Also, while I don't specifically need to commission an artist who's already done CoH-themed art, I'm guessing it would help if they were already familiar with the subject matter - they might think of ways to improve the picture, whether in terms of posing, composition or detail which I wouldn't.
Most of the CoH-related art I've seen has been pin-up work of characters, not so much the action-y stuff. The action-y stuff is far more difficult to pull off well, as it takes more time and effort to convey movement in a still picture. A "relaxed setting" is for the most part, a pin-up or a portrait, so really it's not super hard to find that sort of work done. It's far harder in my experience to find artists who can draw dynamic action well who will take commissions...those artists are in very high demand.

I'm still not quite sure what you mean by realistic either. The sample you showed is in my view, anime-ish.

*slaps Jophiel with a few demerits* Shame on you. SHAME!

It's all good. Maybe someone needs to start a "Get Jophiel a new rig" fund instead of just tossing pretty pictures of his characters at him.

  8. For a moment, I thought that "all her glory" meant naked. Way to ruin Christmas.

    Nice piece though. =)
  9. Fair enough. I suppose for a project of this magnitude, going to a local printer would be the best bet and letting them take care of that. Of course, I should probably figure out how to actually put all this stuff together into a book. hrm....
  10. He's got an interesting style. I wonder what he'll come up for my requests.

Don't know what it is about the chalet but nobody slapped Jester or told him to go away except for that skull headed lady. Everyone musta been in a good mood from the eggnog.

That other one, the one with the cowboy hat was really creepy. I think she was either a vampire or demon or somesuch though despite looking normal.
I thought it was funny. My associate the Lounge Crooner would probably have a laugh at the Jester. The Skull-headed lady...meh. Dunno what that was all about. Ren was pretty creeped out.

Photoshop has more options for adjustment when dealing with RGB colors, if I recall.

EDIT: Oh, you get more accurate colors (when working) on the screen if you're working in RGB, for sure. (further editing to clarify that printing is another story)
Is it difficult to convert stuff into CMYK? I mean, is there alot of tweaks to be made in order to keep the colors true to what they are in RGB? Because I have alot of art that's in RGB that I may want to have printed down the line. I was thinking of printing my model sheets, comic book, and some of my better pieces into a comic book format, and hand those out as references when I'm commission hunting at conventions.
  13. If you call going afk and browsing dA "roleplaying", sure. I was mostly checking in every 20 minutes, and seeing Rook hit on chicas of all sorts. =P

Updated your membership to the CoH dA group. Feel free to upload some samples into the Artists Alley folder there too. =)

  18. You're also more than welcome to post them on dA and share them on the CoH Group site. There's a special section for fiction writers there as well.

So... yeah I'm gonna get off the PC for a while and go do some mundane house cleaning to punish myself for not paying attention.
Moved it for ya. Welcome aboard.
  20. Well I don't think Villains are the types to go with a common uniform (super-villains that is). What about just going with the X-Men style of things...you're permitted to wear anything you want so long as the SG's logo is displayed somewhere on your costume?
