You pay 15 a month to get what they give us. That includes forum access, server access, character storage, game fixes, game updates, etc.

They attempt to walk a fine line between giving us enough to keep our 15 a month coming in and nickle and dime-ing us as much as they can with extra packs and expansions.

They've obviously done a pretty good job of that considering the number of 7 year vets that have all the costume packs.

But make no mistake, nothing we've ever received was free.

people seem to forget that not only are we getting FREE content upgrades,
Comments like this annoy me. Every single shred of content that we get is paid for by our $15 buck a month subscription fees and whatever other bit of cash they can get from costume packs and expansions.

There has NEVER been anything "free." Ever.

There will be grinding. There's no getting around that. This entire game from level 1 to level 50 T4x5 is nothing but grinding. Grinding minions and liets and bosses into a fine paste. Hundreds of thousands of them.

But if I'm going to grind through missions, I don't want the added nuisance of teaming dumped on top of it.

We'll get more ways to get our threads. I hope that the entire shard business is tossed and threads take their place. It was a very bad decision to leave the shard junk in the game at all. The conversion rates are beyond idiotic.

... and I am supposed to want to do this across 30+ level 50's
I don't think the devs EVER intended for us to get all of our 50s fully incarnated.

My main (you know, <--- that guy over there) has T4, T4, T3x3. I *want* to incarnate out my warshade for no other reason but that I know he'll be a lot more fun with permanent mez protection.

But getting him there won't be fun. I know it won't be fun. I've already done it on one character and it was fun for a bit but stopped being so. I can't bring myself to do it. I've been playing lowbies instead.

    Hate 'em, don't play 'em.

It's normal. We all have our thing.

Barring your personal preferences on normal play, do agree that Shockwave is in fact inefficient from a kill speed standpoint?
No. Too many variables. Look at my main, claws/sr. AoE output comes from three attacks. Do I believe that the knockback caused by shockwave is so detrimental that I would have an overall boost in kill time if I were to drop it from my chain? Not at all. But that's something that's easy to test.
  8. Nope, I haven't.
    1: It's never a constant.
2: In normal gameplay, I'm far more likely to use shockwave for the joy of seeing the baddies get knocked around the battlefield than I am to use it strategically.
3: When I do care about kill speed efficiency with aoes, I don't use it. The only time I care about kill speed efficiency when aoes are involved is when I'm farming with my claws/fa brute in AE and then I'm playing in a way I would find abhorrent in normal play.

In the end, it's so easy to steamroll the content from 1 to 50 when on teams that I just can't bring myself to care about whether enemies are being knocked around or whether I'm utilizing every power to 100% efficiency. That extra 5 minutes per TF/SF just isn't important to me.

The number crunching, DPS tracking, minmaxing builds, etc is for when I solo. When teamed, I'd be happy running around with energy blasters, storm defenders and peacebringers. That's how little knockback bothers me.

So to answer your question directly: What will kill an enemy faster? Use shockwave (damage) to push them into a burn patch (more damage) and then use spin on them (more damage) or leave them where they're at and just use spin? I'd bet #1 wins, but I don't know. Too many variables.
  9. On top of that, are you using binds to combine insps so that you can chew as many red insps as possible? I also can't hit 2-3 minutes to 750 tickets, but I don't even have IOs yet so I'm not too concerned. I did notice a solid jump in my times after deciding to what amounts to eating every insp that drops.
  10. ...

I just explained to my non-gaming wife that yall were stating this might be a HP MMO. She turned to me and stated, "Oh, I'd be all over that."

This is the woman that in 7 years of playing CoH I've managed to have her create ONE costume for me. At no point have I ever seen her show even the slightest interest in anything video game related.

Guess I'll need to build a new rig for her.

-Combat Flight currently has only positional defense, unlike Hover, so it needs typed defenses added to it.
That should be considered a bug and not a change request. I've just bugged it in game as such and suggest everyone else do the same.
  12. I'd call 122000 kills a good sample size.
  13. My lady is betting that it's the encyclopedia.
  14. Issue 30: What are you people still doing here?

I did quite a bit of that last night. If the end usage wasn't so high, I'd leave it on all the time during combat because anytime there's a pause between animations, she drops into the idle beast run stance and then back up to the next animation. Quite creepy, really.

And lets be honest.. the forums have seen better days and you probably aren't missing much anyway.
First thing I noticed after my 7 month break. Something's changed around here.

On topic, Techbot Alpha, I only use Chrome for browsing these days and do so on three commputers: XP workstation at work, XP workstation at home, Win 7 laptop at home. I've been back for about 5 weeks now, I guess, and I've been incorrectly logged out of the forums 4 times.

Annoying? Yes. Losing track of new posts is definitely that. Low priority on the "fix it" scale. More than likely.

I've also noticed in game that enemies are fleeing far too easily when hit by ANY debuff, even defense debuffs from claws/slash or tohit debuffs from dark melee.

And animation rooting is broken badly. I can hover around with my kheldian and have attack animations fail to fire off regularly and no rooting occurring at all.

The point to these other items? I don't see them getting fixed either.

Thanks, folks! And yes, Julia from Hellraiser came to mind while making her.

    Thanks, Devs!

After many years, I've finally been able to make Skinless Scarlet thanks to the steampunk pack.

    Cheers!

Gotta love a fine spray of blood in the morning.

She has issues keeping her excitement contained.

But such lovely, well defined muscles.

The only problem: Who is going to clean up this mess?

Edit: Oh yea: DarkMelee/Regen scrapper. All colored darkred to red. Thanks to power customization for this as well!
  20. Offline SG/VG invites so that I could invite my own characters to my own groups. I've been asking for this since bases were created.

Ahh, do I have to spell it out for you, EG? Here, I'll do it carefully so that you can't go cry to the mods and get my post pulled.

    Your statement:

Because you know, it's not like there are very cheap KB sets which allow you to get your KB back without any sacrifice in Damage.
I gave you an example showing that your statement was stupid. You can't defend against it. You also won't own up to your statement being stupid.

Instead you throw out "take a power you won't use so that you can poorly slot the power you do use."

Why is that? Well, I know, but I have to make sure I don't break any rules telling you.

    Then don't make them.
Human only. You fail as usual, EG. Quit dodging. Show me slotting that will push it back to knockback that doesn't lose anything offered by the armageddon set.

So Bill how many slots do you devote to Solar Flare now? What enhancement numbers does that give you? What bonuses?
That's where my 6 Armageddons go. Tell me, oh infinitely wise EG, what slotting involving a KB set matches those stats including the set bonuses.

Edit: In case it wasn't clear, I hate the KB on solar flare and would love to see it changed to knockdown or up. I just hate stupid comments.
