  1. The pricing looks reasonable. It looks like they're working weekends to process the apps for the groups. I think we're square. Just got to remain patient. (I guess. I should go actually play CoH during lulls like this...)

Clearly. I'll be happy to cover the costs. Assistance in defraying some of the "overhead" would be nice but not necessary. perhaps some artists would be willing to step up with logos etc to jazz up the page too...such as journal skins, buttons/small banners to label the galleries etc.

Again, until the admins I see all the tools to manage the Group Feature, I'm not sure what can be done to manage those. My personal opinion and preference is that I'd rather have the group page organized in such a way that it'll be workplace and family-friendly. From what I've gleaned, members can suggest deviations to be a part of the group page, and the admins approve the picture. My proposed guidelines for judging whether or not a deviation is "friendly" enough to post on the CoH Group gallery would be to ask this question...."If this deviation was a comic book/magazine cover, would you find sitting on the shelf of a local store or newsstand, for anyone to pick it up and look at it?" If the answer is no (or if the deviation itself is labeled mature content), I don't believe it'd be a good idea to submit it to the group page. If your gallery has mature content, that's fine. More power to you. I don't believe anyone's going to ostracize you over it and like every CoH fan with a dA account, you're still more than welcome to be a part of the group. Members of the group, as well as visitors to the group page, will still be able to link to your dA gallery.

The main reasons I believe this group feature will be useful are...

    1) We can "see" all the members of the CoH Art community without having to add people to our individual friends/watch list. I don't know about you guys, but with over 350+ (and growing) accounts I've been watching, my list is getting annoying to manage (and the interface isn't exactly easy to manage).

    2) It'd be a good place to manage and showcase the FArt competition.

    3) A more free forum to discuss all things related to collecting art without...well. You all know the limits here.

    4) Great opportunity to promote community artists and and attract new artists to the community.

    Post more then.

Clearly there's no instant gratification from dA regarding groups. It'll probably be a week before this gets going in my estimation.

    I'll post 3 & 4 on Monday, then 5, 6, 7, and 8 the rest of next week.
  7. It took (literally) years to get done, but the Bayani comic book story I wrote has finally been completed despite budget snafus with the budget and flaky colorists. Despite all that, I think this is the first time anyone's commissioned a multiple-page sequential art project. Two pages have been posted to dA already. The rest of the story will be posted next week. The linework and lettering was done by Brandon McKinney with George Cox doing the colors and final corrections. Special thanks go out to Back Alley Scrapper, Mr. Majesty, Killer Whale, Hour Woman, Celtic Bolt, Roxstar, Planet Girl, Katfood, White Peregrine, and Comrade Hero for allowing me to use their characters in the story.

The full story is now available online at the link below.
  8. *flumps into his chair and sighs happily*

It's finally done. It took almost three years, but the 8 page comic book story I wrote for Bayani is now fully drawn and colored.

    Yes! *pumps fist in celebration*

    Virtueverse is indeed back up.

*points to the button in the signature*
  11. I have none of my art materials at the office. 'Sides, I haven't drawn anything since my class ended a few months ago.
  12. No bigs. I'll try to get it up and going asap. Just...bored out of my skull at the moment.

Master list of all groups. Still no word yet on the group application I've submitted.
  14. *munches on a cookie and waits for dA to approve his Group application*
  15. Still waiting for approval. But I'll be annoyed if it gets denied; I mean they have a group dedicated to fawning over Eevee pokemon.

Salacious. Judging from my girlfriend's collection of English literature. *tilts head and peruses a passage from one of the books*
  17. Just fyi, I'll need your dA IDs in order to send the invites to join the group.
  18. On the surface, the Victorian era looked prim and proper. But what went on behind closed doors is most decidingly not.
  19. Awesome. hopefully the group will be approved soon and I'll begin sending invites for folks to join the group.

I'd imagine there would be. I'll have to play with the page a bit in order to figure out for sure.

  22. Hello, folks.

I was perusing deviantArt and noticed there is a new feature being beta tested called Groups, which deviantArt members can bond together by a common interest or passion. What it does is it combines all the members deviant submissions onto one page for viewers to check out. Basically, whenever a member of the group submits art to their dA gallery, it's reflected on the group page as well. It's free of charge to join. There's more information on Groups here...

    http://help.deviantart.com/groups/

I've gone ahead and submitted an application for a #CityofHeroes group and am currently awaiting approval. If you're interested in joining the group, please toss a post here. I don't anticipate the application being denied, but it'd be great to have a page where we can all see each other's new gallery additions and creations. I will also need some volunteers to help administer the group as well.

Here's also a group page example...

    Thanks for your time, folks.
