Maybe it's who owns the unworn pants?

Well, today's the big day. You may now start introducing those new Dual Pistols characters.
-
I could go for another run if we have a group that want to try for the Master badge.
-
True story.
Quote:Apparently I can't rep Rhynwa again just yet, so you shall help me prove her wrong! -Sun -
Quote:Was it you that said this was your first raid? If so, congrats on a successful first run! Thanks to all for the raid and especially my team leader Fallenz.
Still miffed I was out of range of any targets when I got all of you gathered together to try to mass rez, but that was my fault and it worked out in the end. -
Yeah, good work tonight, everyone. Fallenz did a good job leading our scrapper team and I had fun playing the role of Suicide Dark again.
I even got myself an Endoplasm. Been needing one of those. -
Planning on bringing my Dark/Dark Defender by default. I grabbed a bio nuke with her, my Tank, and my Controller, just in case I need to switch to fill a hole.
-
I could probably squeeze some EoE farming in tonight from 8 to 9 (Eastern).
-
Oooo. Very sneaky.
Off to find your comment!
I think I found it:

Cath's it! No touchbacks! -
Yeah, I read that. It's not the influence that annoys me. They could hand me free repair tokens for my enhancements once a month and that wouldn't change the fact that it would annoy me that the enhancements degrade and I have to keep repairing them.
"Hey, guys, I'm here to run the TF. Oh, we need a Controller? I'll get mine. No, wait. I haven't logged him in for a few weeks, so I'm going to have to go repair all of his enhancements before I'm ready to run."
Serious annoyance.
And I agree, we could use a currency sink or three. But again, I don't think this is the way to do it.
Hell, give me a working casino that favors the house just like a real one. There's a currency sink for ya. -
I've got no problem with giving 50s something to do. That's great. I don't think this is the solution.
Having to do something over and over and over with the same character just to keep that character from falling apart because its enhancements deteriorate over time? That's the definition of "grind" for me. I'd rather be parked overnight in a healing farm using Agony Mages instead of Wardens (something I'm actually very familiar with since I don't have the Warden gladiator).
But then, I'm crazy because I still love running my 50s. I'm a rare exception because when new content gets added, it's always my level 50s that see it first. I spent a lot of time running in the O-zone with my two main characters long after they had all those badges just so that I could say that both of those characters had run every mission in the game at least once.
I don't level characters for the sake of making 50. I don't care how long they take to get there. Sometimes I even turn XP off on my lower level characters. I just like to play with new powers I haven't ever used before and spend a lot of time comparing and contrasting the strategies and techniques unique to each character's survival.
Having to fight a never ending battle against myself to keep my character's enhancements/gear/whatever from turning to dust? That's what keeps me from playing other games and firmly planted here. Here, when I reach a level of development with a character, I know for a fact that the next time I log in with that character I can pick up exactly where I left off, regardless of whether it's been 4 hours or 4 months since I last took them out for a spin.
Continuously deteriorating abilities are exactly what it would take to make me actually retire or delete a character after reaching 50. I haven't done either of those with any character since I started playing the game.
But, hey, as long as we don't reach a point where we consider those Universal Enhancements absolutely necessary to play a character effectively and I can just ignore their existence, you can have 'em and more power to ya. -

Quote:Yes, you are correct. It seemed like Troll was responding to Baba's comment about Barracuda:I am almost positive (now with a full night sleep) that the Silver Mantis SF runs off of the Super Computer
with a reference to Silver Mantis:
Quote:Never had an issue with that Strike Force... They just made it easier for people to do for those not in SGs.
But I digress. Back to the original topic: I17 - whee! -

Quote:I seem to recall one afternoon in college where we spent some time helping my old roomie grade papers for an introductory chemical engineering test. Each of us had the answer to a different question sitting in front of us. Grade the answer on the test in front of you, pass to the right... and we still got to the hockey game in time for the opening faceoff.Okay that just sounds dangerous.... Can you grade papers for a teacher too?
-
Bah. That's easy. Bring your homework to the raid and we'll all help you write it.
-
I'll try at some point to get bio nukes on at least my Tank, Defender, and Controller since we usually end up needing one of those three characters.
