Same as prior years. I man the door while the wife and son go out T&T. However, at 9pm, I sit down to watch The Walking Dead. My lady will take over door duty at that point.

How you view the character in question can have a lot to do with where you find redraw on the "nuisance" to "oh, gods below, the horror" scale.
Example:
I min/max my main a lot. As he uses claws, anything causing redraw is downright earthshatteringly detrimental. During pylon runs I bounce between not allowing PB to fire off at all or only allowing it to fire off as it's crashing and then only by skipping the lowest DPA attack in the chain and letting PB fill that hole.
On my dp/storm corruptor, I couldn't care less about redraw. She's all about style and her performance is based on "can I solo this mission? well, goody, her performance is fine." -
The OP specifically asked about combat performance.
The answer is "redraw is almost always detrimental to combat performance."
Redraw adds time to an attack chain without increasing the damage of the chain.
DPS is calculated by dividing damage by time. As time increases, DPS decreases.
Possible exception: An attack that will cause redraw is so good that adding it and the associated redraw time creates a higher DPS situation than leaving the power out of the chain.
Example: It was my hope that a claws brute would be better off with the single target chain of followup, focus, slash, gloom, redraw, repeat than he would be with followup, focus, slash, strike, repeat. After calculating the DPS of both chains, I found my hope dashed. -
Quote:While I'm really with Schismatrix on this topic, I like Kractis_Sky's take as well. Load up on power pool mitigation, get taunt and provoke and invoke panic.Tank as a taunt-bot. Take the 1st power in the secondary as required but dont use it, Select a primary that has no or dont take/toggle a damage aura and simply taunt and maybe "soft controls" like fault or hand clap for 0 damage stuns. I would be an ideal pacifist... "Please, hit *me* not them." Useful? Dunno, probably could be.
W/e u decide - Best of luck leveling...lol
Who cares that you're running 10 toggles if you're not using end attacking? -

Quote:Wellll, I know of one case that breaks this guideline, but I haven't crossed all my Ts yet to publish.
That's not to say one is outright better than the other. -
I tried to skip fitness on my new claws/sr brute. I snapped at 22 and respeced into swift/health/stamina. Now he's the sickening blender that he should be. I'll respec him again come I-19.
-
My mains are already incarnates of themselves. Have been since level 1. I-19/20/21 whatever will be nothing but them coming more into their own.

Thus staying true to the superhero comics genre.

I'm sure I'm among those adding to her issues. When I make a female character, most of them, unless concept dictates otherwise, work like this:
Shoulders to the right
Chest to the right
Waist to the left
Hips to the right... or left... but all the way either way
Legs go all the way up. (Cuz she just had them lengthened.) -
Hmm. I'd have to say that someone else, then, is overly sensitive regarding this topic and your response of telling her to "f off" should probably be given sooner than later.
-
Is it not possible that she's giving you grief because she knows it gets under your skin?
If you're concerned, use the slider. That's what it's there for. Shove it to the left and you probably won't ever hear about it again. -
Ohhhh, yea I misread the hell out of that. Thought you were saying that your connections to the drama types were why you watched it.
-
I thought they were called controllers and dominators because they controlled/dominated the enemy.

Quote:<---First opera at 11 years old. First college opera as the lead, yay for the soprano voice at 12 that didn't change until 13. Musicals over the next few years at the same college. Migrate fully to plays in high school. Theater/physics major drop out in college. Hell... maybe that's WHY I can't watch the show.
Maybe because I hung around the drama (and musical) geeks for middle, high and a bit of college that I'm more accepting of the show's look. -
No. I need them to look good, be fun and lack annoyance.

Quote:You are, unfortunately, very wrong. Given the desire to do so, which I don't have, I can powerlevel a character from 1 to 50 using nothing but paper/scanner missions in days, not weeks. The only way in CoH is through the use of the AE. They need to restrict this to level 40 or higher. In addition, you will only level, you will not understand the game. I'm have 3 50s now and now that I'm done grinding am I really having fun with the game. The extra slots for costumes, the SGs, the AE, badge hunting, mentoring, 2nd builds on each character, etc.
And I'm bad at it. -

Quote:I watched the intro SFDF (lips) and about 10 seconds of OatFP... at which point I changed the channel.BOOM!
I think I'm legally entitled to take BillZBubba and force him to watch the episode, Clockwork Orange style.
To make me sit through the whole thing? There would be violence. -
I see where my error in all of this has come from. I foolishly overlooked that the farming tests would be using missions specifically designed to benefit ss/fire.
In order to compete, I would need to design a mission full of enemies weak to lethal that used nothing but fire attacks and had ample knockback protection so that I could add shockwave to the mix.
My bad. Sorry to intrude. -
Good stuff, Fiery-Enforcer. I doubt that the damage difference between death shroud and blazing aura is enough to make up that 40k inf/min difference. Were you using fiery embrace on your SS/Fire? If so, that would make a considerable difference.
