That's the UPN network for you. >.> -
I saw the film last Saturday and enjoyed it immensely. There were plenty of nods to "classic" moments, straight down to the Red Shirt's ugly demise.
-
That last piece looks cool, but the size you put it on is huge. I would suggest putting it at an 800/900 pixel size so it can fit on folks' screens without scrolling too much.

At that time, I'll toss everyone's names into a hat and draw two names. Those two folks will exchange character information [etc etc]
[/ QUOTE ]Doesn't read to me like everyone gets paired off. Sounds like two people are taking part and the rest of us are waiting.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think he meant to say "Two names at a time"
IE: Person 2219 and Person 3384 get picked, So they exchange info.
Person 9962 and Person 8845 get picked and they exchange info
ect ect ect. At least that was my take on it anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's what I meant, yes. -
Nice pickup. I usually network through other artists to meet new artists and get the "tough" commissions. Solid business practice. THat's a good sketch though. Nice pickup!

Sorry for the not-so-clear announcement. I was writing at 2am and working on the idea on the fly. Anyone who's interested, just post to this thread by Wednesday, let's say 8pm. At that time, I'll toss everyone's names into a hat and draw two names. Those two folks will exchange character information (costume file/pic and a brief background that should be no longer than the space utilized on the character description screen in-game). Those two people will then "re-design" each other's characters, with a 10 day deadline, then we'll open up another thread to post the results. When it's all said and done, we can do another round if there's still enough interest.
-
Awesome. I think loading them into MA will allow us to fully utilize the character creator. Creating a level 1 character would mean no capes/auras etc. Character Backgrounds of course are helpful and would provide everyone with some framework.
I'm going to say the deadline to enter is by next Wednesday, May 13th. And the deadline to finish the new costume will be...the 22nd. A week and a half should be enough time to tinker with the character creator. Does that sound fair? -
Right, just the costume creator. Though I suppose a one-paragraph background wouldn't be too bad or invasive.
-
So I was at my local comic book shop and stumbled across a few trades called "Just Imagine", where Stan Lee basically wrote one-shots of DC's most prominent heroes and gave his take on those icons. It was actually pretty meh, but I thought it'd be kinda fun if we got together, drew names from the hat, exchanged costume files and "re-imagine" each other's toons. Maybe give a week to generate interest and gather interested folks and go from there?

Invincibelle, you are not in the Savage Land! This is the garden section at Lowes. How the heck did you get so torn up here?
must be some kind of uncontrolled anti-cloth power.

Awesome. You really need to weave some impervium into that costume, Belle. -
Hrm. Interesting look on Desmodas. *jots down a few quick notes*

Oohhh I would LOVE something of Flame! Have always wanted something commissioned by you, I'm just too poor.
Anyway if you decide to do her, let's see, a bit of backstory... in a huge nutshell...
Flame (Scintilla Rose) spent her childhood in the High park neighborhood of Kings Row. When she was fourteen her apartment complex was caught up in the center of a Skulls Raid. Her parents had just enough time to hide her in a crawlspace but unfortunately it was too late to save themselves, and they were both murdered. Afterwards she pledged a genocide of sorts against the skulls and and joined the Hellions. When she was nineteen she was already a Fallen Lt. and led a group of Hellions into Skulls territory to plant explosives. Unfortunately they were found out, and all killed.
And so, again in a huge nutshell, Scintilla was given a second chance and resurrected by the Guardian of the Watchtower of the South and blessed with the power to completely control his element: Fire. Now she spends her times protecting Paragon from evil magicks (usually in croatoa).
Slightly better written in my arc! </shameless plug>
Reference in my sig!

Hrm. That second costume from the left, top row would look pretty interesting in Wassy's style. It'd be an interesting challenge too.

I absolutely love this pack, I've been dying to see renderings of these magic costumes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it definitely works. Of all those costumes, I think that's the one that really says "Flame Enchantress". I'd definitely consider selecting that as your signature look.
sorry for the threadjack. >.> -
Well, if you want to pull something old from my gallery, there's this piece...I don't have a hi-rez scan though. And I think you'll have to ask Sayterra for permission.

Question: You said, "any forum signature character". Do you mean we have to use other players' characters or in-game signatures? Both?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah this time around you have to use forum signature characters, I guess i should have made that more clear. Trying to switch back and forth month by month to keep it fresh.
Also if it's a classic Black and White piece that you are recreating then black and white will be accepted. I really hadn't put that together when i was posting this up. Same rule applies though, you have to give us a link to the masterpiece you are recreating.
That explain it?

Is this some sort of elaborate ploy to get you more free art?

Heyo, folks. I just had a quick question about the MA rating system. If I give an arc two stars then play it again a week later and give it four stars, will the two star rating be replaced with the new rating or will it just average out? I re-play arcs I've given two stars or lower upon request if an author contacts me and says he/she've made changes but I'm unsure of whether or not the new rating helps at all.
