  2. To those complaining about there being "only" 15 costume parts with this pack, take a look at these numbers.

Mutant pack: 15 parts (6 bioluminescent, 9 organic armor)
Magic: 21+ (21 female witch counting multiple versions of bolero and witch tobottom/gloves, couldn't check male/huge at the moment)
Mac (Valkyrie): 18 (male/female/huge are all the same I believe)
    Tech: 15
Natural: 18 (mostly Warrior parts and variants of)
Don't have any of the other packs to check those. Also didn't count the GR sets.

15 isn't abnormal, on the low end but not like it hasn't been done before. Also many of these parts can be tough to mix and match with other sets, but with the Origins pack we're getting 15 pieces that can go with nearly anything. The only thing this pack is missing is a temp power but I for one will forgive that because of the sheer number of combinations that these parts will be useful on, unlike a temp power that seems virtually useless...Shadowy Presence.
  3. 200 years after the nuclear war, people will be using the tops off THESE as money. THAT's how awesome these designs are.

It SHOULD act like +0x1, but maybe it isn't and is instead getting occasionally tagged as something else? As a general rule of thumb, I always try to set my difficulty manually, even if I'm just reaffirming what a character is created with, just to avoid doing this. I'd suggest people who face absurd ambushes try that and see if anything changes.
I was getting these ridiculous sized Tsoo ambushes before the difficulty settings changed. Running solo on the base setting 6-8 Tsoo for the costume slot mission. Now, I just immediately auto-complete it. I've never done the arc in the OP but this kind of hijinks does not sound like fun.
  5. Wouldn't surprise me too much if these have been mentioned already.

Empathy, all of it. It's like there's only 3 animations for the entire set. The 'hands out towards target' single target animation such as in Heal Other, 'arms out to the sides' for PBAOEs and the 'one hand towards target'. Just a little variety there would be nice.

Another I'm thinking is Spines. At the very least Barb Swipe and Ripper. The wild flailing of Barb Swipe just seems a little too over the top for a power that only has 3 damage ticks (not counting the dot). Ripper just looks...silly. Without the backflip it wouldn't look too bad. Add in a bit of a charge-up to make up for the animation time lost by removing the backflip. This one I have a specific idea for. Start with a hunched over, hands to chest type of thing similar to a couple of the blaster nukes with the spines retracted. As the 'charge' builds over the second or so it'd take, the spines would re-extend. As soon as the spines get to the head/shoulders, the charge releases and hits in the 90 degree cone it's supposed to.

Lastly (unless I think of another before finishing this...again) the melee PBAOE attacks such as Whirling Sword (Broadsword), Spin (Claws), Fire Sword Circle (Fire), The Lotus Drops (Katana), Whirling Hands (Energy), Whirling Axe (Axe), Whirling Mace (War Mace) and Ice Sword Circle (Icy Assault). That's 8 melee PBAOE powers out of 15 (that have a pbaoe damage power, only counted Fire once) that use the exact same animation, maybe a couple others that I missed. For Energy, Fire and Ice the animation is fine, it even works perfectly for Energy and reasonably well for Fire and Ice. But when I think 'spin' or 'whirling' anything I don't think half-spin, hop into the air and drop to the ground on your knee. I think something a little closer to Whirlwind.

edit: Forgot about Ice Sword Circle

    Don't even joke about this.

Electronic signature is much quicker and doesn't involve sorting masses of snail mail. I don't see how so many jumped to the conclusion that it would be an actual physical signature.
The reason some of us "jumped" to the conclusion is because an "electronic signature" means nothing more than clicking I Agree on the EULA screen in the launcher. Why mention it being signed if it isn't physically signed.

Okay, slottable Fitness inherent at level 1 or 2, great. Now what's this about a *SIGNED* NDA? As in actually literally signed? Implies something BIG that they want testers to really understand to keep quiet about it. Let the rampant baseless speculation begin! ...again!

    CoH/CoV Novel?

Web of Arachnos is generally considered to be better, partly because Freedom Phalanx contradicts a bunch of stuff and makes a lot of the characters we all know and love act very differently than we have them in-game. Overall it's not a bad read at least once.
  9. Having the same type of problem. A moment of flickering on the enhancement screen, the training up power selection/slot placement screens, and out in Praetoria. Out in Praetoria it seems as if it's momentarily putting a shadow over everything. Gonna try to disable shadows and see if that helps any.

    Win 7
    GTX 260 v197.45 drivers
Almost all Ultra settings at max except Ambient Occlusion

edit: It does have something to do with shadows. Any setting higher than Lowest causes the flickering for me.

That looks to me like the Demise mask, as seen here:

Would be nice to have that back and to be able to add to and/or edit other items onto that character's costume.
Agreed. I saw someone with this in Pocket D during the winter event and thought she'd just used the tights and colored the secondary to match until I asked.

What I'd also like to see return is the original Winged Boots which had a full body "blur" effect in addition to the waist-down version we have now.

    More or less.

To the OP's questions, they did say that it does give a minor self-damage boost. No other details than that. Wouldn't surprise me much if there were other powers that had other similar effects to the kinetics we have now.
  12. Yeah, the costume window fix would be really nice, then I can undo my temporary fix...hopefully.
  13. Thanks for all the replies. Guess I'll try disabling Aero first while in-game. If that doesn't solve the problem (static video after tabbing back) I'll try windowed mode.
  14. First things first, I want to make clear that this is NOT a problem with i17 since it has been happening for quite a while before that. I'm just starting to get fed up with it.

When I start CoH, everything loads fine and works quite well, until I need to alt-tab. Tabbing out works, switching back, not so much. Whatever image was on screen at the moment I tabbed out will still be there, as if pasted over the game, but the UI works fine. I can turn and (mostly through random clicking or luck) target things and the UI acts appropriately. Now if I tab out again and back, everything works fine. This only happens when CoH disables Aero upon loadup. Now, if it disables Aero and thus causes this issue, I can exit the game and restart, it will start properly and I can tab back and forth to my heart's content with no problems.

    Win 7 64-bit Ultimate
Nvidia gtx260 running 197.45 drivers (was using 196.34 drivers previously and still had this problem)

No significant hardware has been installed since long before this problem started. I have the feeling it might be some odd glitch or incompatibility with the video drivers or maybe a video setting I forgot to set when I reinstalled 7 back in March. So, anyone have any ideas what could be causing it? I'd rather avoid rolling back to old drivers if at all possible, but will if it'll help solve this issue.
  15. Nvidia gtx260, version 197.45 drivers on Windows 7 64 bit. They seemed to work okay on test. I could change shadow settings with little more than a few seconds of a pause.
  16. That is exactly what's happening to me too, 'cept that the entire box pops up before freezing on me.
  17. The latest version of TweakCoH is 3 years old. I was hoping for something similar since I can't turn my Shadow settings up without crashing.

If anyone happens to know where the graphics settings are in the registry, I am fully willing to take responsibility for blowing my Windows up.
  18. I've got this problem too, but it's not just the tailor screen. It's related to the costume window. Also, the contact listings do it too, or at least did on test. I haven't checked them on live yet since I'm having too much fun crashing my client with Shadow settings and opening the costume window.

    For reference:
    Win 7 64-bit
    Nvidia gtx260 w/197.45 drivers
lots of other stuff that doesn't matter in the slightest

Side note: I can open the costume window and tailor ONCE. The second time it crashes.

    a little story

Dual wielding whips? *ponders* Are you pondering what I'm pondering?
  20. So should we be expecting the War Witch Strike Force anytime soon? Or did I let the catgirl out of the bag on a new i19 feature?
  21. Hehe, thanks. I wasn't sure about Grenade but I couldn't find anything else. Figured it couldn't hurt to give it a shot. Good luck to ya next time!
  22. Looks like someone might have beat me to it, but on the chance that double frag grenades isn't acceptable...I present, just plain ol' regular Grenade. It's in there a half dozen times at least, and IS a longbow power.
