Good luck on your new venture, Niviene, and you will be missed.

Good continuation of the cross-title story. Looking forward to seeing the next part.

Good work! Sad part is it sounds like some of my time online when the mapserver starts to fail.

So... where were we with Issue 7?
Oh yeah... Midnight Arachnia being accused of treason... having to flee the country... showing up at Mercy Island and we all find out that she's related to Matthew Burke.
So what happens next? That's where Issue 8 comes in.
(Clicking on the comic cover will open the PDF file.)
Yes it's part 2 of the "Limelight" story, and so much gets revealed because of it! We have co-stars and guest appearances and a lot of action!
Feedback is, as always, appreciated. -
Quote:Great job with the video. And, yes, a "lay down" emote, even for sleeping, would be nice. For your consideration:

Made this using Fraps... so it looks laggy. also, the parts where tehy slo-mo run, makes it look even far laggier.
also, cleaner beaches in Paragon. The Beach in Croatoa is awesome, withthe beach chairs and umbrellas, but its always gloomy there. beacj chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels would be aweome. also, a "lay down" emote would be sweet.
Looking into the demo edit process now that i;ve been talking to folks about it. -

Well there was no maintenance break, however the ski chalet is now gone, so I guess the event is done.

When flying, your point-of-view angle will have an effect on your flight direction. Looking over-the-body will cause your character's flight to descend, while looking under-the-body will cause your character's flight to ascend.
This is something to bear in mind when you're using flight to go from one part of the zone to another and you either see yourself gradually climbing or descending. -
Has anyone noticed that it's the 13th and event is still going? Chalet is still there, presents still generated, Father Time still a contact... Or have our Rikti-fied admins and devs extended it further and forgot to announce it?

I don't think it was intentional in terms of they WANTED it to be like that. My guess is it was a programming conflict between two motion tracks, and that the only way to resolve it would be to alter the orbit of the moon.

Wait a minute...
Fact, figures, graphs... an actual business presentation that satisfies the question without resorting to the usual banter about how so-and-so couldn't get enough people to complete Positron's Task Force, or how people are resorting to role-playing fantasies that go beyond the "Rated-T-for-Teens" moniker, or how not bringing back the Cathederal of Pain trial will somehow spell D00M for the MMO?
I LIKE IT!
Admins please push-pin this thread so people can see how these kinds of discussions SHOULD be done!
And Tony, my man, THANK YOU for actually answering the question! -
Quote:That is funny!!!! Great job!

Quote:Ssshhhhh...They should make a moon zone to explain this. *nods sagely*

Here's one courtesy of Dark Respite/Samuraiko...
The moon doesn't revolve around the Earth in the Paragon Universe in the same direction. It rises in the north and sets in the south.
And I would LOVE to see the backstory on that little tidbit. -
Quote:Actually if you click on the comic cover you'll get the right link to the PDF.Bad link to the PDF, Niv... you copied the text from a post or PM and it got screwed up. Actual link: CCC_Compendium_04.pdf
Somehow I was not aware the CCC Compendium existed until now. I'm downloading all four issues now. Yay for the Community Digest!
Looking forward to doing my own contribution to the next Compendium. -

Quote:Is that "thing" or "think"?Trying to bring the thread back on track... I'd be interested in you expanding on this. I thing I have an idea about where you're at but it would be good if you could enlighten us.
But getting back on-topic...
A kleptocracy is a system that is takes advantage of government corruption. It's based on the Greek words kleptes ("thieves") and kratos ("rule") and it is often used to describe a systemic problem with those who use power for personal gain.
If you ever saw the Brian De Palma movie "The Untouchables" then that should give you an idea of what a kleptocracy is like.
You look at what's going on in the Rogue Isles, you have Arachnos agents, Rogue Isle Police, and various factions all working their own agendas. Right from the beginning you have Matthew Burke telling newcommers that they should plant tracking devices on Arachnos fliers and to steal information. You have Arachnos agents planning the "un-death" of Ghost Widow. You get close to an Arachnos agent of the same level (and without stealth) and you get attacked. The only group that you supposedly don't have to fear are the Arbiters, and they supposedly only serve Lord Recluse, not Arachnos itself.
Not exactly an orderly system. -
Quote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_lawDid this thread get Godwin'd in the very first post? Is that a new record?
Quote:Godwin's Law applies especially to inappropriate, inordinate, or hyperbolic comparisons of other situations (or one's opponent) with Hitler or Nazis or their actions. The corollaries of the law would presumably not apply to discussions covering genocide, propaganda, or other mainstays of the Nazi Germany, or, more debatably, to discussion of other totalitarian regimes, since a Nazi comparison in those circumstances is understandable. Whether it applies to humorous use or references to oneself is open to interpretation, since this would not be a fallacious attack against a debate opponent.
However, Godwin's Law itself can be abused, as a distraction, diversion or even censorship, that fallaciously miscasts an opponent's argument as hyperbole, especially if the comparisons made by the argument are actually appropriate. A 2005 Reason magazine article argued that Godwin's Law is often misused to ridicule even valid comparisons.
