I consider getting less stuff unless I pay more for it getting screwed over.

Arcanaville has some decent points in the other threads regarding this topic and I've stated my willingness to be patient and see how this pans out.

I don't, however, see any point in holding back my opinions when I see something come into play that can so easily be turned in a negative direction.

Nobody knows. I was being flippant but I'm a bit saddened that folks are so willing to get screwed over.

Your subscription plus the 400 points should net to what you're getting now *combined* at the very least, and for this model to be truly successful your subscription alone, without even counting the 400 points, should continue to deliver $14.95 of content.
    Yes, it should, shouldn't it?
    2004: Issues 1, 2
    2005: Issues 3, 4, 5, 6
    2006: Issues 7, 8
    2007: Issues 9, 10, 11
    2008: Issues 12, 13
    2009: Issues 14, 15, 16
    2010: Issues 17, 18, 19
    2011: Issues 20, 21

    Average per year: 2.625 issues

I won't bore us all with the details of each issue, but you state that our continued $14.95 + the incoming 400 points per month should continue to give us the same level of content than we've gotten in the past.

I agree with you. Unfortunately, I don't believe that this is going to be the case as I've stated before. I find it FAR more likely that to get similar levels of content we'll end up paying 50 to 100% more per month just to break even.

You may not be. Maybe I'm the one that missed something. I'd love to hit F2P go live with 28800 points. I don't see it happening though.

Did you read something somewhere that stated paragon points were going to be granted for total paid time rather than starting at 400 for July and another 400 per month after that?
  7. Cool. It'll probably only cost 400 points to unlock.

  9. I only play on Pinnacle and I've deleted more characters than most players have created. It's not a biggie. Email their inf off. Use respecs to snag enhancements you don't want to lose and email those of. Delete. Move on.

I have about 30 characters who want 5 LOTG Global recharges each, and I am an altaholic who never does any task forces at all except on my badge character. So I never earn Reward Merits. So it takes me 20 days of doing tips every single day to earn 5 LOTGs for a character.

So frankly, I'd just like to spend $750 on their points system and buy 150 LOTGs for my various 30 characters that I like to flit between, and be done. Maybe another $250-$500 in Freedom Points to pick up all the Basilisk Gazes I would probably like (hey, I like controllers).

Just a suggestion. I'd rather spend the money on that than on an iPad2 or a Xoom, if I'm going to get myself a birthday or Christmas "happy".

    /flame on!
You're doing it wrong. I needed some level 25 LotG +recharges. I went to the market, saw that they were selling for 150million inf each, and bought three of them.

Odd. My 5870 HD is running fine with Water FX at max. I'd be glad to compare settings if you like.

Yup. Looks like the Praetorian version is Elemental Dual Blade/Somethin instead of Ice/Fire blaster.

Thus my response. I do not see the majority of the players of this game moving away from their existing home servers for no other reason but to escape what amounts to long-term trial account users.

(Let's not forget the lack of innate KB protection, and the fact you can't DR when you're flying through the air, on your back, and kicking back up.)

Arcanaville's post is brilliant and does provide some great insights into comparing Scrapper secondaries, but it gets a little tiresome seeing it thumped as WoG Dark Armor is GREAT when even later in said guide, Arcana admits it's not a true simulation of all play factors.
No mathematical analysis is going to cover all possibilities. The scope is too large to deal with. What they CAN do is give us a mostly accurate representation for MOST cases.

On top of that, brute and scrapper secondaries are far more alike than they are different.

An INV brute is tougher than an INV scrapper thanks to what? Higher base HP and higher mitigation caps.
Same is true for the DA brute versus the DA scrapper.

It is safe to say that in MOST cases, IF scrapper DA > scrapper INV, then brute DA > brute INV. (Note: I'm not sure that either case there is true since the last round of INV buffs.)
  18. What's with the funky soul patch?
  19. GATE-keeper,

    Here's what mine looks like:

    =(ROUNDUP((D2/0.132),0)+1)*0.132

    Arcanaville,

I'm also curious about your lack up "up" in relation to "round" in your typed equation.

I don't get that either. Alpha is part of incarnate. Why does it have a "different" system at all?

The devs figured out that having three types of inf was a ridiculous idea. Why didn't they learn from that mistake with the incarnate system?

Again, scrap the shard system entirely. Do a wholesale swap of shards to threads everywhere they show up. Have all shard components converted to equivalent random thread components. Be done with it.

Citation needed. Some spawns, like some of the DE in the tip missions, have been given higher base tohit. There appear to be some enemies that are getting tohit buffs in Praetoria. This changes nothing for all the rest of the content.

The only way to fix the "everybody gets SR levels of defense" issue is to fix the bonuses coming out of IOs. What have they done there? Added more by giving some typed where positional was granted, gave positional where typed was granted and nerfed BotZ.

    That's not a fix.

First off equating one badly broken power ( which burn was at the time ) with an entire system isnt even a correct comparison. The problem with that was the power itself.. not the system...
What Tony is describing was a systemic issue. It wasn't just the power burn. It was the pre-GDN, pre-ED, pre-aggro cap, pre-aoe max targets caps, etc system that allowed for dumpster diving.

    You're correct, however, that ED's implementation was a cluster#&$^.

All you have to do to access the game and enjoy free content updates is pay your flat rate subscription.
I'm one of those people that have all the packs (cept the Valk/Mac pack, never got around to it.)

If you pay for something, it isn't free. We pay the devs to develop their game. Every update, every "issue," is paid for with our subscription fees. Or do you really think that the subscription spikes at issue release mean nothing?
