I would offer to help, but the only ATI card I have running now is my old AGP X800XT in my workstation.

Even if I upgrade the drivers and get everything functional, that doesn't necessarily mean my settings will work for PCI-E cards or newer versions of the cards due to hardware differences.

I'll do it anyway.

Yes, you can. And apparently at 54 months you can have Sands, Wand and Staff. Or Sands, Wand and Axe.

If you're natural origin, you get bonus damage with both Staff and Wand. Good to be a natural at 54 months. Sucks for everyone else.

No. And it's been proven to be a driver issue. Apparently those running *nix with *nix ATi drivers on X1+ series cards do not experience this issue.

For those that choose to avoid teaming, you can make 50 in the same amount of time soloing nothing but paper/scanner missions on the highest difficulty that you can manage.

As of an issue or two ago, the -renderthread 1 flag is enabled by default.

However, the game will not use more than 2 cores.

In other words, no, you'll need to seek other causes for your framerate issues. Best bet is to post dxdiag and hijackthis logs to a new thread in the tech forum.

So just add Conserve Power, Boost Range, Power Boost/Build Up, Temp Invulnerability, Force of Nature and Indomitable Will to each of the Patrons. This way each patron has ten powers to offer. Also eliminating the can't repec out of Patron Choice problem.

If you follow the steps for moving as laid out in the OP, the updater will only update anything that's changed from the last time you updated to today. Which I'm betting means today's patch and that's it.

In the two posts you linked, the first shows a flat cap at 50 on defense at 1.75.

The second link shows 2 caps at 50, based on AT, of 2.0038 and 2.2505.

The only tohit cap listed for 50 is 2.0035.


If we ignore the 1st link def cap, and use the 2nd link, then a scrapper at 50 has the same defense cap value as the tohit cap.


Here's what this implies to me, knowing that I'm probably wrong.

Base tohit in PvP is 50% or .5

If the cap is 2.0035, then a player is SUPPOSED to be only able to add 150.35% tohit. A max def SR scrapper under elude has around 45+45+25.2 = 115.2% defense. Nowhere near the cap. But lets get silly and use the caps in your equations.

3slotted acc attacker with capped tohit against capped defense using scrapper:

Total = 1.95 * (200.35 - 200.35) = 9.75% chance to hit. Floored.

This would mean that Defense > Tohit within the design of CoH/V IF the tohit cap was actually in place.

So now the question:

Wouldn't it be an easy fix for PvP to put into place tohit and defense caps of 100%?

Then an eluded scrapper would be at the defense cap, as it should be, and all attacks, even at the tohit cap, painfully easy to get there, will still be floored.

And then nothing more needs be done, yes?

EDIT: Hell, if you want tohit to maintain an edge, make the tohit cap 125 and the defense cap 100.

Then attackers will still be able to get damn near the original 50/50 chance to hit.

So pohsyb agreed that the lack of a tohit cap was a bug? I find that fascinating. Castle never responded when I asked him about fixing the +200% tohit buff and -200% defense debuff on Geas/FoN.

As ToG asked, what are the defense and tohit caps supposed to be?

If it's 200%, is that a hard 200 cap, meaning 50% chance tohit in PvP +150%? Or 250% total up against a 200% defense cap?
