    [ QUOTE ]
Why in the world is this the only game I've played so far where it's impossible to transfer influence/infamy between YOUR OWN CHARACTERS without needed a stranger to help you out? And even then, let's say you do find someone and that person happens to keep the money or log off, do the GMs even help you out with anything in reimbursements??

How the hell am I supposed to give money to my lowbie toons??

    [/ QUOTE ]
In addition to all of the existing ways of transfering wealth-of-some-sort, there is the fact that any character can be monetarily self-sufficient fairly easily. Maybe not uber-rich at L3, but self-sufficient enough to be comfortable with minimal effort and normal game play.
I've heard that some other games don't have that.

    My Post Count...

    [ QUOTE ]

In honor of this momentous occassion, I'd like to thank the following people who helped me get to this milestone:

<ul type="square">[*]YOU - You know who you are and why I'm thanking you.[/list]

    [/ QUOTE ]
    You're welcome.
  3. How much spam (RMTmails) can the ingame Email box hold?
Well, in one thread, I heard a claim that someone had to delete to get down to the 500 range because of some game-performance issue.
But to be honest, I don't know.

What is "Getting off the snide"?
  4. Now in a PvP area (Arena or Zone) I'm sure that the invisibility could be disabled, just leaving the /ignore upon his/her broadcast and such.

    However, in a PvE area...
Let's say that you "Greater Ignore" a player named Bob. He sees that you are no longer reacting to him and goes streetsweeping. You no longer see him, so you go streetsweeping. You jump into a mob that he has already engaged (remember that you don't see him or any of his power effects?) and defeat the mob.
Sure, you might have seen the enemy's health dropping, but you might not have noticed, especially if his powers are holds and debuffs first, before damage.
He runs into another, nearby mob and starts his attack cycle. You jump in, not seeing him, and lay waste to the mob.
Does he now have a valid claim that you are a killstealer and harasser? He has no idea that you didn't actually see him, and to him, his power effects are perfectly obvious.

This scenario relies upon a lot of variables, but with enough instances of similar behavior and widespread use of Greater Ignore, it could eventually happen.

As an aside, I offer a bit of sympathy experience for whatever spurred your desire for this feature. Hopefully, you used /petition and also acted in a way that did not bring you down to thier level.
Unfortunately, I am not in favor of it being implemented.
  5. There are also rather good reasons why elevators only go up one floor each (*1) and why there is no rain in Paragon.(*2)

*1 Ever see bombed-out buildings standing while at a thirty degree angle? Because the building codes in Paragon City are quite strict, even if it does make office layouts look odd.

*2 The vast amounts of energy in the War Walls evaporate the moisture in any low-level clouds. Why is there no rain in the Rogue Isles?
Because Lord Recluse decrees that it is so!
  6. I have heard of this suggestion before, although it was quite a long time ago.

Behavior like that is rare enough, at least in my experience, that I don't think we need it.

I would prefer not to use the Greater Ignore, should it be implemented, but would prefer to use the Player Notes function.
I'd hate for a potential PvP foe to be made invisible by my enabling it.

Immunity to EndDrain. Look in the AE and you should be able to find an all Sappers and walk through it with a smirk. (As long as you took Grounded.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I filled a map with sappers on my elec for fun. Let's just say that if you surround yourself on a map set for 8 with sappers, even elec gets drained.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ah, you did it on a map set for 8? That would be different than what I did.
Still, if that is what it takes to drain an /Elec, then we shouldn't complain. I tried herding Sappers on an indoor map and it took a fair number before the End bar started noticing it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
And then you hit Power Sink and are good until it recharges again.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yep. Power Sink. Much love for the Power Sink.

Increase xp gain for street hunting!

Right now you get double debt for dying outdoors, maybe it would be a good idea if you got double xp too.

If street hunting was good xp maybe people would do that instead of farming ae, also it would fit in the game thematically, would be cool to see teams of heroes cleaning the streets/villains taking over the streets.

Hazard zones wouldn't be so barren anymore either.

When the game first came out I really enjoyed finding a team in the hollows or boomtown and just exploring and hunting and getting great xp.

Anyone else thing this would be a good idea?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Rather than modify the XP, why not increase $Inf/Prestige? After all, you are fighting in public, where everyone can see what you are doing, so it makes sense that your reputation would increase. Defeat 10 Hellions in a warehouse and maybe someone would hear about it. Defeat 10 Hellions in public in broad daylight and people are bound to see it and may possibly snap a cell phone pictures.

this might be the wrong section but idk
i was watching the alpha vid for CoH
and i saw in the power selection screen
    light control
    shape changing
    super sight
    air control
why did they put all of that in the game to begin with?
my best guess is that so they could release them at a later date so as to keep us interested in the game but idk

    Ever read Dilbert?
It's the Marketing Department's job to come up with impossible stuff to promise the customers, then tell the Engineering Department "Oh, yeah. Here's some crazy stuff that you need to build, even if it's completely unfeasible."

I'm guessing Jump Kick or Flurry.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, I don't even PvP anymore after they made all the changes.
I just never found out till today that Kick and Jump Kick are such high damaging powers in PvP.
It was shocking to see it at first.

As for the "game loving devs" comment....I just needed to add a Where question haha.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I dabbled occasionally until PvP Recipes. My luck (and choice of powersets...I like AoE characters) was against me anyway. I had no desire to provide special recipes that would make those with better built characters even MORE better built than mine, so that they could trounce me harder and faster later.

....how come we can only see out of the windows, and not in?

    [/ QUOTE ]
One-way glass to help keep the interior cool? This place is starting to sound somewhat eco-friendly, unlike the War Walls that act like giant bug-zappers killing all the seagulls coming off the coast.
That's why we have no birds in Paragon.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
So what's the point of the warpdoors?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Without the doors, the cost of running the air conditioning would be outrageous.

    What is a "Nade?"

    [/ QUOTE ]
I assume we're talking about grenades.

But it's not really clear, so I'm just guessing. Pretty sure I'm close. Which counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

    [/ QUOTE ]
What's worse is that I originally read it as " Nads Proliferation". I heard that was some freaky, mad-sciency stuff in the upcoming Science expansion pack, but that might be a bit much.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Who thinks the PvP damage on power pool attacks is crazy?
What was the reason given for this?
    When did they change this?
Where did the actual game loving devs go?
Why the hell is this like this?

    [/ QUOTE ]
The first one is opinion-based, and I must decline answering it.
The last two sound more like rhetorical questions (in a rant-like way) than actual questions that we can give sound answers to.
  17. If we're working on making Endurance more manageable for lowbies, why not simply boost EndRed TO's to a performance more like DO's?

It might be a reminder that EndRed slotting is also important, not just the more obvious Acc/Damage.

Isn't "Brawling Melee" kind of redundant?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not if "Kicking Melee" is the alternative.

The idea of a Scrapper Primary that uses Punching to strike at the heart of a Warrior's Soul....if you haven't seen The Onion Movie, just Google "Seagal Puncher".
  19. My Random and Most Likely Incorrect Assumption: It could be the Arc ID number of thier arc and they want you to rate thier arc in return for rating yours. To test this highly unlikely theory, use the MA search function and plug in "1412". If the arc with that ID number is authored by the global name that sent you the tell, then that's it.

    I'd say it's more likely "It's a bug".
  20. [ QUOTE ]
The fact that it displays as an option is some indication that it was supposed to be but the Devs probably created the current system to ensure the integrity of the Crab powers' animations. That way Crab Spiders couldn't remove the pack and have their energy blasts and grenades just appearing out of mid-air. It's an unfortunate effect from a less than elegant solution but it's what we've got.

    [/ QUOTE ]
During the Halloween Event, when you can get the Temp Power Costumes, that's what happens. You, as a Spectral Pirate (or whatever) just squat a little and energy blasts shoot forward from points well above your shoulders when you use Suppresion.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
In fact, I wanted to try something fun and different, so I rolled and Elec/Elec.

Then I hit the boards for build advice and was stunned. Could all of the negativity be true? It seems like nothing but negative posts about it, the most recent guide was from I7 and now I'm thinking, either I'll run this to 50 just to show them or I'm wasting my time.
Any advice for the Elect/Elect Brute noob?

    [/ QUOTE ]
It plays as an Offensive build. Tanking isn't what it does. Just rush in and lay down the AoE's as fast as you can, building momentum as you go.
It lacks some of the tools to make it the sturdiest, Tankiest thing out there.
    However, it has:
Limitless Endurance. 2-slotted Stamina+6-slotted Power Sink make Conserve Power redundant.
The ability to Sap mobs for luz.
Immunity to EndDrain. Look in the AE and you should be able to find an all Sappers and walk through it with a smirk. (As long as you took Grounded.)
Pretty Red Lightning for Energy Damage. Many foes don't like getting hit by Energy damage.
    A +RunSpeed, +Recharge passive power (Quickness-clone)

Against certain foes (Freakshow, Rikti, etc.) it does quite well, as it has excellent resistance against Energy Damage.

It has a few weaknesses though, as you've heard. Stay far, far away from anything doing Toxic damage.
I'd put Lightning Field (The PBAoE damage toggle) off until after Stamina, and slot it two EndRed, 1 Acc, 2 Damage. Using IO's, squeeze that performance into four slots and EndMod the other two.
  22. It's a shame that you specified Primary. If you had not, I would have ranted about the glories of limitless Endurance that Electric Armor gives.

1412 was what they actually typed. Your guess is as good as mine to figure out what they meant by it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Couldn't they have just left the comments section blank?
Unless I am mistaken you can leave a rating without a comment can't you?

[/ QUOTE ]I often rate without commenting.
  24. Thank you, I'll give that a shot.

Might as well ask this now...

Pounding Slugfest is 15-30 which means anyone lv15+ can slot it and still benefit from the bonuses, enhancement buffs, and the proc...correct?

    [/ QUOTE ]
The L15 can slot the L15-18 pieces in that set.
    [ QUOTE ]

a lvl20 character with a full set of lvl20 Pounding Slugfest will have the same benefit as a lvl50 character with the same lvl20 set...right?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes, but a L25 set will give slightly better Acc/Damage/Rech/Endred enhancement than a L20 set.
