  1. The exploration badge "Grim Fandango" near a pile of bones was a good one. Loved that game, classic!
  2. Hi guys, i will keep this short.

I wanted a toon that will debuff enemies a great deal, i figured the -defence earth control brings will sync nicely with radiation emission.

What i wanted to know is if you think there are better combo's out there. I want to be able to Hold AV's and the sort as well, its really going to be built for TF's but i might also try soloing GM's with it.

Sorry i thought you meant you were trying human form. Dwarf form is great, the mire does nice damage and its two hitting melee attacks rotate well. If you are in a team then go Nova form, its cone and AoE will surpass Dwarf Mire.

If you read Dech's guide you can't go wrong. Playing a warshade is all about timing, you need to be aware of what powers are charged before you drop forms so you know you aren't going to hit the floor.
  4. Honestly mate, i don't think human form is that great of a choice whilst levelling. Prior Eclipse it is going to be really difficult, even more so when it isn't perma.

I say go Tri-Form, you will take things down a lot quicker at your level and the dwarf can save your hide.

I used to be human form, but when i realised that when i was on a team (which is where warshades shine) often everyone was dead before i could get an unchain essence in. Maybe this is more noticeable at level 50 when you are teaming with other AoE capable super-heroes.

Right now im using Dwarf Mire as a main source of AoE, i have its recharge at 5 seconds over a 10 second duration which is nice. I'm pulling out way more damage than unchain essence could ever bring.

Also peeves about human form which also irritated me was that Orbiting death just seemed to make me an aggro magnet, and if you don't have the resistance to ignore this, then you might find yourself on the ground a lot in lower levels.

TL;DR - If you want to go human form do it at 50 or when you can get Eclipse
  5. Hi guys, i don't make builds that often and i am trying to get as much recharge as possible for my Warshade, not only for perma eclipse but trying to get mire there too.

As you might be able to guess from the 4 purple sets it isn't your average. I have gotten my melee, ranged and AoE defence to 17% but S&L is hovering around 11.7%. With perma eclipse i'm not too fussed about the defence though.

Should i be going down this route, or should i try getting more defence? Also with inherent fitness working in all forms would i be better off going tri-form and how does damage compare?

Also, with the increase bonus of healing with incarnate slot should i try and fit essence drain in and lose maybe gravitiv emenation?

  6. Thanks for the replies, i do know how to apply them i was just unsure as to what they actually where because i couldn't find any items in the costume creator.

Thanks again and i received mine via PM on the forums but was also notified by my e-mail.

    haha burnt!

I have a willpower brute, can't say im a fan of it to be honest. If i could go back and repick, i wouldn't hesitate about picking invuln.
  9. I have spent hours re-doing my build (to be honest i had no idea what i was doing before) but after spending a lot of time on it, i have come up with what i think is a pretty decent warshade human form build.

Just giving some totals off the top of my head i have 98.8% recharge and my eclipse is perma when hasten is activated by around 2.7 seconds leeway. 5 enemies gets me fully res capped too which is nice.

Obviously i have been aiming for recharge in my build. When fitness becomes inherent i will be looking at one more LoTG + Rech (if it is possible). That should bring me up a tasty sum. I have a lot of mez resist too, if you are going human form i recommend you lay the aegis: status res down and a few of the impervious skin: status res too where you can. When i get more purple sets down i am going to have to rethink a lot of it so i don't waste any set bonuses.

I couldnt bare the thought of slotting a tri-form build lol...

  11. Today was great, thank you guys so much!

I didn't even notice there was an event today. I was standing merrily in Atlas Park when i saw a blob of red text appear. Thinking it was a shutdown message my first reaction was... great .
Then i realised it was mod08 telling us all to come down to Pocket D for a party, so my friend and i stopped planning my build on my Warshade and headed straight there.
Loads of people came too which was great, aside the whining for power dampening fields (which suddenly turned around when zombies were spawned lol!) it was a blast.
I was one of the lucky ones who won a party pack too, what a great day haha. Although i had to leave early in an emergency to help my Grandma so i didn't get to see it through to the end!

    Peace out! x
  12. Thanks ketch, i will write it down and look for it tomorrow. Appreciate the help!
  13. You all make great points and i am changing my mind on the matter to be honest, i will give manga and anime a go because it is only fair i suppose. If so many people like it then there must be something to shine. What are your favourite manga's and anime's for reference.. i would prefer it in comic/written form however.

And yes out of all those people you have listed i only know of Pikachu.. obviously this is because i don't know a thing about its iconic figures. I guess it just hasn't had the attention to that of a comic book hero.

Also bindweed thanks for your post it was very interesting. I think i have to agree now with most of your points when taking the other's into consideration also.

I read somewhere a few weeks ago, a bloke who had collected 4'000 comic books over the years managed to sell them for £20'000. Not bad if he bought them for around 2 pounds each that's a 12k profit approx. Value can increase over time...

BTW, I think the OP is just prejudiced against anime because it is "mainstream." He did not give a good reason why he does not like it.
I don't hate it but i do not like it though. To say i am prejudiced about it is over the top too. My best friend in game loves it but i don't hold it against him. I guess i was never interested because i was brought up to a different appreciation of art i suppose. Though this thread isn't about hating anime its just my thoughts on what i believe it is doing to comic books.

Though thanks for everyone's opinons it is interesting to read about what you have to say.

And as for the mainstream part of your comment, i must agree i do not like maistream things, such as pop music and the like. Though just because something is mainstream doesn't void it of any talent or creation (well most of the time it does) but there are definite examples out there of decent creation.

I did not know that but the more i think about it i can definitely see it. It is a shame of course.. but this is about comic books and the loss of an iconic part of American history. I don't know what the Japanese may have lost from their culture as a result of being influenced by Disney, though I'm sure another thread could be made about it.
  18. I just find it sad that a country like America is losing its roots. You know what i mean.. just list the super heroes from America. People are getting more into the Japanese culture which isn't a bad thing of course, but it can be because when the Japanese experience the American culture in say 50 years from now.. comic books could be completely gone from shops or production.

You never know, the amount of comic books being published has fallen greatly over the years and its not so much the Heroes that will leave. It is the comic books themselves.

I can see your point here, but surely it is harder to come up with fresh material from an ongoing story than a one off. Taking Batman as an example, think of all the material that has been produced for him over the years. Stories do come to and end in comics, but its the ending that can often want you reading more.

I agree with you here, as i said in all forms of the arts whether it is music or art there are crap artists out there that can still make a lot of money (Cheryl Cole anyone?). I suppose it boils down to personal opinion whether what is crap or not.

There are graffiti artists who think Banksy is pretty crap, all he has done is recycle other artists material and use stencils. Something which is looked heavily down upon on in graffiti culture. Yet people who are unaware of the culture pay loads for it.

I have not heard of one iconic character from Anime, the only thing i have heard about is Naruto and i really do not like that. Everyone has heard of Spider Man and Bat Man. Yet it is these characters who lose their origin within comic books.
  20. Hi guys, as the title of the thread says;

Do you think that Anime art is ruining the true Comic Books of yester-year? I am getting tired of meeting everyone on the internet who plays video games that describes their passionate love for Anime.

Now i was brought up with high quality fine art and oil paintings. My grandma was a teacher and taught me well. Whenever i was young she would turn the TV off whenever i watched cartoons because "they were horrible drawings". I know that seems a bit harsh but now i thank her for it.

It seems people nowadays would rather watch Anime's online rather than buy a comic book, sit through and read it to the end.

Why is this? Do people not like to engage their minds anymore with reading or simply because they don't like comic books and would prefer to watch a film?

I for one am not a fan of Anime as you can probably tell, though i don't mind those of you who are (which must be about 90% of the playerbase) i just can't manage to get to grips with it.

I was at an interview a few months back for college, showing my work. My interviewer said it was refreshing to see someone who hasn't followed the crowd and taken to the mainstream Japanese form of art That made me feel good and told me a lot about the people applying for my course.

Now don't get me wrong i am all for other forms of Art but compared to the time it takes to produce other things of a higher standard it just doesn't seem rewarding or an achievement to draw it.

I myself have tried fine art, oil paintings, charcoal and even spray painting through my history. So i am definitely open to more forms of art.

The problem i have is that i think it is ruining the "golden era" so to say of comic books. I know some of you are thinking "well comic books aren't exactly fine art" and i agree with you. But I'm not seeing this style of art around any more which is a shame. It seems to have been overtaken by what i think is a mainstream style of art. Much like how real Rap music has been dominated by the main stream artists of today.. The same example can be given for rock or metal.

Now i love comic books, i am grateful for everything about them. They have brought us iconic figures who children can look up to and of course brought us this game .

So i wanted to know your thoughts on the matter and whether anyone out there agrees with me.

Thanks for reading guys! Sorry about the colour i thought it would be easier to read

Some of you may have noticed that my Avatar is from an Anime, the only one i have ever watched. Ironic? Perhaps but i have to say i liked the concept haha.
  21. Hi there, thanks for this guide it was very interesting, i seem to have got what powers would be better off avoided and what should be kept in my own build spot on. Though reading through your guide i didn't see anything about dark detonation. What are your thoughts on this power?
  22. Nevermind i have it sorted lol this thread can be thrown away!
  23. I say just get high instead.
  24. Yeah ta for the reply i went to pick Black Scorpian lol.
  25. Hi guys im a level 50 Demon Summon/Pain and i'm wondering what you guys think would be better between Ghost Widow or Scorpion patron?

The extra defence seems nice but i think GW's choices look more fun :P
