WOOT!!! Finally! No work! no family functions (at least not yet), and no excuse not to play till I pass out!...well, except for a 6 month old and a nagging wife...but hey, I can dream...
-
I like the pre-order helms coming available, only 3 months to go for that one.
As for the recycled powers, chosing one you didn't before...not impressed. Not one of my characters wishes he/she had both from one vet reward. Whether thematics or usefulness, I don't see needing both. I'd rather they use other temps, like the pistol, slugger bat, bean bag gun, shocker gloves, etc. I'm not gonna spew DOOM or anything, as I don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Anything is better than nothing. But, if I had a choice...just sayin' -
Shouldn't you be putting these links in the first post where you have place holders?

I dont agree with the sg thing. If I invite a friend to try a trial account, i cant bring them into my sg to kinda make them a part of the group to encourage them to stay. Do the RMTers actually use some part of a sg to spam? It isnt like we invite rmters into our sg's and have a problem with "$49.99 for 5 mill! pst to new sg member!!!!!" he wouldnt be in the sg more than 30 seconds longer lol.
[/ QUOTE ]
Blame the people who made trial accounts and filled up their SGs just before prestige grants for that one.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also, I believe I've heard of RMT and trail account people joining SG's and looting their storage bins. Yes you can blame the SG's for giving new members permissions, but why limit legitimate new members that aren't trail accts? -
But it wasn't an ambush. Let me set the scene...
you enter the outdoor portion of the map and you are at the bottom of the hill with a path off to your left going up. There is a group of Cimerorians there (as always). Defeat those and move up the hill to the plateau (below the Stone structure where you have to free the Sibil (?). The first 5 time doing this there was just a Cimeroraian mob there at the bottom of the stone stairs. This time they are accompanied by about 10-15 Khelds. Not aggressive as an ambush would be, but just waiting to get pounded as part of a normal mob spawn.
Again, no issue for me. More mobs =more xp. but if they adjusted mob count or variety, they should add it to the notes. -
OK, I downloaded the new patch and something I see that I didn't before, and it's not in the notes...
I ran the ITF last night and it looks like they added enemy Kheld spawns in the first mission. More specifically, when you exit the cave and go into the outdoor map, there are ALOT of Khelds (dwarvws and novas). It didn't bother me, but it is a change from the 5-7 ITF's I ran prior to the patch. Was this added in this patch or was I lucky to not see them before? -

I wanted to chime in here...
I love these events, but it would be SOOOO much better if it was an actual ... surprise!! no announcement on the boards posting future dates, or a reminder it's this weekend. I mean really, even if we had rikti spies get us the info, you'd think they'd be smart enough to change their plans...

Hi Backhand,
Well, as for the Rikti invasions, we kinda spoiled that when we put out the 4 Year Anniversary Calendar. We know that some like to be surprised by fun stuff, but others also like to be able to plan for certain events. Hopefully we can work in some surprises for you over the coming year as well
[/ QUOTE ]
HEY! Quoted by a Red name! Sweet!I know it's a "can't please them all, all the time " thing, so my feeling aren't hurt at all. I understand people want to know to schedule accordingly. I enjoy it either way, just thought about how it could be better (for me anyways
), but there are a lot more people playing than just me, so ah well. As for the surprises, heck, the great Issues being put out is enough for me, but keep em coming
Thanks again LH -
right click in the chat tab, select Edit Tab...click on Event Channel and then select the (I think -Move- button) in the center of the two columns. The left column is what is currently displayed in the selected channel while the right column shows the remaining selections. You can move chat channels back and forth to customize what you see.

Completely awesome!! I never imagined you would allow so many character slots on one server. I figured 24 max...but hey...you guys RoCK!!! -
This is just...well...AWESOME!!! Massive Kudos to the Devs!
let's see: power proliferation...SWEET!! Though I never understood why powers had to be specific to hero/villian sides. Why couldn't thre be a hero that controls plants, and all that other stuff. Makes sense to me and glad they started this.
More low level content: more sweetness. no more PLing past those boring first few levels
More co-op? will make leveling my 42 villian to 50 easier...to get
VEAT...NICE!! I understand the misgivings some have about having a VEAT that is a LR lackey, but a simple backstory and you can easily not be one. The VEATs will obviously not be for everyone, same for the hero EATs. I personally can't stand playing kelds.
Roman armor: I've been waiting for this since the peek we had a few months back. I see they are "earned". I guess it will be for the higher levels like the Vanguard pieces. *wonders if it's the same buying mechanic or tied as mission bonuses*
I can't wait!!! I'm gonna have to start sending the wife and baby out to "run errands" more -
Funny, for being so advanced, they sure can't keep a secret!
I love the raids and it gives everyone the oportunity to get the acolade (much easier than waiting for the LGTF to be completed). -

What's with all these basic questions (joke or not)?
Did no one else see all this covered in the several threads about this Vet Award last week?
[/ QUOTE ]
Likely the very people who didn't believe they were real and didn't pay attention to the various threads. At least here, it's easy to ask and find the answers to questions. Feel free to like any thread you believe has merit and has actual information, rather than speculation. -

... wait. These things give a buff to you AND YOUR TEAM?
So what happens if a team of 8 people get together, all running their buffing pets?

If you have a team full of people that have been here for 4 years, I think that deserves the huge buff! -

In order for me to spam without using /t or email, the most effective way for me to reach my target audience would be to RMT spam in broadcast in any starting zone or any zone with a consignment house in it.
As for not being able to send email or /tells, yes, that can impact on a trial. Want to be able to tell your friend (the one who sent you the trial code) that you are in-game? With no access to email or to /t, you would have to go out-of-game (external email, phone) to tell them. Some players will find that an inconvenience that doesn't show CoH/V off in its best light. Some won't bother to differentiate between what they can do in a trial and what they can do in the full game.
You can't build in enough barriers to stop RMT spam that won't end up impacting on legitimate users. The only way to stop RMT spam is to make it uneconomical to offer such services in the first place.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't see why you think banning Trail accounts from /t and emails is bad. So they can't /t their friends that they are on. They can't email. Hell, I've played the game for a LONG time and used the email maybe 1 or 2 times. The only legitimate complaint is not being able to /t your friends who may have invited them. Still not a big deal. If they have friends, they can be told by said friends to add their friends to global. Their friends see them on and invite to team, SG, whatever. Then they can talk in team or SG chat.
Is it an inconvenience for the Trial accounts? Yes, but that's the point. The Trials are meant to "entice" and "lure" people to become paying members. It may backfire and piss off a few people in not wanting to play, but if the restriction is a known issue prior to opening a Trial account, it really shouldn't be that big of a deal. -
I found spamming the spammer "STOP SPAMMING JERK%$*!!!" is quite satisfying. If they report me, at least they will be ratting on themselves
-
I'm just excited that the announced date of these gifts indicate the issue will be released prior to that!
GAME ON!! -

Existing and inactive players that own City of Heroes or City of Villains, but not both, will be excited to hear that NCsoft is giving everyone access to both halves of the game free of charge.
[/ QUOTE ]
What exactly does that mean? If you own CoV/CoH you dont' get free access?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think they meant you get access to the content as if you'd bought the CoH/V box that you're missing, not that the subscription is free.
I sincerely hope they still offer some incentives to people who already have bought both games, otherwise that's money down the drain.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's no difference in subscription price either way. I guess it's akin to giving away a $9.99 game code. I bought CoH, then CoH Coll Ed, CoV, then GvE...I'm not expecting a refund of any kind. As for those that bought the code/game within the last week, I doubt it will break anybody's pocket book. It's like buying a car and the next week they put out a $5000 rebate... -
My concern is that it says a "majority" of the team will be from Cryptic...who'd we lose?
I am stoked that it sounds like they are increasing the dev team, which translates to faster/better/more issues and content. -
I've been in the game about 40+ months and I personally see no NEED for unlimited respecs. I understand having them so you can trade out enhancements as you level, but at some point it would just become fluff.
I too, was a little confused by the contradiction about not wanting them to be for the super-rich, but then making them rare and expect the price to be quite high...sounds like they are bailing water into the sinking boat...
If they were looking for a way to provide unlimited respecs, why not just make the last respec TF give unlimited respecs? Providing rare recipies for freespecs seems like the wrong way to go. Why should I care someone wants to respec their toon 50 times? I don't. I'd rather see a more plausable way to do a respec than finding it on some level 10 Skul...Where's the "story value" here?!?
What's the solution to the drop rate being too low and the price being unattainable by most? Increase the drop rate. What's that mean? Respec TFs gettin a lot less use. I mean, why spend 3+ hours on a TF when I can go spend 100k+ to get a recipie? I, personally, don't like the outcome either way.
As far as the calls for a "true" respec, as in Primary or Secondary powersets, I think that has been discussed many, many, many times over the last few years. I believe the conclusion to that argument was that it would be exploitable, allowing people to pick a powerset that was strong in the beginning/degrading over time and change to a set that normally starts off slow and ends strong. In addition, there would be players with high level toons that don;t know how to play with these new powersets, since they didn't "grow up" with them. Those that were around during the Winter Lord powerleveling times remember this.
I guess the bottom line is, meh..whatever. Some will love it. Some will hate it. Will I use them? Prolly not. As a vet I should have enough vet respecs, and the 3 TFs to get what I need. I'll be putting mine up for sale. Bidding starts at 100 inf (my own attempt to keep the market down). -

Hmph! I WAS going to send you a nice bottle of anniversary wine, but I'm not important enough
J/K...Happy 1yr anniversary! Now, tell us what they have planned! -
I was excited about these new sets but now...
the dual blades was not what I had in mind. I was hoping for daggers, small axes, or something else becides 2 full length swords. I was also hoping that there would be different blades between villians and heroes. The stances seem to indicate nice animations though.
I can't open the willpower pics for some reason so I can't comment on those. -
I'm glad the dev team responded to something a lot of players have been asking for recently. It shows you guys are actually listening to your player base. Another reason I'm a Co* diehard!
