I know I don't fit in the casual gamer category. But I have some toons I play casually.
Here is the build for the one I play for the blueside midlevel crisis. She wasn't supposed to start out as a casual toon. She was originally created for the 100 levels of Frad superteam on virtue. When that disintegrated she was shelved and then taken off the shelf for the midlevel crisis frad superteam and moved to freedom.
here is her build as it stands. This toon is level locked at 32 so its just a matter of putting in the last pieces.
Only gets played for taskforces once a week. Gotta think that is as casual as it gets. Even so there are no TOs, DOs, Or SOs here. Franken slotting is just that much better even at low levels. It wasn't particularly hard to do this. I think my total cost has been something like 5-7 million with another 3 or 4 to be spent. I may buy a stealth at some point but I am not going to lose sleep over when.
I don't want to sound elitist or anything but I think if SOs were all I could build with I would ragequit at this point. It doesn't matter how often or much I play the toon it would be annoying to know it was subpar.
I read this thread and one thing leaped to mind, Who is this casual gamer ? -
Thank you for pointing that out.
I don't want to thread jack but this caught my eye near the inf announcement.
Quote:Kind of worried this is going to hurt my crafting.Auction House: The UI gives you new options for sorting search results, your Auction House inventory is now separated by clearly marked tabs based on the item's status, the Auction House text entry box now autocompletes, and a single click on a recipe displays all salvage needed for that recipe. -
Quote:It seems to be down again this morning. I've tried copying over several characters (after making sure I had open slots on Test) and it's been two hours and nada...
Make it a trio. I started a copy on friday and last night still nothing. -
Looking forward to tomorrows events. 4:00 mayhems and a tf again ?

Quote:Seriously, you don't have anything better to do than ***** about a post you could easily ignore? They are going to reach more people by posting directly on the server forums than some place like player events. This is a player based initiative to help people get access to decent pvp. I think that merits some tolerance of the HORRIBLE indiscretion of cross posting.
I have to ask, there is no way not to have known that posting this way would rub people the wrong way, why do it anyway ? Just how is taking a hostile and defensive tone supposed to help your event ? -
Been happening to me on protector since Friday evening. Even putting things in and taking them out of the market has become very difficult.

Quote:I missed the festivities of yesterday due to a bad case of Football fever. What's the max level now?
I think we are up to about 20, level range really isn't seeming important people are just catching up incredibly quickly.
Was a really nice set of runs last night. We did papers to get the skyway mayhem mission then ran a Cap SF in mostly kill all mode. -
Quote:
Thanks Demon I had no idea that the cap scaled with level.
I started doing some builds for my fire / rad and came up with some pretty nice possibilities that might be useful as starting out points for everyone else. Making the builds raised some questions for me.
If I understand the concept right we are out to produce mid level recipes so that set bonuses can be available while exemplaring ? Yes/No/Maybe ?
35 is also our target level ?
It just seems 32 and 37 maybe the key stopping points. If you have level 32 recipes you keep your bonuses into the 25-29 exemplar band. If you go to to 37 you have a much hardier build and more slots while you still keep your bonuses into the 30-34 band.
The market people also seem to have taken 35 as a stopping point but for reasons I don't really comprehend. The most reasonable explanation they had was things sell better at the multiples of 5.
Anyway here is what I came up with for my build if anyone would like to comment/critique/improve it much appreciated. If it helps anyone even better
I didn't think it was possible with the number of slots available to do a defense build, and a combination of radiation infection/maneuvers/combat jumping should do that without set bonuses. So straight recharge/ damage/ end.
This build is pretty usable solo or if you take a death and have to get back in sync on teams. It has the end to run its toggles, enervating field is a little difficult but possible, and run its attacks. AM has a down time of 13 seconds. With the exception of the lotg globals its not really expensive.

I'd much rather be able to pull up a window that list of components that I'm missing from the recipes that I have on hand.
I really want this. I mean I really really want this, I just don't see why I can't have both ?
If I had to pick one as much as I would like the bill of materials, I would just grit my teeth and live with my notepad and pencil. I can make a shopping list, I can't make a recipe at a level I have passed.
It seems the simplest way to do this would be to let you just downgrade recipes when you craft them. Pay full price for everything and just pick the level of the IO that comes out. If you got a level 45 recipe you would use tier 3 salvage, and pay the level 45 crafting costs and then pick the level of the IO produced. This would be bad for people that had been buying the lowest level procs and IOs with merits and making inf that way. -
Sorry Kyo I missed it again, My insomnia and sleep cycle has just been killing lately best take me off the list. I would be glad to fill for you any time, and thanks for inviting me to the Synapse saturday evening.

Just wanted to say thanks to Impyre for starting what was an incredibly fun event. I think we did 5 mayhem missions before everyone logged out and were pretty much steam rolling everything we were trying our hands at. I think at one point we were fielding three teams at once and had rolling teams through the afternoon and evening. I had tried this on a couple of other servers but, ours did just really well. Fun factor was just off the scale.
Couple of questions for those more knowledgeable than I.
1. We seemed to be getting blue numbers for damage around 169%. I thought the corrupter cap was at 400% global.
2. When is recharge calculated from ? Is it from when the power is cast or it is finished activating ? For the teamed builds this could give us some really interesting attack chains and builds. -
Thank you IMP
Its wonderful to see this happening, and even better to see it happening on protector.
You can count me in and it looks like you will have enough for at least two teams. -
I think someone told them bases were good for villains and its been downhill ever since.
(I am kidding)
And I agree with you, at the very least I wish they would revisit some design decisions that shouldn't require much work. Storage rack capacity really could use an increase, trying to distribute candy canes was murder this event. -
Been trying to copy over for the better part of this week and nothing

Quote:I love my blasters but this always hurtsFor reference, if they had left it at its original damage, Neutrino Bolt would have dealt:
6.15 damage at level 1 (compared to 10.25 now).
37.54 damage at level 50 (compared to 62.56 now).
As for in the start game, it's really not that bad. It shares the exact same rech numbers as Assault Rifle, Electric, Energy, Ice, and Psy.. Blasters are supposed to be the dps build but this just gets in the way.
Quote:Try Archery. It's faster than most sets early on (2 and 6 seconds vs 4 and 8 for the two starting attacks) and has very good AoE capability later. It'n not going to match some of the other sets for single target damage once you get a high recharge build but it holds its own and being able to drop Rain of Arrows on every spawn more than makes up for that. -
Count me in
For all of them
@Black Leather Angel. -
Quote:Thats what I do with my new toons just run a quick ae, buy a few rare salvage, sell. It is very repeatable. The only way that would be would be via the AE and use Tickets to sell things in AE. Only thing worthwhile outside are random drops and not repeatable, but even selling things in AE would be a little random, and would be lower it the items sold start flooding the market.
If you could do it repeatable, expect a quick nerf to follow.
Quote:Basic money making schemes in MMORPGs for low level characters is selling things to high level characters that low level players can get as easy or easier than high level character. Rare Low level salvage and event items fit that bill very well and usually are the springboards to early wealth for a character.
You can do all kinds of things to make money in this game. There is the recipe/salvage vendoring scheme (shudder), crafting, flipping. You can even try promoting a MArc to gain tickets from the ratings. -
Up and running thank you
-
Well if you could retain access to a SG bin
Other people/toons could put stuff in those same bins and then you could take them out. You could also put stuff in and they could take it out. That would be no different than letting heroes and villains trade.
Sounds like a real nice perk for buying going rogue. -
Anyone else having the copy problem again ?
I have been trying to get some toons to test for nearly a week now. The tool says they are copying but they never arrive. -
Dont want to be a nudge here but would it be possible to get invite privileges for lower ranks blueside ?

Quote:Yay for another successful SFS run!
I'll be away for the next few weeks so I will not be able to run the SFS. I think some of the others will also be busy or taking trips. I will be picking this back up probably in January, when I have to go back to work.
Thanks for all the great SF runs! See you all next year!
Thank you for organizing and hosting. Take care in your travels. -
I'd be interested
I have a claws sr/scrapper that I would be willing to dedicate to the effort -
