  1. Well then.
I just finished a mission this morning that used Prisoners in it. I'll have to tell the author (If he hasn't noticed already) that he'll have to do something different for foes in his Guantanamo mission.

Maintainence is early today, by 1-2 hours.
It was 0330 Pacific Time (what West Coasters use) when I got the thirty minute warning.

Running to the Hollows at the first oppurtunity may prevent you from getting one or both of the temporary travel powers from the Atlas and KR Safeguards. And the Exploration badges in each.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Then again you can always do those missions later with a lowbie friend and if you level to 14 in the Hollows travel time is less of an issue.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You can do that, but not solo. I find it a bit of a hassle to find a lowbie team that has the Safeguard/Mayhem I want.

By avoiding the Hollows and doing scanner missions mixed with regular contacts I push my travel power back to L24 (highest you can push it and still have it in Bloody Bay)
  6. Not a bad idea. Redside I generally use the one in St. Martial for my higher-level guys, but why not?

    fire based farm

Shouldn't be hard to find using the AE. Just go to a console and open the menu, then hit the search button and type in a keyword that would be germaine to the mission description.

Feel free to report back the ID number to this thread so that others can find and probably report the FARM.

Bangkok is actually "Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit"

But is it pronounced "Raymond Luxury Yacht" or "Throat-Warbler Mangrove"?

    cursor scaling

    Interesting.
In the meanwhile, here's something to consider.

When I installed my last mouse, it came with a "cursor-finder" option. When I press Ctrl, it throws a collapsing bullseye graphic over the cursor for a second.

Issue with auto-fire - stops working after zoning. Usually starts right back up when you force it manually the first time - or in combat.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This, sometimes mine wont go off at all for any reason, but the little green circle will still be there. I have to click it again for it to go off. Been like this for a long time now.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Similar experience.
I often log off with Practiced Brawler on autofire.
Sometimes I log on with PB still on autofire and it would not fire until I either manually click it or I hit my key bound to "/powexecauto Practiced Brawler" to turn off, then on the autofire.

    But this doesn't always happen.
Not a big deal to me, just odd.
  12. [ QUOTE ]

The DEVs don't want farmers in the game. The DEVs feel that farming is reduces the longevity of the game. The DEVs made it clear that they didn't want anyone using the AE as a farming tool and that players would be punished for doing so. The DEVs dropped the 10-ton hammer on some of those farming the AE.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes, they dropped the hammer (publicly) on some of those farming the AE. Once. And they closed one exploit hole involving the skewed risk/reward of LT's of one faction.
    Meow.
Have you had a puppy? Rubbing it's nose in it's mess just once doesn't teach it to quit peeing on the floor. And every parenting book out there states that consistancy (between the parents and between multiple instances of bad behaviors) is the key to teaching your kids better behaviors.

There are quite a few farming missions in the AE at this moment. I don't think that it would be an exxageration to guess a few hundred. Reporting them seems to do little good as I've reported a couple of really blatant ones and seen them still posted quite some time later.

It is against the EULA to promote or support an exploit.

    It's true!

Because there isn't a state named Rhode Island.

    Not yet, anyway.

Behold the lovely State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations!

Or so the state is formally named, at least until legislation to shorten it clears the state house.

    Weird, huh?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, it can't be in Rhode Island. Because if it really WAS in Rhode Island, you'd be OUT of Rhode Island after taking three steps.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was about to say something similar... I'm pretty sure Paragon City is actually bigger than Rhode Island

    [/ QUOTE ]

    {{Editted to remove comment that Independance Port is larger than Rhode Island}}

Maybe the Rhode Island in CoH has a larger border than the Rhode Island on our Earth.

I heard they've all be banned from the forums already. The only accounts they have left to post with are their redname ones.

    Interesting.
    Why?

And if one decided to start an alternate account, posting only during off-work hours, who would know?

can you melt the some of the cheese to go on the popcorn? some people may want that now.

I've noticed that powered popcorn flavoring stuff works real good on baked potatoes...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ooh, I'll have to try that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is a really good idea!

    ...

I wonder how well it would work on, say, baked chicken?

    [/ QUOTE ]
For baked chicken, I recommend the following:
    1) Cover cookie sheet in foil, spray foil with non-stick spray.
    2) Roll boneless breasts in flour.
    3) Roll them in egg.
    4) Roll them in crushed "french-fried onions", preferably the cheddar-cheese flavor. The name-brand (Durkee's?) will be significantly better than the store-brand in my experience.
    5) Placed on foil-covered sheet and bake (400 degrees for 20 minutes? depends on thickness of chicken).
    6) Enjoy with a little BBQ sauce on top.

I sorta read his comment as "there goes another thread into Derail-ville."

And to all the readers of this thread, I hereby apologize for derailment.
  19. Pros:
Sapping. A well-built Elec/Elec can sap for lulz. Against small targets, it's not a big deal, as thier HP bar goes down as fast as thier blue. Against larger targets, like Deathsurge, it may take a couple applications of Power Sink.
Note that Freakshow rez at full HP, but only 1/2 End. And they are weak to energy damage, which you do. And thier ranged attacks are mostly energy and -end, which you are capped against.
Note that you can ignore -End effects, like Sappers. I ignored Sappers until last, just for "teh lulz". There was an AE arc called Nothing But Sappers. It was easy for Elec/Elec.

AoE Some may argue that other brutes have slightly better AoE when you get down to number-crunching, but Elec/Elec/Mu looks sexy doing it.
And while Lightning Rod may be imperfect to some, it can be used to get around a situation where the /stuck command will not. There is a very brief and very specific time in the animation where Grounded is not in effect. You can be KB'ed at that time, but getting hit by a KB attack in that window is not frequent.

Limitless Endurance. With 2-slotted Stamina and a fully slotted Power Sink, Conserve Power ( a very good power in it's own right) becomes redundant. I just recommend putting off your damage aura until after Stamina.

    Cons:
No Heal. You may want Aid Self. That's okay, you can save slots for it by not slotting Aid Other (just toss it into a tray you don't use.)

Not the best Smashing /Lethal, limited Toxic/Psi Resists. Pick your foes accordingly, consider taking Tough. But you're a Damage-giver, not a Tank, so don't let them live long enough to kill you.

Cancelled about three or four years ago after CoV released. Am coming back for no particular reason. Maybe I'll stay for a while.

Couple of questions: What does redside mean?
Do people still team up, or is the population bad?
What server has the highest pop?

Also, if there's anything else you think I should be 411'd on let me know here please.

    Thanks.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Redside means villians, Rogue Isles or CoV, whereas blueside means CoH, Heroes and Paragon City.

    People still team up.

Highest Population is Freedom, then Virtue. Log onto Freedom, then back out to the server selection screen. The top of the server list is the server you were just on. The rest of the servers are arranged from the highest (number of people CURRENTLY logged on) at the bottom, to the lowest current population at the second-from-top.

There have been a lot of changes.
  21. I believe bridges were 42, rather than 46.

The leader would be either a Fire/Other Tank (often Fire/Ice for Burn+Ice Slick) or a Fire/Kin Controller.

A Blaster(s) with Trip Mines, paired with a flying Tank could do quite well with Chimera's "Graveyard of a Thousand Ninjas".

Some of these exploits have been plugged a bit, with agro caps, limits on XP range while outdoors and a tightening of the team level range for example.
  22. BBQ_Pork

    auto powers

I live quite well, and with a happy blue bar.

One recharge in everything that needs a recharge, two in Practiced Brawler.
Blasters, Brutes, Scrappers, (1) Stalker, Corruptors, (1) Tank, Defenders, VEATs and a MM. Only two characters kept Hasten, and of those, only one leans on it.

*(I respect the players of those AT's I didn't mention, I simply do not find those AT's to be of my liking.)
  23. Like exploiting the SK system to get free XP for standing in a doorway while the rest of team (minus the SK and his babysitter) kills full-team-sized spawns +8 to you?
  24. BBQ_Pork

    auto powers

I generally don't take Hasten, but that's besides the point.
And on the three characters that ever took it:
One respecced out of it ASAP.
One (Brute) only fires it if hit by a bunch of -Recharge effects. (Only took it because it seemed better than Flurry and wanted SS)
One (Crab) uses it very frequently, to keep his pets out.

Firstly, thanks all for not flaming me.

Read a few good ideas. Being able to turn off the e-mail system would be a good idea, then, when a spammer sends a message to you, they would get a message, "That Global Address has E-Mail turned off". Or, the Global e-mail system can be tied to your global friends list, thus only your global friends can send you e-mails. Or even have an e-mail filtering system, which would be the best option, with clickable options like:

    1. Open E-Mail ( )
    2. Closed E-Mail ( )
    3. Global Friends ( )
    4. Server Friends ( )
    5. SG Members ( )

This would most likely completely remove the in-game spamming. This way, the players could pick and choose those groups of players that can send them e-mails.

With this option, and the trial account limitations, it would be very difficult for the spammers to bother us. Just a thought!
    KP

    [/ QUOTE ]
You see, I quite agree with the option of a filter system like this. I've been on-record here with that opinion for quite a while.

I'm not sure if I'd like for the spammers to know who they can and cannot spam though. If they waste time trying to spam people who have opted out, that's time wasted for them, unable to spam those that can recieve thier message.
I'm in favor of anything that effects the RMT'ers with the minimum effect possible on the legitimate users.

    Here's an example:
My friend asked me to review his MA arc.
It was a lengthy arc with horrible grammar throughout, one poor choice of map and a few oddly-named NPCs. In order to corral all the things that needed to be fixed, I had to send 4 short-to-medium Emails.
Had his only way of avoiding RMTmail been to opt completely out of all Emails, I would have been unable to help him.
