I agree with the bolded section, but you have not come up with anything that I feel a good method to accomplish this.

The above bolded sections are false.
    I do non-AE story arcs.
I also do AE non-farm arcs.
At 5AM, I am seeing villians in every zone I enter, including Cimerora, so obviously, they are not all inside the Cap AE. People on VU2009 are noting that the farmers in Cap are not online, but there are plently of non-farmers around, so to say that the farms are all that are going on is false.

If they all left while you were gone, how do you know what thier reasons were? Half of them were farmers and the other half left because they hate farmers? None of them were in the middle, the vast majority that are still here?
Go buy a lottery ticket, because the odds of that are pretty wild.

(1)AE is being used for Farming and there are LVL 50 New Player are being born,People who don't no how play their characters and they end up causing problems on TFs and Grouping. Trust me I have seen it.

(2)AE is being mis-used and don't Blame us for your mistake, Devs who were behind AE shouldn't have overlooked the fact AE can be used for Farming. I kind of believe the launch of AE was too quick and needed more time. A lot of my friends left and stated that they won't return until you guys fix this XP farming hell.

(3)Positron was too harsh on Banning, Deleting of characters and xp Cut on there, I think he was too hard on everyone and should say sorry or whatever. AE I love to make my own story and by that part alone I am Proud of Devs for making it but Farming has got to stop and should be halted asap. [Sentence Fragment: Less Taskforce,Grouping and] AE killed the Radio Mission.

These are the three things that ruined the AE for me and I can't play this game anymore. It's just a lot of people talking about leaving the game. They talk about Coh is Dieing and Dude I don't want that to happen. Please Posi Don't Blame us for misusing it. It's an addiction like Drinking, Coffee,Smoking and Etc. You try to avoid it but your friends tell you to go do it, it a fast way to LVL UP and you try it out. The next thing you are hooked on it and can't stop.

OK Posi and the Devs, maybe it was little bit of everyones fault on how AE turned out. A little of that was our fault and little bit was the devs, but really you can't hold fault on all of us. We all are to be blame and I ask you to do something to stop Farming or More Veteran players will quit the game.

I have also some Idea on how to Improve AE if you want some advice.

    (1) Put a lvl 25 lvl cap on AE or give it out as an Award for reaching 50 so the new player beable still play up to 50 the old fashion way.

    (2)Remove AE form lowbie zone's
    .
(3)Do not grant no Acess to AE for lower lvl toon.

(4)Cut Xp Gain in Half in AE

    (5) remove Xp all together form AE
I can take your suggestion more seriously if you style it less as a rant. Some of your statements are just hyperbole.

"It's just a lot of people talking about leaving the game"? Nonsense. That's the whining of a few. And if they were leaving, they would be gone.
And if they were gone, you wouldn't hear thier whining. Hopefully, on thier way out, they would respec out of thier enhancements, post them on the Market at $1, use all the resulting $Inf to donate to a random stranger, then delete thier characters to free up the names.

    As for your solutions:
1, 3, 5) No. The AE was advertised as a means to get from L1-50. No changing that or you have accusations of false advertisement. There was no promise that it would be given as a method to do so more quickly than main-game missions, though.
    2) I can see this one. New blueside players will not be bombarded with spam until they've played some of the original content. Or at least run a sewers team. Either way, they will learn that there is more than one zone before they hit L50.
But redside, the AE farming is done in Cap Au Diable, a L10-20 zone that is a rough analogue of Steel Canyon. Yanking the AE out of Mercy won't do much of anything for redside farming, so I expect blueside farming would move to Steel Canyon or Talos. (I don't see KR or Skyway becoming hubs.)
    4) Maybe, but you would be cutting both legitimate and "exploit" play. I'm not a fan of punishing everyone to catch a few.

You say that you hate all the farming, yet Positron was too harsh in his decision? If he was harsh, or too harsh, it would have been more noticable and effective. How many characters did you get de-leveled or deleted? How many deleted/de-leveled characters did your friends have?

You seem really eager to partially shift the blame for farming exploits from the farmers to the Developers. They stated quite plainly that the intention was not to create farms or participate in AE farming. Read the ingame AE tutorial. They have the right to ban anyone intentionally misusing the tools given.

Your addiction and peer pressure arguments fail. You are responsible for your own actions.

That's a valid concern. While the reciever-side filter *might* cause this, I really don't think that a "Delete All" button would.
The same people would be deleting spams, but could do it quicker.
The folks that keep thier RMTmail would still do so.

The only negative thing I see would be a decrease in use of the "Spam" button, which flags the sender as a Spammer (for TPTB to look at and take action if needed) and places the sender on Global Ignore. And yes, if your ignore list is full, the oldest ignore is dropped to make room.

*TPTB=The Powers That Be, whoever is in charge back there at corporate.

    Street Sweeping

I like this idea, for reasons that other posters have already mentioned.

Now since the (blueside) zone Security Chiefs have almost nothing to do, I'd have them give an endless string of "Hunt 20-25 $faction Foes" (Anything more than 25 is an intentional waste, IMO). This could be tied in as well.

    /loc(ate)

If you're intending to find a Explore badge in a dangerous zone (high-level, PvP, etc.)
    try this:
    /Bind L Loc
Then move about a safer zone, tapping the button repeatedly until you have a good feel for navigating by this instrument.
Then enter the dangerous zone and proceed.

    AE suggestions

Isn't there one in the RWZ? It should allow for co-op teams and being level-restricted, you would also expect to hear less farm-spam, too.

You wouldn't be able to put together low-level co-op teams, though, so this might not suit your purposes.
  9. Changing the color of the status bars might not work for everyone. So you can tell the relative level of a foe by what color they "con", with white=your level, Yellow=+1, etc., but for the color-blind there is the option of using the little triangles under the target's name.

    Instead, I propose something different.
Remember how dead teammates have thier AT symbol in the team window replaced by a skull? Replace thier AT symbol with the "Confused" emoticon when mezzed. Like this:
Should be easy to spot in battle without having to deal with the full stack of buff/debuff icons that string across the screen.

    Email Spammage

Well, I've suggested that the "Reply All" button is perhaps the most useless button on the Email interface (withthe possible exception of SG interaction), and should be replaced with a "Delete All", which we currently do not have.

And there is of course the Suggestion for a recipient-side filter. Imagine if YOU could set which people could or could not send you ingame Email. You could choose to recieve Emails from RL friends on trial accounts and disable "Recieve from Trials" and "Recieve from Strangers" if they upgrade to full accounts or are added to your friends list. Fewer restrictions would be placed on legitimate users, but RMT-Spammers would waste thier time reaching fewer players per minute. Sure, those who actually want to recieve random spam could opt to do so, but that's only two kinds of folks:
Potential Buyers (who could find these services through out-of-game resources)
And those players who wish to report the spammers.
Imagine if only SG-mates and people on YOUR friends list could send you Email. Do you think that would reduce the amount of random spam you would get?
Then please support "Recipient-side Email Filters" the next time it's suggested.

I sent Positron a PM on the boards (the week before the transition) asking if there were any plans to make any changes to the ingame Email system. I haven't recieved so much as "Your message has been read".
I am not expecting that he would reveal thier exact plans, if they had any, but a general statement would be nice. Even a simple "Yes."

    Other suggestions I've heard:
Capping Emails sent per X amount of time.
Charging $Inf for "postage" of Emails. (Not a big fan of this one, though)
Increasing the size of our ignore list or making a seperate one for those ignored as spammers, so as not to unignore regular jerks once the list gets full and the oldest ones drop off.

There's a few more ideas I've forgotten, some decent, some bad.

The folks over at the US boards would mostly only point out spelling/grammar errors in four instances:
    1) In posts that looked like they were typed by hitting the keyboard with a dead squirrel.
    2) In the thread title.
    3) In a post that correcting someone else's grammar or spelling.

    Mail System

It's not enough that you can already transfer wealth to other characters of yours?

    Let's see:
Same Faction, any server: Use the Market.
Either Faction, any server: Get another player, via the forums. (Cross-faction may cost a conversion rate, but the service exists.
Either Faction, Same Server: Grab someone off of a Global.
Same Faction, Same Server, Same SG: Toss valuables into SG Bins, log onto other character and grab it out.

    Also:
In this game, any character can be monetarily self-sufficient, so there is no need for a character to have a sugar-daddy in order to be equiped with good enhancements.
I understand that other games don't work like CoH in that respect, but that's thier problem, not ours.

And why would one of your characters benefit from the efforts of some other hero they've never even met?
  16. In my house I get told that what I call a cookie is sometimes called a biscuit. *imagines Sesame Street having a Biscuit Monster*
And what we call biscuits (Y'know, like served at KFC?) are called Scones.
And Scones aren't pronouced like "Cones", but similar to "Sconce", which is a lamp mounted on a wall.
    *shrug*

    True.
But it's not a measure of how they behave in RL. It's sort of a measure of how they choose to behave here (margin of error if griefing or cliqueishness pops up), where they have the internet's cloak of anonymity.

If someone's a "doosh" in RL, do you expect them to behave well in a pixelated intarwebz forum where absolutely no one can punch them in the snout or step on thier Adidas?
  20. Ah yes, I just found that.
Also, there is a limit on how much Rep you can throw around in one day.
  21. My SG has Salvage storage bins. They usually just have Halloween salvage in there, but Invention Salvage fits too. So there's the first half solved.

As for the Recipe storage, you can craft most of the recipes into IO's and store them that way. Okay, not costume (Wings and boots) pieces, Temp Powers and Respec Recipes, but with the exception of the last one, they are pretty cheap.
  22. I'm not sure that a non-moving face could be made to look like it's chewing gum (or chewing anything, really) without just having a lump on one side. Like a tumor.
But hey, if the art guys can pull it off, sure.

The cigarette sounds good, but if we are going to have alternatives to the cigar, then there would hopefully be not only the cigarette dangling from the lip option, but also the option of one in a cigarette holder, like FDR or women in old movies used to use.

Bleh. Rather than memorizing the doors, this lower decided not to bother with the zone that was unlocked only on characters too low to enter.

Just figured I'd get that out there early before the merger and before DOOM!
    Dear Brits,
I realize that the words "Colour" and "Armour" started out with "U's" in them. And you guys may wonder why we took the letter "U" out of them to make "Color" and "Armor".
You may even be under the impression that we did it as a time-saver or out of laziness.
    That's not entirely the reason.
You see, we have a supply of children who are semi-illiterate and unable to communicate in a text-based medium. So we gave them little "starter words" to play with, much as you might toss a scrap of food to a dog under the table. They get to text things like "U R go home? OMG lol" and such until they learn full language skills later in life.
But we had to create these starter words from somewhere, so we plucked them out of the existing language, in places we thought that they wouldn't be to sorely missed.
    Thank you.

Also, we kept the "U"s in "Velour" and "Thought" as spares, just in case we need them later.
