/BU every time
    SB NEEDS to have 3 holdur not 3 dmg, i would add a recred too, slower recharge than TC but longer dur.
    CA doesnt need endred, its use is negligable
    EMP... LC will do this job less effectively but about 11x more often, dont get it, if u must go acc acc recred recred stundur stundur
    SD, not worth getting imo, elec is PBAoE and AoE, cones will make ur position style different in order to be effective, hasten would be far wiser.

    my comments are mainly PvE, although you've slotted double acc, if you are thinking PvP there is a LOT more i would change, but you should have a look at my buil for that if you like

    48 so ignoring most of your level picks, although if u exemp or PvP lower than 50 u'll be a mess. im gonna be pretty harsh as ihave played the hell out of the elec set and love it, if you want to see a high degree of minmaxing then look for the thread on my build, its not hard to find here.

    dont take EMP, its not worth the sltos fow how often u use it.
    dropping VS for a melee is a good idea, each melee will do about as much dmg as VS in 1 hit if used with aim and BU, although VS is easier on the end and ups your DPS overall, i see VS as a supplement to at least 2 blasts and 3 melees.
    TC pve low level 1 acc 3 holdur 2 recred, higher level pve without team buffs 2 acc 3 holdur 1 recred, this is same as PvP slotting.
    stamina, you wont notice the 3 slots change, make sure to take PS and slot it 3 recred 3 endmod, you don't even need stamina if you only PvE with this power (levelled to 50 like this in and out of teams and could solo invince carnies and malta).

    your actual build:
    drop range from your blasts, not minmaxing or contributing to your DPS or DPE imo. recred would be better, if you have end issues (you will have a job to have end issues) then slot endred.
    hover, if you are planning on kiting and blasting more than meleeing take 3 slots here, all flyspd, def is worthless almost, especialy slotwise.
    all those in slots in fly? just get tp or SJ imo
    3 recred in aim and BU, standard for blasters, please read my thread on aim and BU for more PoVs on this.
    imo the only way to slot SC is 1 acc 3 endmod 2 recred, as much drain as often as possible, better than a ST hold in a team environment and the amount of aggro it generates is not a lot if you have an empath to sort you out.
    RF id just slot recharge for team shifting
    wouldnt bother with endred in TS, extra acc for the AoE component or recred for more DPS, although this isnta power you will use every time its up due to the PBAoE implications.
    dont obther with recred in VS, its perma with hasten, get hasten
    invis i'd go recred for awkward situations or endred for toggle issues
    wouldnt bother with SD
    no need for endred in CA
    EMP isnt worth a slot imo, get HP or CB

    i cant say much more other than i wouldnt make some of the power choices you have, your slotting needs tweaking, but to really make urself powerful you needa few more of the elec cookie cutter ideas. whatever works is good for u

  16. not aimed at the OP but players in general. While i have been new to servers and taken inf from people before, and been unhappy with some slotting, I have also played toons well into the high 20s without really using anything but drops. I just want people to know that inf isnt the be all and end all and can add a nice sense of achievement to your toon.

    That said, if any1 is in OotCS i give them whatever they need, tis only proper

  18. Well done guys, both teams did well! Let the theme of this post be that we are one team, one SG, one family on CoX! When it boils down to it, we are gonna be all about stamping all over other friends's SGs for fun, and idiots' SGs 'cos it's PvP, and unknown SGs... because we want their IoPs >: ).

    MCX: Yes people forgot pylons, tbh for warm up raids i dont see a massive need for them for a few reasons. 1) they burn salvage and 2) in order to place the pylons a team will usually have to dominate the battle 1st anyway. I would suggest as a defending SG we should try to set them up the second the raid goes active at as many locations as possible. People should feel free to build a raid pylon each but not to use them in practice raids.

    Nova: np mate, RL is RL and another hero troller would have unevened things far too much imo

    Cambo: the sort of feedback im after thanks for stepping in to accept the raid on the hero side! I must comment, and it's through no fault of anyone really, and I know dawnie is highly ranked in many union SGs, but the lack of a 'leader' figure for the hero team would have been unhelpful, the hero team were also newer players to the SG in many cases, and even those that weren't... the villain team consisted of people who have been playing together for a looooong time, the teams were made by villain balancing imo, if more heroes had higher villains there would be more choice. only yourselves can sort this out.

    again i agree, remember pylons. the teams should definately make sure they are in the same zone incase a similar situation happens, remember; even if we build many more reclamators, the power source can be targeted for similar effect. i am not going to whine on, cos at the end of the day the SG is great overall, but the fact that people were almost totally disorganised before the raid just goes to show that our organisation/out of game time communication is poor sometimes. on the same theme, the attacking group actually get an advantage sometimes, when they wipe they are in a base far away and not attackable, this is where a buffer or 2 can really make a team of brutes unstoppable for the alpha, give the MMs time to sneak in and set up and the other support villains and damage dealers to follow without insta death. Learn to use the auto-doc.

    atm we have room to add a second medical room, although if we upgrade to the larger room (+batteries and 12 reclamators not 4) we will not have room in the base for a small aux medical room, this will be a rpoblem maybe and we need to weigh up pros and cons.

    Spawn killing, I hope everyone understands how hard a raid could be now, and that much persistance is needed, sometimes when defending a team may ned to regroup outside the base by choice, mor practice will forge our attitudes and prove our tactics right or wrong though. clicks all recharge when u leave the base in the same way that they do afdter arena matches, I think this is a bug and maybe it should be reported, in raids it is surely not WAI, infact I would rather play to our non-click reliant strengths than be battered by someone else's click-reliant strengths.

    you did the right thing in many ways by asking people to not pwn so intensely, Cambo, although we can all see now that a slight falter and you can lose, though for friends it was good .

    Fire-Beetle: we needed you, we always need you, and everyone. when a real raif kicks off and someone doesnt know what to do i will slap my head and ask how many practices they missed or how much arena or zone they have done to test their own mettle. there is no debt for player on player kills. btw all the xp came from base items and was minimal. you earn rep in raids too.

    Sin: 16v16 on a small base would be mad, ours is the smallest size you are allowed to raid on. While i agree there are a lot of issues with it, my intention is merely to make us a formidable pwning force, and we all like to pwn people, those of you that say you don't just havent had chance to pwn yet. mashing players is much more fun than mashing NPCs and takes a damn site more skill often too. When there is not one SG that we can't beat I will say we can retire and be happy with that, but until then, it would be nice to say something, even if that something is "lawl, pwnzed1". you did great mate, and im grateful that you didnt leave (we would have lost)

    Hammer: let us know mate, i'm sure a few of us will be up for it, although with their being less pressufe for 'everyone' to turn out i imagine we wont have 18 odd, more like 9.

    I'd also like to say that every toon in the raid had a chance to shine, even the really low levels! with buffs and the auto sk there is some balance, maybe not total, but let me tell you, my 27 dominator was taking out squishies with a little help from others, dawnie's Little Hawk was causing havoc with debuffs and some holds and damage, and the lower level villains were all contributing. the lack of acc is pretty easy to compensate for, and damage comes with control imo. Nano-gamma made as much of a mess of my acc and res as a 50 functionally would, and the 50s trollers dominated when not culled my mars as stalker. my point is, everyone has a role to play, we just need to learn that role better. Spork, i hate your drains .

    If there is enough interest here and on the global I will try and arrange another, keep PMing me days and times and just talk to one another about what you want to do, this is everyones group, i just kick you up the [censored] sometimes

    Also a final note to the leaders, if you are a leader and you have base edit rights, you also have raid set up rights, if you want to raid, raid if there is a team on, but remember things like 2nd medical rooms, and organising backup city zones if you lose the reclamators. positivity and planning and team work make things tick over, all use some forethought and things could be fun without me even having to organise anything, the base is ours as is everything, make it work for the scenarios you are in, just dont sell crafted items .

  19. I'd love to be able to show people how to take on certain enemies, and due to the nature of base decoration you coul set up scenarios easily. i do like this idea.

    Hammer, If the goonies are up for a raid we would surely be interested in it, no real bragging rights at stake tbh 'cos we are all learning still, our base doesn't shoot at people either, it just kind of pretends to be an arena so far XD.

    OK so i had a look, and as usual, it's really hard to get all the self buffs, utility and dmg in that an elec blaster should have. I have tried to get as much dmg out as possible at low levels with dmg slots in ranged powers, aim and BU coming in where SOs ar starting to be worth th recharge values, hasten early on to compensate for the slow recharge of elec, SC getting slotted then speeded up later when SOs are in again, stamina at 24 (totally don't need this tbh but i guess you'll want it, i did't get it til 50, best bet is to drop it at 37 tbh). Holds getting slotting asap. Melees aren't in until later, this is mainyl due to the speed of them, they are sooo slow and not end or recharge effective until slotted imo (i have played a pure melee blaster at low levels and they suck royally imo vs blasters and scrappers in team PvE). as the 20s go by melee comes in, although mainly to be used after range/AoE with aim and BU to really lay some hurt on. into the 30s going for a nuke (i wouldnt and didnt for PvP), PS, essential you do what I have suggested with this power imo, 35 and 38 are where SC and TC really get the next step of their use; PS and SG. The 40s are about speeding up some of the dmg, mainly ranged but also melee, VS here truely cranks you DPS and DPE if you can be bothered to keep it out, although i admit in teams you may not. LC at 49 is a nice touch, although there are many options, it is a great power if you want to use it as one although it doesnt make the set for me, I am looking at putting it into my build early on though when i respec.

    Aid self could go in pretty much anywhere, acro too, both alongthe solo line, EIGHT! attacks in a chain us a huge number, so dont mind the lack of recred in the mid lvls, it shouldnt matter, although u may burn end. at 37 you can safely drop stamina for PvE solo/team and get slotted PS, again you can drop SG at 41 and go dual hold instead of tri hold, both work well. Any pointers or questions would be nice for this build, i havent played this exact order, although i think it may work, my largest concern is the lack of dmg early on (up to 30 ish), i really didn't feel like the DPS was there, although from mid 30s this build will probably outdo any blaster in PvE large teams.

    best advice, ALWAYS have an empath or kin with you and forget stamina, thats what i did and i had more FUN for it.
