Nuetral as in Indiscriminate and Destructive?
Absolutely. -
-
False on the "need" part.
If it was needed, then we wouldn't have thrived without it.
Any character in this game can be financially self-sufficient.
There are already plenty of ways to transfer wealth between characters.
1) Drop valuable items into SG bins, .
2) Use the Market.
3) Use a second account.
4) Use another player. (Cross-faction or cross-server trades are possible this way.)
While not needed, I see this as a QoL thing for people unwilling to use the existing methods, and yes, I would possibly use it if it where implemented. -
Quote:An unmodified L1 character can't carry that much.So what might the devs consider reasonable? Probably not more than what an unmodified character can carry. I'm guessing the best we could hope for would be
2 billion inf
50 salvage
10 enhancements
20 inspirations
20 recipes (Tho I must admit the pessimist in me thinks it'll be a cold day in hell before they let us move recipes around easily.) -
Quote:Thread ratings are still a flawed system too. We occasionally had people who would go into a server's section and one-star every thread in it. Which would start a thread blaming a different server, which would result in someone one-starring that server's threads, etc.I think this is why it'd be better to have no rep for individuals, and simply leave thread ratings.
Even the tags have thier flaws, as they have been used for nonsense. -
Well, Sam, you've got me thinking about something now.
I'm going to have to get on my Electric Brute tomorrow morning and play with Sappers to see how different ranges provoke them. [Grounded] ftw! -
-
Sounds good.
I'd have it as something you could assign in the character creator, and updated every once in a while, about as frequently as titles. -
It's like trying to get TP Foe (possibly in AoE form?) and Recall Friend in one power, and thus one casting. In certain situations, I could see it being fun and useful.
In others, not so much.
I'm reminded of Group Fly. On paper and in theory, it sounds great. In practice (in it's current form), it's rather unpopular. -
Feel free to come back with a fleshed-out set.
How few ranged attacks would you be willing to have in the set and still feel that both weapons got reasonable treatment?
(Bonus if using Brawl with the Pistol out used a pistol-whip animation. Actually, you could have a low-damage melee attack with a small chance to Stun for a pistol-whip attack and give the pistol more even footing with the sword, yet not add an additional ranged attack.)
I would say that keeping the pistol attacks very limited in range would help balance out the fact that they are ranged at all, in a melee AT.
Additional Edit: You could wait until GR comes out and see what the Dual Pistols powers look like and then modify a few of those, or use them for inspiration. -
We already have melee sets with a few ranged attacks (Claws, Spines), so having one or two short-ranged attacks in a set shouldn't be too bad.
Having both weapons out would seem to only make sense if at least three or four of the attacks were ranged.
I guess I'd be more comfortable with a Pistols APP, though. -
In some instances, it could be useful.
In others, it could be a problem.
Imagine trying to grab fallen teammates from a teamwipe, only to pull the mob onto you. Depending on your powersets, build and level (in comparison to the foes), that spawn that wiped most of your team will probably drop you as well.
Or trying to grab the teammate who is on his way to the mission, traveling through the higher-level sections of the zone.
As a power, I would not choose it. As an IO, I would sell it, not buy it.
I suppose, in the situation I listed above, I could just use the Veteran or Temp versions of "Recall the whole Team".
I like the thread title though. -
Or, a percentage of the listing fees at the Market could go into a pot, being awarded to a random player(s) upon some predetermined thing.
Like one random sale each hour, or some random guy logging in, etc. -
I could grind radio missions without having to go to multiple mission doors? I expect that the mission doors closest to the Detective/Broker would become very popular.
-
You want something more elaborate than stars? How about "points"?
Or a more detailed rating, such as a grade sheet:
Quote:This Arc has:
Story: None/Bad/Mediocre/Decent/Excellent
Grammar and Spelling: Gibberish/Poor/Decent/Almost Perfect/Flawless
Playability: Impossible / Boring / Decent / Good
Other: Hated it / Disliked it / Was Okay / Liked it / Loved it -
Well, if the Ebil ones get thier top-hat and monacles, then the Farmers surely need an outfit as well.
Shall we ask for a bAEbies unlockable outfit as well?
Unlocked by: Go from L1-50 training only in Cap Au Diable or Atlas Park.
Tights w/skin option: Puffy version of the "briefs" pattern. -
Perhaps:
Accolade Reward for Redside: Grandville Dayjob+AE Dayjob
Version For Blueside: Portal Corps+AE
Overalls definately, but if it's going to be Accolade-level, let's toss in a Straw Hat option as well.
*smirk* -
I'd be happy if Auto-payment was an option.
It's not like Prestige is that high for most bases that a single mission or two can't pay the rent, it's the minor nuisance/time-sink of trekking off to Port Oakes or (GC?), zoning as many times as needed, then returning. Good thing that during the return trip you can use the SG portals, if equipped. -
Interesting. Coveralls for the Pipe Wrench or Shovel-wielding /WarMace Tanks.
Overalls for the Farmers.
But I haven't seen any Overalls. -
Quote:Ooh! Elec/Elec Brute!I tried soloing on my elec/elec brute. I think I'd rather go through a root canal without the use of pain killers. I can barely take an Lt and two minions and I have to rest after every other fight. Plus the XP compared to teams is garbage.
I enjoyed mine greatly. Looking at your former posts, I see "Day 4: L16".
You have some very good powers to look forward to.
Chain Lightning is no longer the dog that it used to be.
Grounded allows you to ignore Malta Sappers later on, and provides your KB resistance.
And from there it gets better, Stamina+Powersink=Limitless Endurance. Conserve Power was utterly redundant.
Lightning Field+Powersink= the ability to sap foes to nothing.
While soloing may give less XP/hour than teaming, you should recieve much better wealth/level in the form of drops.
Low-level Brutes are quite dependant on Endurance, since Fury requires momentum. A fair number of Brutes skip damage enhancements early on, focusing on Endurance to build Fury and Fury to generate Damage. -
Ah, venting. Well, I just wanted to be helpful if I could.
If it makes you feel any better, there are plently of folks who feel as you do, particularly with the paragraph that you ended with ".....Makes me want to vomit."
Well, maybe not all feel as vehemently about it as you do, but some do.
You can find and join some of the AE Rant threads already in progress, if you like.
Cheers! -
Quote:Psychological Warfare was the short-lived "Pantsless Costume".
That's it! Statesman wears that goofy half-helmet thing to show everyone that he's just too hard-core to wear sensible headgear! He's silently telling everyone "yes, I look ridiculous, but there's nothing you can do about it"! It's psychological warfare! -
If you are a team oriented player and have been unsubbed for a while, teams may indeed seem harder to find.
I-16 is in open Beta, so a number of folks are on the Test Server.
If your hiatus was long, it may have been before the new, expanded /hide feature. People are able to Hide from the Search menu without being hidden from thier Friends and SG. (The Search Menu is thought to be a main method the RMT Spammers use to populate thier "mailing lists")
I recommend joining one of the Global Channels for your server. It may help you meet new folks, and usually quite decent, knowledgable players. I imagine that if you were on Virtue and said on VU2009 "Hey, relatively new player here. Can anyone use a Level <level> <Archtype>?" you might get a bite. -
Quote:How do you get "nerf the ability to solo" out of TrueMetal's post? So, they are going to nerf the ability to solo right at the time when people will be potentially flooding in to escape a forced grouping situation.
Dosen't seem to make much sense. If I can't run AE in peace and be forced to ask for PUs to accomplish my goals, this game would become a clone of everything else out there.
This game is easily solo'ed, both in AE and in Main Game, by most AT's.
I haven't tried to solo all the AT's, but I've done it with: Tank, Scrapper, Blaster, Defender, Kheldian (briefly), Stalker, SoA, Corruptor, Brute and MM. -
Quote:Were you using /search to check the numbers? I believe that with the new granulated /hide allowing people to hide from Search without hiding from friends and SG-mates, a higher percentage of people may be hiding from Search (and thus Blind Invites and the RMT'ers who are trying to add names to thier mailing lists).I've been watching numbers all weekend. Once upon a time it was common for me to see 400-500 villains logged in on a Friday night. This meant that therre were 800-1000 heroes logged in for a total Pinnacle login of 1200-1500.
Last night I saw the total was under 300.
All servers green.
Is this proof that nerfs drew people away?
Of course not. I-16 is on test. Lots of people ARE checking out CO. Satan knows that when Mechwarrior goes live I'll be disappearing again.
Are the servers ghost towns right now? Comparatively, yes. Is now a stupid time to be checking population levels? Of course it is. Let's check again two weeks after I-16's go live.
So there were quite probably a fair bit more people around than you counted.
I agree with your points.
