When you say that it is mostly based towards Hero/Resistance characters, do you mean that the "good" things they are doing are anti-Praetoria? As in, they are helping all these people so they can eventual tear down Cole's regime? Or is there just some generally bad stuff going on that will harm everyone?
Because I'm wondering if I should take my Hero Loyalist there. And that title is meant in its truest sense, he is a Loyalist that supports and fights for Cole's regime, but if he were on Primal Earth, he would absolutely be a hero, and is automatically drawn toward heroic things. -
I was also wondering if First Ward have anything to do with Praetoria? Yes, I know it's in Preatoria, and all the backstory behind it, I mean, is it at all related to the Resistance vs. Loyalist thing, or is it just another zone?

Quote:I appreciate your advice, but unfortunately that wouldn't help me. When I thought about going Premium, it was never a permanent thought. Seeing as I only intend to bring one of my characters down that Incarnate road he is currently Level 1, I thought I would unsubscribe, get him to Level 50, then resubscribe and be able to access the Incarnate content. Unfortunately, that character is a Mastermind. My intention of going Premium would be to save money, especially seeing as I have every intention of returning to VIP in the future. But because I would be forced to buy at least the Mastermind archetype that idea would no longer work. But I appreciate your help.So instead of subscribing for two months, buy 2400 PP and unlock them. They're now unlocked forever, and you never have to pay another penny to play them (including subscribing). To go along with those PP you just bought, you get two Reward Tokens to bump you further up the tiers.

Quote:Wait...I would lose access to Masterminds and Controllers!? WTF.You will keep access to everything in Going Rogue (sans Incarnates because it requires GR+sub) - you keep Demon Summoning/Electric Control, but MMs/Trollers require a separate unlock. You will lose access to First Ward. FW is a zone pack for 600pp. You will lose access to Time Manipulation characters. TM is available for 800pp
Smart way to get me not to unsub...my main characters are a Mastermind and a Controller (and a Dominator). -
I want to clarify a few things about what I would or wouldn't be able to access if I cancelled by subscription.
So, currently, I have access to all of the content in the game through my VIP subscription (not including extraneous powersets etc.).
If I were to cancel my VIP subscription, what would I retain? I have purchased Going Rogue, so I'm told I would retain everything included (the powersets, the alignment system, Praetoria); but would I lose access to First Ward? If so, does that mean I would, in-turn, lose all the other benefits of being a VIP, for example, would I need to purchase Time Manipulation? Would my Time Manipulation character(s) be locked out until I did so?
I'm well aware I would lose access to the Incarnate system and would be unable to obtain further access to it without a subscription. That is something I have considered. Can I assume that all my Paragon Points already accumulated would be retained? -
Quote:Become a VIP. I preferred when my name was not gold personally. On a side tangent... Because I see a lot of them...... How do you get the gold names in the forums?! :0 I'm curious sry XD
EDIT: Oh and now my name has gone white again. Weeeeeeiiiiiiiird. But I like it this way. -
I think APP are the top priority. Before changing anything physical. Or the EAT's powers for that matter.

Yes, but IN the Lava counts as a FOOT in the lava. I know, because I was hovering over it, as I would, but I accidentally dipped into it slightly, dropped out of the air and fell in. Because I NEVER jump, I have Hover on always, I was just holding the spacebar and really panicking about what was going on before I gathered the fact that I had to jump. And then it was difficult. Because my character is white.

If I were to change alignment from Villain all the way to a Hero shortly after the next SSA mission, what would I do? Would I need to start the Hero SSA? Could I? Both in the fact that I'd started the Villain one, and do the SSA missions stick around after the next one has been released?

Not a surprising ending. I thought the story must have been written by a Dev >.> <.<

It did it with a full eight-man-group. I liked their effort to shake it up a bit, although I felt that the multitude of groups involved made it feel a bit stuffed for a short SF.

Announcing the City of Heroes Freedom VIP Head Start! September 13, 2011
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...54&postcount=1
This little post mentions nothing of the VIP Head Start. Just the release of Issue 21: Convergence. Hence my confusion. -

The announcements were a bit ambiguous.
Has Freedom been fully released? Or has only the VIP Head Start been released? -
Beyond Reach, or Frank Magnus, as is his real name, was losing his mind in Paragon City. He had only travellled there on the day of the invasion. This was just one step towards him becoming Beyond Reach in the last days of the invasion.

Basically, in order to get the Celestial set, if you've just started the game, it will take you about three and a half years if you don't buy any PP.

I think it's a really good idea personally. This is the kind of in-game function that brings your character to life that CoH needs. Perhaps a consequence of this, after you complete your final mission, combat phasing causes the Tsoo to no longer spawn for you in a specific zone. It will seem as though you have driven them out completely.
-
Delete them. That way you won't be temped to bring them back to life.

I've playtested Demons briefly, and I can say they definitely seem much more effective than Thugs, they seem to kill much easier and without assistance. But I'm not sure whether Demons are a bit too flashy for Broken Verse. He was a 50s bank robber. He wears a brown suit with red stripes. I'll have to keep playing and see if I get used to them, but Thugs, though less effective, are seeming the top cotender at the moment.

So, this has pretty much been asked for since Mastermind came out, but I don't remember ever seeing an official dev response. When are Masterminds going to be able to customise their pets? The tech for editing standard characters already exists in Architect, so it isn't a tech problem. Although that is mostly recolouring, it would be a step in the right direction, which is all I'm asking for at the moment. Still, one would hope after all this time, it was at least on the agenda.

There really should be no complaint about travelling in CoH. We have travel powers. Most of the games you have to run everywhere, and sometimes at a very slow pace. But I don't think they've gone too far yet, except for making Trainers tailors, that was just stupid, and it makes no sense.

I was investigating Greek Gods earlier today, because of the whole intrinsic greek connection trhough City of Heroes, Zeus (Statesman), Tartarus (Recluse) and Prometheus (Prometheus
) and I came across a Greek deity (kind of) called Nemesis.
Nemesis is the spirit of divine retribution against the hubris of man. Discuss. -
Quote:I think I'd undoubtedly mention it. But I think some people would automatically catch on. They are fairly similar, and if someone has played with him before, seeing a Gravity/Psi Dominator with an almost identical name, they'd assume it was the same player at least.BeyondReach - Beyond Reach becoming Within Reach is very symbolic. Will you still have the name Beyond Reach as part of the ID description so people can identify him? Good luck trying to get Kurran and Solomon.
Quote:Your story about a last name that gets mispronounced all the time sounds really familiar. The only difference is that I grew up learning from my parents the habit of correcting the error as part of an introduction. As I got older, I realized people were understandably confused. Not only did we pronounce the second letter of vowel pairs, distant branches of the family had different ways they pronounced the surname.
