I'll write you a prescription for some of Prescott Pharmacueticals' finest products. Bear in mind that cases of Photosynthetic Scalp, Cloven-hoof Syndrome, Third-Rectum Disorder and Corneal Bleeding are quite rare, but may occur in some instances.
-
-
Well, we'll have to schedule another visit to discuss the bigamy aspect of your mother marrying two men, so please see the receptionist on the way out.
Yes, there's hope for you, though.
We have some fine pharmacueticals that could be useful in your case, or at least amusing to me. How do you feel about growing additional appendages, spontaneous flatulence or narcolepsy?
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to order a rubber slipcover for this couch. I have a three-thirty appointment with someone who has a fetish for.....nevermind. Patient-Doctor Confidentiality and all. -
That you're an attention-seeker that feels the need to validate themselves in the opinions of others?
Lie down on this couch and tell us about your childhood.
*puffs on a pipe and readies a clipboard* -
Then you would have gotten in before the crowd, only to be called "Unoriginal" or a Copycat, possibly even by one of the complete strangers sporting a copy of your beloved sacrificial character's name and costume.
Sorry if I sound a bit jaded. -
Quote:Actually, before someone could make a differently named version of thier character, they would see about a dozen "homages" of them in Atlas Park, all with the usual name-cheating tactics of adding odd punctuation, spaces, numbers and such.Anyway back ontopic, there is a problem with this, what's to stop someone making a differently named version of their character who committed the heroic sacrifice?
I mean your standard comic book options are open to use, you know, "The one involved in the epic heroic last stand mission was a clone' 'has a twin that's only just stepped into the limelight' 'someone else taking up the mantle' 'was bought back by a higher power'. -
Quote:1. Agreed. That would be handier than shoving the WW menu to the far left and the recipes and salvage menus to the right and toggling back & forth.1. When going to WW and clicking on a clerk -- It would be nice to have an option screen or filter to show the salvage needed for the recipes that you are currently holding. This would make crafting multiple recipes much easier.
2. The enhancment tables in the base -- Can you make a filter to list the enhancments. ie - type, alphab, level, ect. It would make things easier.
3. I just find it strange that if we can hold 20 recipes shouldn't we be able to hold all the salvage for those 20?
2. Agreed. Although your SG will likely have some sort of method for determining what goes into each storage table, sorting them in the list of up to 100 items is pretty much by date&time of deposit. Not the most convienient method, IMO.
3. Agreed. We should definately decrease the recipe storage on characters to match thier salvage storage capability! Okay, just kidding. But if you're that OCD about things, then in the meantime, feel free to do the memorization badges for increased salvage capability and then grind Rikti for the Vanguard Merits to buy the Increased (+10) Salvage Storage Sack. -

Be sure to do the Midnighter's Club stuff first, so if you get invited to a ITF you can.

I'd run the story arcs from the contacts, and at least one cycle of "Radio(Newspapers)--->Safeguard(Mayhem)".
But to break that up, I'd head over to the AE building and do a Dev's Choice or Hall of Fame arc for good new content, then hit the AE search menu up for the "One Random Arc" button (in the advanced options) for the potential lulz of potentially awful attempts at mission creation.
Oh, and the RWZ arc stuff if you haven't already. -
I chose the name BBQ_Pork because my original forum name was a profanity in Afrikaans.
It's the name of a retired character I have on Virtue. Baxter, the Mutant Pig, showed up in Paragon City to fight crime. Not really understanding the concept of a secret identity or that heroes had seperate Hero Names and Real Names, the bored DMV-worker-like woman at City Hall wrote in "BBQ Pork" on the Hero Registration Card for this little mutant Fire/Fire Tank.
So, back when the forums allowed me to have an avatar, the avatar was a pig, not a sammich. -
Luckily, "Ultra Mode" won't have Smellovision, or else Mercy would spark cries of "Plz turn off Burning-Tires-Mode!" and Sewer teams in AP would be rather scarce .

Quote:I would toss a few characters at this, including my first L50 and my namesake. Now, before you answer... consider a few restrictions/guidelines:
1) ALL your character's actions on the TF will become Canon... so if they are the true hero of the day and lead their team to ultimate victory they will be remembered as such. If, on the other hand, they die in the first mission... that will also be well-documented.
2) This is, as in Omega Team, a suicide mission. Once you finish the Task Force you will lose access to that character. You have the honor of having them part of CoH lore, but you won't be able to play them anymore.
3) In order to qualify for the honor, the Devs want a hero (or villain, this is a co-op mission) who has a developed past. In other words, only those who have long proven themselves as worthy will be allowed to participate. The character must be a long-standing one (say it's been in existence for at least a year) and meet a minimum level of 35. So no rolling up a character and power-leveling them just for this purpose.
So... if this were offered... would you jump at the chance or avoid it like the plague?
Of the seven characters that I have that would qualify by your standards, (3 Hero and 4 villian) only one (maybe two) would have been accepted on the Omega Team, since "Magic Origin only" seems to be the case. -
Slotted in Transfusion, the Proc will affect the caster occasionally.

Quote:How about this.....Fighting: Slam (high damage smashing knockup)
Fitness: Grizzled (Auto Defense to cold, toxic and psi)
Flight: levitate (toggle Foe Sleep with no damage, they will levitate until attacked)
Leadership: Bravery (toggle PBAoE speed, defence and ToHit boost)
Leaping: landing (auto reduction in fall damage)
Medicine: Triage (click PBAoE regeneration boost)
Presence: Mocking Remark (foe ToHit decrease)
Speed: Charge (Teleport to targeted foe smashing knockback)
Teleportation: Change Dimension (Single foe intanglible)
Fitness: Grizzled (Auto RESISTANCE to Cold, Toxic and Psi).
Flight: Afterburner (Click +FlySpeed)
Teleportation: Combat Teleportation. Toggle, (Minor +Def) Appears to be a series of short teleports around the battlefield, but mechanically it's a +Run/+Jump buff with a much flashier graphic.
Or..
Teleportation: Team Recall, similar to certain temp powers, you teleport the whole team to your location in one move.
Or...
Teleportation: Warp Gate. Cast the Teleport animation, choose from a flipdown list and teleport to any zone from where you stand. -
Quote:I don't understand how people can claim not to be able to afford IO's, which fall FOR FREE from fallen foes, and yet can afford to replace stacks of deteriorating SO's every few levels. As for the IO arguement; Not everyone in game uses IOs. Some can't afford them, some aren't that bothered by them. As it is now, anyone with IO slotting will have some advantage over others. Not game breaking, maybe, but it will be an advantage. I always feel something twitch when people roll out IO slotting as a counter arguement for things, simply because the game is not, and should not, be balanced (solely) around highly IO'd builds.
*Sure, SO's also fall as drops, but not at the rates that they use to. (Use to be far fewer missions between "Enhancements Full" message.)
*And yes, some IO's are high demand/low supply, but you can build off of generics and lower-demand sets, or franken-slot.
*If IO's are so darn expensive to purchase, then they are equally profitable to sell when they drop.
Everything you do in this game makes you $Inf.
Anyway, back to Blast/Armor AT theory.
I've been intrigued by the Rikti AT as an idea.
Particularly the Headsman Gunner LTs.
Mostly ranged, but with a melee attack. Some light armor, a pet and manueverability (teleportation) in combat.
The trick is to balance the ranged damage numbers vs. the defensive values.
I'd suggest a self-debuff of some sort.
Have a gun-blade like the Rikti, with the melee attack being Lethal and the ranged damage being medium-level Energy. Have some defensive toggles, as well.
Have a (Click or toggle) Buff like Aim, but with a twist: It boosts Energy Damage, but at the same time DeBuffs your DamRes. Rationale: Diverting power from shields to boost energy supply to weapons systems. -

For the alarm function and for real local time, you can just get a cheap (under 5$) digital alarm clock and place it right beside your monitor. Heck, you can find some that are powered by watch batteries and stick to the edge of the monitor.

But server time, for monitoring the day/night cycle? Sure. Why not.
Note: here is the day/night cycle.

Quote:Yes, the enhancement values of IO sets are impacted by ED, but the set bonuses are applied after ED has been calculated. So if you are stuck at +96% damage in that power's enhancements, but have +5% damage in set bonuses (from sets in other powers usually), then that power will strike at +101%.First, IO sets are impacted by ED just as normal SOs. To believe toons with IO set builds are "far superior" is simply not true. This all depends on power selection and slotting. What makes one toon "superior" to another is player skill, not IO sets. Personally, I've teamed with plenty of people who have not a single IO set in their build that do just as well as those with them.
"far superior"? Well, IO's will give better performance than SO's, but I will not use such subjective terms as that. For your standard attack power's SO slotting of 1 Acc/3Dam/1 Rech/1EndRed, you can do that with a set of L30-ish IO's (from any set without a Proc), get about the same enhancement values and never have to worry about them rotting as you level up. (and get a few minor set bonuses)
Or you can slot the upper L40's version of the same IO set and get let's say 96%ish damage, and 60%+ on each of Acc/Rech/EndRed. Better than what you could get on SO's.
As for your final point of Player Skill being the most important factor?
Yes, I would agree. I never gauge my team-mates by the bonuses listed beneath thier power selections. -
I would not use this option.
Your mission is "Somewhere in Perez Park" or "Somewhere in Indy Port"? No thanks. -
