Oh, dear.
Someone needs to -Rep or +Rep PK. His Rep-title (not to be confused with his reptile) is "$name is a splendid one to behold".
His ego is going to be so big it'll break the forums! -
Ah, of course.
Random number of attacks (whether they hit or miss) taken against you, then?
They already track attacks aimed at you, as evidenced by the Brutes' Fury Bar, which climbs not just from successful enemy attacks, but from all of them. -
I understand your frustration.
My solutions would include:
A) A "Good enough for government work" option. Complete 95%+ of the Defeat All or "Find all the glowies on the outdoor map" and get a mission complete button....with the mission complete bonus reduced to 95%.
OR
B) A "Where did everybody go?" option. The very last spawn starts to nervously chatter amongst themselves, since no one else is checking in on the squad radios.
OR
C) A "Let's get pro-active!" option. The very last spawn decides that since no one else is answering thier radio, THEY are going to go find YOU. AI switches from "Placed, Static" to "Ambush".
OR
D) A "Radar Tracker" Temp power. Similar to other games where foe show up on your HUD, you could find the last spawn on the map. -
I'd like to see a Double Drop-Rate Weekend sometime. With no bonus XP.
*smirk* -
1) The very first time I had a train mission. I had been on at least one (someone else's) before that, but I felt proud that it was my very own little zone, even if only for the duration of the mission. That was a good newb moment for me.
2) In the yellow-line tram in Steel, a L50 had a bugged ambush hovering above the doors to enter the train. It was a flying L50 Malta Sapper and was ignoring him. It was also ignoring me, a L8 Scrapper (I was not teamed). A crowd formed just inside the doorway of the tram, just barely able to see the scene.
So what did I do?
I drew my broadsword and started jumping, trying to hit a foe that was +42 to me. After a "lol" from the L50 and a whole lot of misses, I finally hit the Sapper. It turned and Zapped the heck out of me, draining all of my end, but not killing me. Then it continued to ignore me. -

I'd rather that it pop upon recieving X amount of damage. You would want it more in the middle of a fight than after defeating the enemy.
Kind of a "Do you know who your messing with? POW!! I'm a Hero of the City, [censored]!" kind of thing. -
Quote:Yes, I would still AE under those conditions, but I am only one player, and a poll with a very small sample size doesn't give much accuracy.1. Capped the XP to the same or as less as 'normal' missions,
2. Removed auto SK,
3. Limited the spawn sizes and amount of bosses per map?
4. Finally, Made maps only available to zones of that lvl?
And I only solo in the AE, when I do go, so #2 and #3 don't apply to me. -
Quote:Something else in your computer logs you off of programs when inactive, maybe? Could this be a third-party thing, outside of the ingame AFK timer? It's possible I was just mapserved, but I was sitting at the computer when it happened, I just hadn't pressed any buttons for a few minutes. And the message definitely said something about being logged out due to inactivity. Maybe it was a bug, and it just popped up the wrong message?

Quote:Exactly. The poor-by-choice don't deserve any sympathy. If you don't want to play the market / pay attention to the prices you set when selling stuff, don't come here and cry because you don't have any money. You cannot, after all, expect influence to be given for doing nothing? It comes in heaps if you're willing to do very little.
This also goes for impatient people (includes me sometimes as well). If you can't wait for a couple of days or a week to save influence (sometimes LARGE amounts of influence), don't come here and cry because you ran out of money.
Except, there's no "Playing the Market" needed. Just USING the Market earns you enough money off your drops as you play the game to allow any character to be monetarily self-sufficient and equiped in decent enhancements at all times.
Unless you want the very tippy-top-most peak enhancement sets. In which case, you still don't need to use Marketeering. You can earn them playing the game normally and collecting the $Inf accordingly.
It is my belief that the $Inf earned directly from defeating foes pales in comparison to the value of the drops they give. At L50, you may want Purple sets. At that point, you should be completely capable of earning a lot of $Inf/hour. And it's not like Purple enhancements are any good to a character before L50, who can't slot them, or to a character that won't be played after L50.
I've tried being stupid and lazy and I'm still not broke. I still ended up dinging L50 at 300 million and enhanced to soft-capped Defence. -
Quote:670 Million Inf, plus whatever he had on him before the transfer? Here's another point for you though... I'm certainly not poor (or wasn't poor) after this last double xp weekend.... after getting a purple drop on me and selling it for 250 mil infl, and making a TON of money on several of my 50s, I pooled it all together, and it added up to close to 650mil, which I transferred over to villains side with the help of a very nice, rich person, who actually included a bonus of 20 mil infamy for no reason, and didn't charge me a dime for the transfer.
So, that's 670mil infamy, right? I decided, I'm going to do the best I can to set out my Elec/WP Brute who just hit 50 on double xp weekend WITHOUT putting a single purple in him.
670 mil infamy later? He's still only halfway done. Sure, you have a point that no one *should* be poor in this game, but when *&(*&%^ flippers and marketeers charge EXHORBANT prices (especially on villains side) for EVERYTHING, including common salvage, I beg to differ. Even the *modestly rich* like myself wind up becoming poor because of the ridiculous prices posted for things that SHOULD be cheap. I saw a ceramic armor plate going for 1 MILLION infamy this past weekend. No, I didn't pay that for it, but I saw someone did, and it made me sick to my stomache. Either there aren't enough people playing the game anymore to warrant supply vs. demand, or....
...Another interesting point...
AE.
'Nuff said.
"The One"
Can't call poverty on that one. His total value of all his stuff, both liquid (Inf in pocket) and invested (enhancements slotted) are pretty high, by many folks' standard.
Poverty eludes you. -
Quote:I've heard that levels below 22ish (give or take. Stamina + SO's, usually) are a poor indicator of a powerset's combat ability. So I feel it's safe to assume that L1-10 aren't a good indicator of how well wealth can be accumulated in normal gameplay.I can totally understand how people can be poor. I have a lot of characters under level 10 that haven't done much on the market and are poor. After 10 or 12 levels, though, it's really, really, really hard to not be rich. And if you are trying to not be poor, it's hard to remain in that state beyond level 5 or 6.

I'd be a bit cross with contacts who blurted out my real name while I'm in my Costumed ID. You can never be sure who is listening.

Quote:It's not like it was a secret. You farm Dark Astoria?!
*goes and starts a thread about how Dark Astoria is ruining CoX*
Not with terms like ZPM (zombies per minute) being thrown about the Market forum at one time.
And it's not like I would have a character or two who are designed to play primarily at L50 and L29-ish. -
Quote:Quite nice.ACROSS ALL /Elec on Test Conserve power is replaced:
NEW POWER: Energize
60% Endurance discount for 30 seconds.
468 hp heal unenhanced at level 50.
100% Regeneration Increase for 30 seconds.
Recharge time 120 seconds.
Dropping 6-slotted Aid Self for this power will allow me to 6-slot it as well.
And then, there will be the question of what to trade a 1-slotted Aid Other for.
But I welcome the change greatly. -
Poverty is tough!
I'm no Marketeer. I'm a Casual Player.
I don't flip, stack, reflip, steat Inf transfers or use ebil tricks of Market PvP.
I don't use sugar daddy characters, farm the uber-maps or enter costume contests.
I just play the game normally, and sell my drops for a reasonable price at the Market. Usually at less than 2/3rds the average of the Last Five. Except for what's truly Vendor Trash and wouldn't likely sell even if I listed it for negative influence.
I set my characters up with decent Set IO's. Not Purples, and not usually the best non-purple sets either, but good sets.
I run in SG mode at all times.
And yet, I still can't figure out how people can be poor if they just defeat the little pixellated pinatas and gather up the drops that fall into thier inventory. After all this laziness I described above, I still end up with millions when I hit that final ding, and heaven help me, it's worse if I continue playing after that ding, to finish the contact's arc or such.
Poverty eludes me. -

Does it log you out if you are on a TF or Ouro mission?
-
PK, have you ever watched that series "The Penguins of Madagascar" on Cartoon Network? I never saw the movie, but my son and I enjoy the show.
And I like to imagine King Julien's voice reading your posts. -
My arcs are designed to be soloable and lowbie-friendly. They use Longbow and Security Guards, so they will scale to your level.

Quote:1) Turning into a Bird or a Wing Animal. (Other than bats, I can't think of too many winged animals). There are a few seagulls in Port Oakes, I think, but it would take a bit of work to turn these into usable player skeletons, requiring a metric boatload of animations to reflect reacting to various attacks and powers used on you.I Have Idea's for more Travel Power or Costumize the travel powers you got now,I mean in comics books Some heroe's With Speed,Jumping, teleportation and flight. What if there more ways to travel Like Turning into a Bird or a Wing Animal,Turning into a Wolf or Tiger for Super Speeded. How About Traveling Underground like a mole or Swinging on a Vine or Grapping Hook. How about a Jet Pack or Rockets boots that aren't a Costume Piece or a Temp power,Ice Slideing ,Water Slideing and Lava Slideing. Not sure if travel powers can be Costumize and if so,I like to see stuff like a fire Aura or Energy aura aorund the travel power.
Would you lock out your attack powers while using your travel powers, like Kheld forms lock out some powers? It would look silly to throw Assault Rifle or Broadsword attacks from an African Red-crested Swallow.
2) Turning into a Wolf or Tiger for "Super Speeded". See above.
3) Traveling Underground. You couldn't actually travel below the map, so I assume that this would be like Teleport, only along the ground and with a digging in and popping up animation instead of the hover period.
4) Swing on a vine or grappling hook.
Would require thousands of connection points added in every zone.
And some zones like Nerva or Indy Port would have no buildings to swing from, Spidey.
5) A Jet Pack or Rocket Boots that weren't costume pieces or Temp powers? What would they be then? Power customization thrown onto the Fly power? Okay. Fine.
6) Ice/Water/Lava Sliding? Sure. A new trio of Prestige Sprints?
7) Auras around travel powers? Okay. One can hope for travel powers to get hit by the Power Customization bug eventually.
In the meantime, get two identical costumes. One with and one without an aura. (Yeah, this only works for L30+) I did this with Insect Wings and Fly.
/bind H "cc0$$powexectoggleon Sprint$$powexectoggleoff Fly"
/bind J "cc1$$powexectoggleoff Sprint$$powexectoggleon Fly"
Yes, you can only switch costumes no sooner than every thirty seconds, but other than that, it works.
