I ended up quitting Martin's series. It was one of the first old school Fantasy books I've read in awhile but it just got to be so long, slow and tedious to work through. I'm not a huge fan of straight up Fantasy books...the interest waned after all the Drizzt Do'Urden I read and decided comics were more up my alley. The urban fantasy genre's piqued my interest though so Butcher and Simon Green are two authors I'm following regularly right now.

I'm anxiously awaiting for the third installment of the Gentlemen Bastards sequence (Lies of Locke Lamora and Red Seas Under Red Skies). Other than that, well...I should probably start rooting around for something else to read or do.

*yawns and sighs* Stupid new Dresden Files book. Read it twice yesterday. So sleeeepy.

I'll be looking to run a Synapse TF Friday evening. Might as well since my Defender is in level range and PG's leveling up a rerolled character.

I use to work part-time in a photography studio. DE's advice is pretty sound; the SLRs even the entry level ones are fairly pricey (the Rebels start at $650-700). You'll see alot of Nikon vs. Canon debates on the internet; I'd say go to a store and pick which one feels more comfortable in your hand. The differences in the SLR category, especially for beginners and intermediate users, are minimal at best. It's just that whatever SLR camera you end up having will "limit" you to that manufacturer's lenses. (ie. You can't buy Nikon lenses and fit them onto your Rebel XT for instance).

Hm, good question. The decision probably won't be up to me, it's more up to Suichiro as I probably won't be getting it colored myself. After a quick gallery count, I discovered that I'm up to 84 pieces of Bayani art, with approx. 4-5 more pieces of art on the way. Given the way my budget for the year is looking, I'd like to get my 100th piece by Christmas (with the remaining 11 pieces being full-blown illustrations...pencils/inks/colors with maybe a statue tossed in the mix. The CoH Universe section is gift art collected on behalf of other players, either as prizes for contests, for running regular RP/Missions with me, or just having a design I really liked (though there are some I wish I could take back...oh well). Basically, just to add something different to the gallery when artists I've developed good relationships are running specials or might owe me a favor or two.

I'm guessing that the scantily-clad sorceress with a whip will be the prevalent demon mastermind design archetype rolling around the Rogue Isles come Issue 17.

I recently got the rough pencils of the new illustration for the comic story "Community." I wasn't completely satisfied with the one Bob Layton/Sorsah did, so I decided to have it re-done. Guest-starring Planet Girl, Killer Whale, and Celtic Bolt, and had Bayani's sidekick, Mae-Day thrown in there just for the hell of it. There are a few revisions to be made, namely Bayani's logo is on the wrong side; Celtic Bolt's butt looks weird, and Planet Girl's foot/leg should be moved elsewhere so it doesn't look like it's resting on Mae-Day's head.

I haven't PVP'd in awhile, but I'd be interested in popping in and adding to the player pool.
