This is a very solid clean pencil. Good work!

David's pencil work is always clean. ^_^ -
That sounded so pervy, Rowr.
Nice artwork by the way, look forward to seeing more. -
Ooo, most impressive. I think your paintings have gotten better and better.

Thanks for all the volunteers so far. It looks like I'll be able to fit a few more cameos too. ^_^

Hey everyone, thanks for coming by to check this thread out. I guess you can consider this a "casting call." I've been cutting back on art collecting because I'm actually gearing up to have several Bayani scripts illustrated over the next two years rather than continue going along with the usual pin-up stuff. This won't be published officially, but may appear on my website when complete. Winners will receive a digital copy of the final product of course.
Anyhow, I just finished the first draft of the third script I wrote but didn't want to create a throw-away character for one of the parts. Instead, I decided to give a chance to the forum goers to have their character or a friend's character illustrated in the story.
The part calls for a younger hero with telekinetic powers and a bit of a haughty attitude. I posted one of the pages from the script as a sample. The young hero will be appearing on three pages.
There's also a spot for a one panel appearance by another hero which I'll select from volunteers. There's plenty of time, as I won't get this started for another few months.
--------------------
-Panel 1-
Overhead shot of a short building (about 3-4 stories tall) in construction. There are some construction workers and heroes around helping build it. Bayani is on the front lawn, digging some holes for planting. There are
some trees and shrubs nearby for planting as well as top soil and a few ditches.
-Panel 2-
Closer shot of Bayani digging. Hes got a yellow headband on but no
shades. Instead, his attire is casual, wearing a red t-shirt and a pair of jeans.
Bayani: *musical notes, whistling*
-Panel 3-
Bayani stands up straighter and takes a drink from a water bottle. There's a younger hero, in a yoga position, floating in the air, looking sullen and bored.
Bayani: Are you just going to float there all day or are you actually going
to lend a hand?
Young Hero: We should be out on the streets foiling crimes and catching bad
dudes! This is a waste of time...
-Panel 4-
Close-Up of Bayani (shoulders up). His lips are curled up in a slight smile as he finishes taking a sip of water. His eyes are closed, as if recalling a memory.
--------------------------- -
Wow, that's quite a list!

Mind if I make a suggestion?
I got this idea from a duo piece that another artist did for me. For 8x11 6 characters is alot on a page. As someone who's talked about balancing price with quality with alot of other artists, I think a duo of your characters would be just right for that size, and then in the background, have you and your girlfriend's headshot.

Ghost Widow is showing Spade her E-Wang, which she just used on Wretch, thus he's passed out from exertion.
((I love Ghost Widow in this Alex...nice job))

I knew it. Ghost Widow is a D-Girl. >.> -
Aw, but I love the way Mark Millar kills characters off just to give 5 minutes of shock value. That was sarcasm, by the way.

It's funny I've argued both sides of this before. Both the "it doesn't make sense to spend on pvp" and "pvp needs attention"
The RV event was huge. I remember a ton of pvp occuring during it too. When I was logging on there was over 20 instances and most of those were "full". I know all the ones I got into were rank with pvp and very little pve occuring.
RV is dead on live though
How many instances of faultline are there right now on test. When I checked it out there was 1 and it was no where near full. And it IS the main feature of i8 imo (before they stuck in vet rewards a week or so later).
I'm honestly in the "if you build it they will come" camp. Have the previous attempts at implementing pvp been failures? ya, kinda, but that's because the dev's screwed it up imo, not because of a lack of interest.
If the pvp population isn't significant enough to warrant attention then one could question why a zone that according to my surveys has less than 2 people in it at any given time, would be completely overhauled with new art and tech (cause a bunch of cov stuff is on that map now). I know that took a lot of time and given the amount of 15-25 content already in coh that zone will likely be sparsely populated in the future as well. Is that a waste of resources?
Grandville is a graveyard most of the time and a ton of marketing and resources went into that zone. Waste?
I agree 100% that pvp is an advertised (quite heavily too) feature of this game and should be given attention soley on that principle. Does it make sense from a business perspective? Not immediately no. But if a dev supported event like the auto level rv event can pull in upward of 20-30 zone instances (most full) I would say it has potential to attract new customers. Cause lets face it pve in this game isn't attracting many new people anymore and it will only get worse as the next gen mmo's start comming out. But pvp is a unique marketing tool and coh is a unique gaming environment. The combination of the two could prove successful. WITH SUPPORT.

Ditto. -
I can point you in the direction of a company who might be able to help you out with regards to getting something published, but I'm unsure of how it would be received here, so if you're interested, PM me and I can get you in touch with some artists who may be able to help you out.
That's quite a big task you got. I'm working on a third Bayani script and hoping to get about 18 pages drawn and lettered by the end of 2007 as my next big art project. -
That's a snazzy costume. It's a shame someone took it. =/

I'd like to see more fan fiction/art in the comic books. Perhaps release a quarterly or bi-annual graphic novel that collects some noteworthy works and available for purchase online. It'd be great to see more actual sequential art that featured the characters of the community's members rather than just the CoH/V signature ones.

Icons? Feh, I'll teach you to snub Bayani....

By the way, if anyone's looking for supplies to help protect/store/archive comic book art, I've been picking up my supplies here...

I have a few pictures framed. Others are placed with archival mylars and acid free boards, the same stuff used in the Library of Congress. I've got a backup drive with digital originals and several CDs stored in a safe deposit box. >.> If I lose all of that, well I tip my hat to chance.

"A king, eh? Well I didn't vote for you." -
Feel free to use my character, Alex. Bayani does not have any catch phrases.
-
Oooooh, sounds like a rivalry in the making.

I'll check my contacts and see if i could find someone who can forward it for you.
