  1. Hrm. *plays around with the slotting on Build Planner* I'd have to drop Blazing Aura to get the extra slots. Bummer.

That's cool. I'm going to see if I can change Bayani's Fire colors more of a white with gold/orange tinges. Slotting though on this build is going to be tough though if I go with Blaze Master and want to six-slot those new Powers. I'm going to have to give up some set bonuses to pull this off. I wonder what the recharge rates are for the Fireball and Melt Armor powers...

Hm. Bayani's probably going to undergo a respec...question is which epic pool should I spec into because Body Mastery and Blaze both fit conceptually. On one hand, Body gives Focused Accuracy and that new power that Boosts bonuses from Stamina and Health by 50%. On the other hand, Blaze would get him Char, Melt Armor, and Fireball. And since the Blaster to Scrapper conversion, I have missed my Ha-Do-Ken...

The fact that you had to buy a lawnmower out of your own money for upkeep of the house and other tenants is pretty lame too.

She didn't take into account she's responsible for upkeep on the places. Recently the septic tanks had to be pumped out again. She's unwilling to have them fixed like they need to be done. Then she tried to get us to foot the bill. That didn't go over well. Obviously she couldn't since it's part of upkeep that a landlord has to cover, but she did lose one of the tenants over it. And I'm not to far from going myself.
I don't blame you. You've got a raw deal. I'd be shopping around for a new place myself.

At least I got most of my lawn done. I really should have done it a week ago, but I've been feeling horrible this past week, and just got over it. Unfortunately, in that time was when the grass grew in thick and tall, and while trying to cut it, it kept jamming up, and at one point while trying to push through (it's a manual, ugh) the freaking handle snapped right off. Cheap workmanship.

Well, nothing I can do about it now. Just have to save up for a new one. Time to just kick back and relax today. Oh, and beat up the Joker some.
Hrm. Around here, the landlord's suppose to be responsible for the yardwork, shoveling snow, and repairs.

Hm. I don't normally buy new games unless I intend on replaying them alot. Those action/story games I tend to play once through to the end and put it away. Wondering if I should pick up the game now or get it later when the prices drop.

  17. In my forays into no-holds barred fighting and MMA throughout New England, they were not and I had been disqualified for utilizing such maneuvers. I'm not interested in participating or indulging in MMA or sports martial arts any longer. I spent several difficult years trying to make a career out of martial arts between stuntwork, tournaments, and bouts. Quite frankly, it wasn't an experience I felt proud of. When you boil it down, all I was doing was hurting other people physically for profit and the entertainment of others. And to see someone like Lesnar carry on after winning? No mas, senor. No mas.

Bay I will say exactly to that what the Gracies said 16 years ago. If you think it works, prove it. And the consistent answer has always been abject failure. Way to many tma types run around talking about pressure points and deadly this and that, but when push comes to shove they never prove any of it works. You just have to take their word for it.
The Gracies refused to take challenges of anyone they know they couldn't beat. Throughout my time as an instructor, I've met plenty of MMA bullies who stepped into my sensei's dojo and have been proven wrong. Google Robert Moran sometime. His pressure point instruction is top notch and proven.

They actually do work and well-educated instructors of real martial arts that do utilize and teach them very effectively. But that's the sort of misinformation that people get out of the MMA scene and that disappoints me greatly. People these days want all the shortcuts. And if they can't figure out how to make something work in 10-15 minutes, they say "this doesn't work" and throw it out. It's that sort of mentality that's lead to the steady decline in the quality of martial arts instruction over the years.

As for them not being true martial arts, why? Because they skip all the budo stuff? Fine, call them combat arts. The truth is they are as effective as it gets.

PogoPogo, right now Fedor wins! Brock needs more seasoning on his stand up. But he needs to worry about Carwin in his immediate future anyways.
It's not like any street fight I've ever been in, that's for sure. Are they tough hombres? Yeah, they are. I don't doubt that. But what they practice and utilize is not a complete martial art in my view. And it's not just because there is little or no heed paid to budo or philosophy or that most of them indulge in steroid cycles here and there. The techniques they use are limited and specific to a certain set of fighting conditions. Caged octagon ring, no pressure points, and rarely do I see any sort of real discipline in the competitors' demeanors or structure, even when they are clashing while standing up. It's a sports martial art, which is separate and different from real martial arts and (obviously) movie martial arts. What's unfortunate is that MMA is a sign of the times and how the sort of martial arts training and tradition I had the good fortune of experiencing and being raised with is dying out, if not already dead.

Meh. As someone who's spent his life practicing martial arts and participated in early no-holds barred fighting, I don't consider MMA fighting styles to be true martial arts. It's a collection of watered down techniques cobbled together and marketed to be the "next big thing." I'll pass.
  22. I played fantasy baseball for a few years, but I just couldn't get all that into it. I enjoyed playing the sport and all, but meh. You don't get the same fun/good-natured smacktalk that arises in a head-to-head Fantasy Football league. And well, an RP fantasy football league is just plain crazy. =)

Pshaw. Maybe you need to tell your QB to get his act in gear and quit running off on Carribean vacations midseason with his husband, Jessica Simpson.
  25. *retaliates with a trash can* It's not my fault that the draft randomizer puts you last. I'd love to draft last in a league.

Anyways, I'm projecting my starting lineup to be...

    QB: Tom Brady
    RB1: Adrian Peterson
    RB2: Chris Johnson
    WR1: Greg Jennings
WR2: Brandon Marshall/OchoCinco depending on matchups.
    TE: Dallas Clark
    RB/WR/TE (Flex): Frank Gore
    Def: Titans
    K: Nick Kaeding
