I was just wondering why a lot of Filipino comic book artists haven't gotten the attention they deserve. Either that, or they "subtly" work for the big labels. There are a lot of talented folk in my college alone.

Well, this being the CoX board and all... You mentioned Virtue in your first post. Is Bayani fighting crime over there?
I think the Filipino artists are taking over comics. Segovia, Yu, Manapul, Medina, Tolibao...hehe. Still working on getting something from Tolibao and Yu.

(seriously though, I watched a few episodes of the show and well, my first impression is that it's even more campy than the Hercules/Xena series of the 90s. I didn't think that was possible!) -
Yeah, unfortunately given that these are inks, the stage to basically re-draw the face is past, so it's more on to tweaking/damage control so to speak.
Just thought I'd pop a progress piece on the 2 page action splash in the works, featuring Clockwork Cadaver and other player characters. (My apologies in advance for the posterizing).
The idea for the piece was a rooftop brawl between Bayani and a few allies up against Crey and the Clockwork Cadaver. I liked Starflier's concept for Clockwork Cadaver, and the idea of Crey trying to subdue the character with Bayani et al there to prevent Crey's efforts and take down for the PPD. I think the background needs to be shifted upward a bit so Bayani/Cadaver don't look like they're *that* high over the rooftop they came from, but I suppose story-wise you could say that Bayani is intercepting the Cadaver via a mid-air tackle or something.

Yeah. did a quick revision on my own then passed it along. the lip outline is heavy, but when colors and some lighting are added, it'll probably work itself out.

yeah, it's really the mouth and maybe the nose more than anything else. ah well,. maybe colors will remedy the situation.

Inks on this are mostly done, though I'm not quite happy with the way Bayani's face looks in the image. Not quite sure how to remedy that though. -

But, take for example Legacy..A lot of the new talent came in with the gimmick- 'we're young and/or 2nd/3rd generation wrestlers. we wan't our spot now. why should we wait? we'll be cocky and arrogant so there!'

We'll see if the NXT show will make it; Kinda disappointing that ECW folded but they didn't have a big roster to make it work.
Few folks have the "it" factor anymore. It takes time and experimentation to figure things out. Look at Triple H...he started out with that silly Connecticut blueblood gimmick battling the likes of Duke Droese. -

So, I guess, I've watched Shawn, a.k.a. HBK, his whole carrer.
He's been around for an awfully long time. Truth be told, I think he should've retired years ago. I'm still surprised the Undertaker's still around. Alot of these guys should really just step down and see more of the new blood get their time to shine. It seems like it's just the same older guys headlining these shows and warring with the same older guys. Why did CM Punk lose to Mysterio? Mysterio's older news now. Seems counter-productive because Punk is a growing commodity. -
