Finally, it takes Michael Bay to reuse to sets used to fake the Moon landings in another movie!
It's all a conspiracy people for more Baysplosions! -
Yay for Will acting like a normal human being for two weeks in a row!

Happy for all my friends and peers working at SpaceX.

Or, conversely, being on a TV show a broadcast network (albeit one that is in last place) instead of being on a cable network that was just dropped from Direct TV and a critically acclaimed late-night talk show (who cares if she is funny on it? Still gets to put it on the resume), is actually being more in the spotlight.
Like it or not, 2011 will be the Year of the Munn. 2012 may not be, but 2011 will see its fair share of her. -
Fell of the edge of the world? Not really.
She has a new sitcom on NBC that will be a mid-season replacement and is already scheduled to appear on the Thursday Night Comedy Block.
And I am pretty sure she will continue to be apart of The Daily Show, though probably in the same limited capacity she already is being used as. -
I hope Puck sings "I Have a Little Driedel!"

"Everyone already" infected would be a more dramatic choice. It would allow Rick to further feel the burden of guiding these people, and increase his Jack-complex. It is a terrible secret to hold onto and I can imagine a scene next year where someone dies naturally and Rick scrambles to shoot them in the head while others stand around, horrified. We already see Rick cracking around the edges. Bearing a secret that affects everyone in the gorup, and heck, every one in the world, would further those cracks.
The pregnancy thing is possible too, but I think Dr. J insisting to take everyone's blood and his vague response to Rick's question about the tests indicates there as some reason other than rulimg them out being noticeably infected (as Andrea points out, they aren't running a fever, so why bother?) No doubt the Lori/Rick/Shane love triangle will ramp up next season (Kirkman has indicated as much), and a baby makes sense (for many reasons), but I don't think that's what Dr. J was talking about.
Or maybe it is both: "Everyone is infected and your wife is also pregnant." -
Superman will lose, trying to rotate the Earth backwards to reverse time, but Einstein is adamant that time does not work that way and Superman remains the loser.

One of my favorite movies growing up
My father, sister, and I were on a cruise together recently, and this was playing on the Cruise TV. My dad and I sat down to watch it all, while my sister rolled her eyes and read a book. -
Here's something to think about/possible plothole:
Dr. J says the zombie "virus" only controls the brain stem and what makes "you, you" is never activated. So how do we explain Morgan's wife returning to the house and trying the door knob in the pilot and Amy's slight (though maybe just coincidental) recognition of Andrea when she reanimated? -
Yes, I am guessing it is <redacted> from the comic book as well. I wasn't so sure about that in the comic book, I eagerly await to see how the show handles it.
-
Now we can guess why Dr. J didn't want the group inside the facility.
-
I know Dr. Jenner is just an exposition device, and no way someone would actually talk like that. but dangit, Noam Emmerich nails it so well.
-
Gotta love them making Shane a tragic hero and a *******.
-
I also read that he wish he had thought of the Daryl character for his comic. It is interesting, because by and large, there are no real inter-group squabbles in the first Volume except for Shane/Rick/Lori. And by the second volume that is taken care of and everyone is pretty much on board with Rick and making nice with each other.

Remember how Aquaman seemed like a very odd choice to center a series on, and by all accounts, the live-action Aquaman pilot from a few years ago was pretty good.

I have a dark sense of humor sometimes, so Vols. 1-4 made me laugh more than depressed

I have now read the first four volumes of TDW. Got a little bit better, but man, it is true, everytime someone says they are happy, things go bad!
-
So many actors have come and gone for this movie: Sean Penn, Jim Carrey...

Ironically, I think this show survived and FlashForward din't because FlashForward had a full season, 22 chances at "succeeding," and didn't, while V had only, what like 12 or so episodes? So it is easy for executives to think "Oh, well, V didn't have enough time to prove itself!" versus FlashForward.
Also, FlashForward failed BECAUSE IT WAS LOADED! -
Quote:Wait, it was a romantic comedy? It didn't have Katherine Heigl or Matthew McConaghey! I thought it was a fantasy movie that had a little bit of humor and romance and...I agree it was a very good fun movie, and a nice safe romantic comedy.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
No, it was very good -
I bet it is something to due with Project Wildfire. I hear good things about that project!

Behold the wonders of Netflix, where I can watch a movie I missed the first time around.
I found this tale of boy meets girl, girl is pompous user, boy promises girl something extraordinary, boy meets star, star falls in love with boy, boy falls in love with girl, comic misunderstanding, yadda yadda yadda, boy slays witch and they live in happiness forever after better than the typical story of boy meets girl, girl is pompous user, boy promises girl something extraordinary...well, y'know, that old yarn. Also, pirates and Ricky Gervais, cause he is funny.
I enjoyed how the movie never really took itself too seriously, what with the Greek Chorus of Princes of Plots Past, Michelle Pfeiffer chewing more scenery than when she was Catwoman, Robert De Niro playing a character that is not a caricature of Robert De Niro, and, of course Ricky Gervais, cause he is funny. It's a cute movie, it doesn't try to be anything more than cute, and it succeeds.
It is also wonderfully shot, with scenes that would not be out of place in Lord of the Rings. It makes me want to go to the English (or New Zealand, where this particular movie was shot) countryside, jump on a horse, and just ride around for a little bit. Then be terrified I was lost. But still, wonderfully shot.
So, I would recommend this movie.
Oh yeah, it is based on a novel by Neil Gaiman*, whoever that guy is. I heard he's done some comics, but pfft, who reads those?
*I did get a laugh out of the title of the "Making of" feature on the DVD: "Good Omens." If only that would be the next Gaiman work adapted! -
