Quote:The easiest way would be to simply blow it on the market.I tried giving money away once.. its harder than it looks!
Bid a few million for a bunch of tier-one inspires or some lowbie DO's.
Maybe some teen-level Pet Damage or Snipe recipes.
I'm sure the lucky recipients will appreciate the gift, although anyone reading the last 5 will whine "OMG I can't afford ANYTHING! The Market is evil from the marketeers and farmers and Positron and....<stupid rant>!"
But, being anonymous, you won't get pestered by beggar tells either. -
I like this idea. It's certainly interesting.
I could go for the bonus as per the OP, or as a surprise of being a non-set dual IO. Example: 32% ACC becomes 20% Acc/20%EndRed. Although that might not be as popular. -
Quote:Instead of the team-buffs that make his pets more resistant, and thus better able to defend him? And the loss of the Foe DeBuffs that make his ememies harm him less. That's part of the trade-off you would see.Power Suggestions
I had some ideas...
-"Invunerability" for Masterminds
Masterminds are the ones who need the most protection for they are the brains of any operation, and should be guarded as though they were Gold. You could use the powersuit that Lex Luthor wore in Superman/Batman:Public Enemies. It protected him from harm, and gave him worlds of strength, but the armor part of it is what I am discussing.
-
Quote:Remember the powers poll? I voted for Force Fields as a Defensive set, so I like this idea.
-"Personal Force Field" for Tankers and Brutes
Much like the Force Field powers that Controllers and Defenders have, this version of the Personal Force Field would be used to protect a single hero, rather than many.Maybe the armor could do a trick or two as well. Some of the powers are already there, such as..
-The Personal Force Field
-Insulation Shield
-Repulsion Field
You have three powers there. Care to flesh it out to nine for us?
You could go the route of /SR and toss in a Practiced Brawler clone for mez resistance.
A modified PFF could be the tier 9.
Dispersion Field could be a self+team +Def, much like TT:Manuevers for the SoAs.
Instead, we got Shields, Dual Blades and Willpower. Good sets, but there are still ideas out there that would be good. -
Maybe they are all tied together by the login server, so they kind of have to? Well, all of the US servers tied to each other and maybe all the Euro servers tied to each other at least.
I don't know. Just a theory.
I'd recommend at least staggering the times of the Monday ones vs. the Friday ones though. -
While I'm sure that I heard about the AE channel at some point earlier, I was only really reminded of it's existance by someone* on the Help Channel on Virtue.
And once I put it into a tab in the chatbox, I think that I've only heard one or two players use it, including the one that mentioned it on Help.
So, in my mind, it's a very underutilized resource, like the Help channel is on the non-Virtue servers that I've played on. ((No, I've definately not played on ALL the servers recently.))
An underutilized thing is a waste. Let's get some milage out of it. -
Sounds good to me.
Well, at least adding it into one of the default tabs for those that actually keep the default settings. The channel needs a little something in the way of "Hey look, here's a new channel and here's what it does." -
Quote:I agree that a unique character with a cool name is a priority for many, including myself. And I too, do not like the idea of throwing a number or some other random letters (or random/silly punctuation) onto a name to get it, as...<Opinion Warning!>..it usually looks stupid.I have noticed that when I create a new character that the hardest part of character creation has been finding a name that is not already in use. If there is anything a player wants it is unique character with a cool name. I do not like the idea of throwing a number after a name just to have a certain title. How about a name generator or giving veteran players some priority on names. I am sure there are pleanty of dead accounts that are soaking up some very cool names. Just a suggection.
The name generator idea sounds interesting. I think there is one already available online if you google hard enough, but to have a good one tied into the game might be promising.
Of course, you'll get the thesaurus suggestion above, and some folks like to use English-<OtherLanguage> dictionaries, but I used the yellow pages to grab what I thought was an interesting name. Cinae Genesis. Just two random names of streets and businesses from the phone book.
There's also the fact that a name being taken on one server doesn't mean its taken on another. If you were a new player, you wouldn't have known that, and you probably wouldn't care which server you start on.
That's why I've suggested that the "Name Unavailable" pop-up should suggest other servers where the given name IS available, if there are any.
The veterans getting priority? I suppose that I would qualify for that priority, and yet I'm not a fan of that idea. I've had five years (and 8 slots per server) to grab whatever name I wanted, so if I didn't grab it then, I'll live without it.
Dead accounts soaking up names? They did a name purge once (or twice?) of names of low-level characters on dead accounts and found that it didn't free up that many names. Now, if I logged onto my dead account during a reactivation weekend and found my L40 or L50 characters were now "generic45632"? And they had not been EULA-breakers like "Sup3RM4n" or "<expletive>-Guy", do you think I'd consider renewing my subscription? Not too likely, even if the new issue had really cool features added since my last paid time.
A L4 that had been sitting around? I probably wouldn't care. -
Quote:U.S. Pacific here. Same problem.I'm on US Eastern timezone and this hits me as well. I like to get a little game time in before going to work. I liked the previous maintenance time better.
Oh well.
Prefered getting in some game time between 0400 and 0500 before heading for work.
Oh, well. -
Quote:This. Also, during the peak of the animation for Lightning Rod, you're far enough from the ground apparently for Grounded to fail. It shouldn't be a problem, but some enemies have an uncanny instinct for pegging you right during that moment of weakness (Longbow Ballistae especially). This is why my Elec/Elec Brute keeps a KB IO in Grounded itself, to avoid those occasional moments of weakness. Most really KB-heavy foes seem to appear on solid enough ground that I've never had a problem with them though, aside from the Lightning Rod issue.
There is a tiny period during Lightning Rod's animation where you are far enough from the ground. In my experience, I've rarely gotten hit for KB during that point, but it did happen. -
Quote:I don't have the long one, but I can quote one of the all-time legends of the forums.Oh look, another powerset respec thread. Anyone got the copy/paste response as to why this is a terrible, terrible idea in any form?
Quote:"no"
--Jranger
I appreciate that the poster's intentions of adding new stuff to the game, but just not this particular idea. In no way is this intended to be a personal attack against the OP and I wish him good luck and good gaming. -
Quote:Dunno, I'm not into that sort of thing. Now I'm curious, how much should I have charge this person? Did he mean actual or ingame currency?
They meant ingame currency.
Quote:Does having SS/Fire as a team search comment automatically mean I PL people? Have one of my friends leaked that I provide a free power levelling service to friends?
Doubt it, just a random beggar. Like "Can you spare some change?" doesn't mean that they know you have a job. -
Could have used:
PL-beggers: Able to see, but not use the Broadcast Channel and forced to actually play thier characters, with no Patrol XP. -
Congratulations.
Eventually, your post count will be a very large number.
And when you disagree with someone who cannot make a coherent point, they can resort to "you're just an elitist! That's why you don't like my idea to <Really Stupid Idea Here>, it's 'cus of my lower post count, you big bully!"
Post count is largely irrelevant.
and of course......
+1 -
It sounds okay.
Throw this in the stickied "Day Jobs Suggestion thread" at the top of the Suggestions section. -
Quote:One of the boards options is to block those things, and I enabled it so that I don't waste the screen space on them.I'd much rather look at a quote pyramid than some of the gigantic graphic sigblocks that are now allowed.
Before I did, I think I only saw one good one. It was Nelson pointing and giving a "Ha-Ha!" at the "Statesman_NA: Banned". (Nethergoat, maybe?)
The ignore list was wiped, and I didn't see the ignore option at first, but it's there. The three people who made my old list have thus been given a brief repreive, until they convince me to put them back on. -
Earnable Accolade?
What would the requirements be?
A (new) "Use the Fateweaver/Field Analysts 10 times" badge to unlock?
Some other badges as well? I can't think of too many more that would fit.
If you want additional badges needed, all I can think of offhand are:
Blueside: Hero Corps Insider (Exploration)
Hero Corps Recruit (Exploration)
Redside: Arachnos Official (Day Job)
Widower/Widow (Exploration)
Fortunata Seer (Gladiator)
[I'd would be a bit much to throw "Efficiency Expert" on that list, due to the level it shows up at. And of course, in line with redside Accolades, we would get a PvP badge required as well.] -
Quote:Sometimes, I quote not only to specify who I'm talking to and what statements in particular I'm referencing, but also to prevent them from trying to edit out thier comments.I hate when people do this the person just said something who else would be you talking to, although i some times do this
In the case of the Questions section, to preseerve the question (to give the answer some context) so the exact same question doesn't have to be asked again, having been answered already.
I just hate the "I got my question answered, so I'm going to delete it so no other new player knows the answer" thing.
Oh, and often enough, people typing at different speeds jump in front of each other. -
Quote:Spetsnaz come to mind.Even so, Luddites appear in a single mission, Goldbrickers make cameo appearances in a few, and the Legacy Chain and Wyvern are sort of there, but never actually have any sort of presence.
1 or 2 missions in a short, easily outleved arc, and zero outdoor presence.
Quote:And I wouldn't actually be against upping Port Oaks up to 15 (it's 5-10 now. Seriously?) and Cap up to 25, so I don't have to grind FIKKIN SHARKHEAD every bloody time through the same missions.
Now if you were advocating getting rid of (or improving) Nerva, you'd have my interest. -
Honestly, if a single-player version of this game eventually became available (and was playable on the computer I have at the time), I would be interested.
There would be some serious differences, though.
Most of the channels on the chatbox would be removed.
The Market would be a lot different. Presumably just fixed prices for everything and instead of drops, just give more $Inf.
I'm not sure I'd play Defenders or Controllers (particularly certain powersets of those) without having borrowable NPC teammates in that proposed single=player game. -
Start earning the merits earlier, but unable to cash them in them until L35 and Member of Vanguard?
At least that way you could have a shot of earning enough of them to do something with before L50.
The last character I ran through all of the RWZ arcs only made it to about 250 before finishing them all at L50. I would have to grind a heckuva lot of Borea missions if I wanted that increased Salvage capacity, let alone actually get a costume too.
And yes, I treated every mission as a Kill-All, whenever possible. -
Quote:Minor nitpick: While they might be difficult to find in DA, (particularly to red-sidersI'll start with just one:
Badge: Banisher
Current requirement: 200 Banished Pantheon spirit masks.
Proposed requirement: 50 to 100 Banished Pantheon spirit masks.
Reason: This badge really should have been tweaked with the round of I16 changes. It's practically impossible to get without farming or countless hours of mind-numbing sweeping. There is little reason for this one to be 200, when so many of the other 'boss' badges are 100.
I feel this one, however, should possibly be reduced below 100, due to the rarity of the Banished Pantheon, and the exceptional rarity of finding the masks anywhere outside of certain high grade missions (which are frequently farmed)) they are pretty easy to find in the woods of Bloody Bay. If you don't want to PvP, don't worry, it's pretty empty, particularly during off-peak hours. So "exceptional rarity" might be an exxageration.
Nitpick aside, I agree that it should be reduced to 100, to match other Boss Badges of 100. -
Quote:Most missions can be done as many times as desired via Ouroboros though. With the exception of farms that were later modified to add timers (Dreck, etc.) where the player has an 'old' copy of that mission. And if he's still re-running that old of a farm, I have little sympathy for losing it. He's had more than enough time to exploit the heck out of it and he can afford to let it go for another.Only time I see this as a problem is the following.
level 50 farmer has BM mission.
Charging lowbies an arm and a leg to PL.
50 dc's in mission after killing BM.
Team or 1 player decides to finish mission by clicking glowies.
>Poof< Farm gone.
The reason I say its a farmer who charges because if you were pl your friends, I would think you wouldnt charge them. But a stranger who wants 3-10 mill upfront then leaves mission. I can see people getting mad and ruining the farm.
Edit: I'm not saying that's what the OP was doing though. I have no idea which mission he was so attached to or what he really lost that he can't get. -

Badges already shiny.
((Um...is this a request/suggestion for different/improved artwork on the badges or am I missing something? I now return you to your three-word posting thread, which almost belongs in Forum Games.))
