Quote:Variety is the spice of life. Blasters are something very different in this game and having them homogenized wasn't going to improve the overall enjoyment of the game. People that wanted to play tank mages had almost every option in the game. People that wanted to play something where performance was much more dependent on skill than build had almost no options in this game. It wasn't even a case of outperforming with skill in the AT, it was just nice to have an AT that when you were at the top of your game you saw it, and when you were phoning it in you saw it.If you follow this to it's logical conclusion you get blasters never needed to be fixed and balance is of zero importance. Seeing as they were the most abandoned AT there is a contradiction here. There are certain levels of performance that just weren't acceptable and people were concerned about overall power.

Do You think our being really angry didn't contribute them deciding to honor their legal obligations ?

If you can use a well equipped blaster count me in.
@Black Leather Angel -
I'd be glad to bring a well equipped blaster over to triumph for this attempt.

Disclaimer: I like AE. It certainly helped keep my interest going in the game
Alternate explanations.
If you want to 2nd guess you have a target rich environment. These are all items I found really annoying and or I know people that were turned off to the point they left.
- I13/14,I15,I16,I17 were all IMNSHO very meh issues.
- I18 introduced 4 new zones that didn't get much use.
- New maps/zones were very unfriendly to older graphics cards
- There were some very unpopular nerfs over the time period. That in light of where the game is now were pointless
- The reward system in the game became ever more strange. The best way to directly gain rewards was to have large number of alts running SSA1. Ouro arcs and older content got mercilessly punished. Why is Sister Psyche as a flashback only worth 20 merits ?
- The lack of solo path for incarnates, and when one did come it actively had a goal of punishing soloists for pursuing it. The Dark Astoria repeatables offer an incarnate component once a day ??
- Population decline on servers was never well addressed. The closest we got to a solution was the free transfer/month. Really not a good solution for people with large bases, more than the base number of slots/server or close ties to groups on servers
- Bind on acquire currencies/items coming into the game
- Proliferation of unneeded unwanted currencies
- Two different modes of incarnate progression Ixp unlock/currency acquisition
- Two base incarnate currencies shards and threads forced playing particular content to advance beyond a certain point.

Quote:Blasters are a different way of playing this game for me. Playing blasters really pulled me into the game way other ATs did not. They are a very unique experience and most of the things touted as broken, look like defining characteristics from where I sit.[
Being happy with a character does not mean that character doesn't have problems. It certainly doesn't mean that the archetype as a whole doesn't have problems, even more so in a game like CoH where two different Blasters quite possibly have zero powers in common.
Saying "Blasters aren't broken!" misses the point entirely. Yes, I can log into my Blaster and complete missions. My car can get me just about anywhere I might want to go; it's not broken. My car might still benefit from a tune-up and some new tires. -
What settings for Babelfish do I need to get that in English ?
Quote:You've also been on record in team chat in the past implying that playing Blasters in melee is an "e-peen" thing. So you're either being sarcastic here, or you don't even KNOW how awesome Blasters can be.
1387 badges on my main blaster and she has killed everything from pylons to GMs , I might KNOW how awesome blasters are. -
I know I was happy with mine. Wonder why other people had such problems ?

Strata Foto also works for this. I had it as part of the Strata 3D suite. The best spot I found to take the screenshots was the character creator but you lose the top and bottom view.

Thanks Zek

Quote:Are we going shivan/wolf/wedding ring/warburg nuke/base buffs for this one ?Ok, seeing as how we still don't have a 4th cager (and we probably won't get one, as it's a rare power to have), I'm going to open up that spot to an empath to help keep the tank (Layla) alive.
"But Stone," you say, "There are four towers. How will we get by only taking care of three?" Well, I plan on ignoring the Blue tower. It's function is to increase Recluses' tohit (as well as recharge rate and run speed). With the amount of defense buffers we have enlisted already, I think it's safe to say that we can get away with ignoring that tower.
So, if anyone has an empath that can fill in, please reserve your spot. -
Nothing that impressive but 4:30 for a STj/Ninjutsu

Quote:My subscription ran out in July, so I can't post in the market forum. If you like, feel free to post this in the thread for me:
The couple of times I subbed to CoH from I9 to I13 I was doing the craft-to-sell routine. Performance Shifters, Oblits, LOTG defense and def/end mainly I think, though I'd try other niches for a while if they looked like they would turn a few million.
The last couple of times I subbed to CoH, starting around I18, I was mostly flipping purples. No crafting, just buying the enhancements and reselling them at a decent markup. I was dealing in most of the enhancements in the damage sets, along with some in the hold, stun, and immobilize sets. I sometimes flipped LOTG 7.5% recharge and Miracle unique enhancements too, at their max and min levels. For a while I made a lot of inf crafting Panacea heal enhancements, but that was the only one that I considered to be worth the time to craft. Since I dipped into so many niches, I would take screenshots of my purchases to keep track of pricing. I found that much faster than trying to use a spreadsheet.
The nice thing about flipping as opposed to crafting was that I could keep my marketeering sessions short. I was spending around 5 minutes per day, 5 to 7 days per week doing this, and making around 7 to 10 billion inf per month. I stopped when they announced converters, but I did make another big chunk of inf when converters went live.
My goal from the start had been to earn enough inf to equip my characters as I saw fit while minimizing the time spent earning it. All totaled I made enough to kit out 8 of my level 50 characters with money-is-no-object builds, plus I'm still sitting on about 60 billion or so and a couple of storage bins filled with purple/PvP/ATO enhancements.
Take care folks, it was fun while it lasted!

Quote:Hey don't blame the people that worked the market.I was buying stuff to..you know..PLAY the game.
Not too be snarky..cause if you enjoyed playing the market, fair enough.
But..Im SURE that huge pile of..500 billion? is such a huge comfort, considering we have 3 months to go.
Last time I checked you needed roughly 100 IOs to make a high end build and the majority of those were very hard to come by. We didn't make that happen we just tried to make the best of situation the Devs handed us. -
::shrugs::
It grabs your badge info, your costume info, your last build, your bio all in a nice easy to manipulate/use format. I thought it was nifty. -
The VEATS are still around and madder than ever
This week we took it out on the romans

Finally got some time to play with it and while I don't know if this the recommended method for using it, but it works well.
1. Put Sentinel + in its own folder
2. Leave the folder open on your task bar.
3. Log in to the toon you want to capture.
4. Open the personal information display from the menu
5. Tab over to the folder with Sentinel+ you left open.
6. Double Click Sentinel +
7. Close it.
It will create files with unique names for each of your toons filling up the folder.
The names look like this
global.server.toon.xml
ex.
Black Leather Angel.Protector.Psi Phyre.xml
And here is an excerpt from the file
<character>
<name>Psi Phyre</name>
<server>Protector</server>
<global>@Black Leather Angel</global>

<dimension>Primal</dimension> -

1397 badges, legitimate.
1405 badges, cheating.
This is before going to beta and getting the badges there, but I'm curiously not wanting to do that.
Even if I cheated to get the above.

Now you got me curious. How did you cheat ? -
