I went Fire/Kin, Solo-only. Had a lot of fun as it played fast and hard, AoE'ing minions. Didn't like EBs and other hard targets though.
Only quibbles?
Was disappointed in Inertial Reduction over CJ/SJ, though. Ended up respeccing out of IR for CJ's protection for Immob. It's a real shame when a pool power (or more specificly a pair of them) is better than a main powerset power.
Even though I was solo, I still took a one-slotted Speed Boost to buff whatever pets I occasionally picked up in missions or whatever. -
Quote:That's fine. I can see thier intent, I simply wish for them to change thier mind on the threshold number. For it to be around 100, rather than 30 or 2500.We went from being able to store 2500 items in each bin to 30, so it's blatantly obvious that they are limiting what we can keep in bases.
2500 would mean that I would only need one salvage bin, as it just seems silly to stash more than that. It's not like you can't just run a AE mission or two and get exactly what Uncommon and Rare salvage you need for a recipe, and take a few "Random Common" rolls until you get what you need.
As for storing recipes, I've been kind of "meh" on this. I mean you can craft any recipe you want into an anhancement and store that, with three exceptions: Costume Piece Recipes, Temp Power Recipes and Respec Recipes. And two out of that three are Vendor Trash! -
Quote:That character isn't a Mastermind, I hope.I could see two enemies and a character fitting inside. Too bad there aren't multiple cars.
But, seriously though.
Let's say that Paragon City had an actual railyard, as opposed to the monorail system. An Amtrak-style train with multiple cars could be a mission map. -
Quote:Headsman Gunner: Ranged Attacks plus light armor, a form of Combat Teleportation and a Rikti Monkey pet?I love the rikti look but really can't see me being interested in a rikti EAT, I mean most of their powers are kind of boring
I could go for that.
The Chief Solder would have to be spiced up a bit not to just be a Broadsword Scrapper with a different costume.
Communications Officer (Rikti MM, pets: T1: Monkeys, T2: Conscripts, T3: Chief Soldier?) -

If the train was done as a door mission and you fought inside the train, it would be easier to implement, as you could do it like a cargo ship map.
The only problem is that the "bigger on the inside than on the outside" aspect would be even more blatant. -

Quote:Don't a lot of dictators get thier start by getting elected (or appointed ) fairly, then later getting rid of any fair election? You can't "appoint" a dictator. He either regularly submits to free and fair elections (quite impossible given Enriche) or he gives up his right to call his rule legitimate. Personally, from the missions, it's not like Cole even cares if his rule is legitimate.
Seems like I've heard that one before. -
Quote:Sounds cool. Would we get a moving marker on our map or just have to look for the one car that's marked somehow? (I'm thinking that having a targeting box around it and being followed by the police would be a big marker, particularly if the cops chasing/escorting it were running thier lights and sirens.)I thought that having a chase in either the Rogue Isles or Paragon would be cool. It could work like a zone event, where say in Steel Canyon, some Outcasts have stolen a car, and you have to stop the car, by doing some damage to it. Then the Outcasts jump out and fight you. In the Rogue Isles it could be an armored car, that you are robbing.
What do you folks think? -

Can't hurt to just type /respec and see if you already got one. You may have only registered on the boards in the last couple weeks, but how long have you been playing? If it's 9 months, then you can click on your veteran's badge for that month to grab one.

Quote:Nah, I'm hoping for something less "sleek" and high-tech than Japanese Mecha. I want something spiky and wicked, bristling with guns and unnecesary spikes and maybe a chainsaw blade. It should look like it gets poor gas milage and leaks oil.Wait, so, if I had a bots MM and combined them, would that be like Voltron/Power Rangers?
Maybe something like this:

Quote:My opinion: Peter knows. He's willing to go along with it and see where it leads. She's offering "physical companionship" that the real Olivia didn't. While Fauxlivia may think that this will keep him distracted, he should realise that this is an attempt at distraction and thus keep his eyes open. He's been portrayed as super-observant and a world-wise conman, so the game she is trying to play is the game that he knows how to play better than her. He was foolish, IMO, to have basicly blurted out "Yeah, I know you ain't the real thing" in so many words. Are Walter and Peter beginning to suspect the Olivia isn't "their" Olivia?
I think that he has some hope of rescuing the real Olivia eventually, and is playing the Boyfriend role to get closer to learning her secrets. She can't just turn her face away from the other members of the team and talk to her fellow infiltrators over the phone without someone noticing eventually. She has a different 'look' when she's not trying to play nice girl and no one can fake for long.
Walter? I doubt that he knows.
Edit: Also, I think that Peter's loyalty is split. He knows that this isn't his home, but he has love for the real Olivia and some issues with Walter. And some issues about being the key to a universe-destroying mega-weapon, like not being sure if it will kill him in the process of destroying our universe or just spit him back into his home safely. (Fire shooting from your eyes is a pretty harsh side-effect, so I'm guessing that it isn't good for the user.) -
Looks like Dr. Orpheus will get some screen time. I like him.

I made that statement to indicate that *I* was tempted to throw out some compare/contrast to indicate my choices, but would refrain from doing so, and why. That particular statement wasn't intended to refer to your posts.

Quote:Well, I guess I just see it differently. He "lol"ed at your post, not at you.I dont overreact.
I just said people should be less negative about a game they even didnt tried just because is going to be another superhero mmo.
Then he lol at my post. Well, I dont understand but they are always the same guys with that superiority complex that lol at some people in the forums.
And they are always the guys with thousand posts and arrogant attitude.
Post count is nothing, post quality is what matters. Irrelevant stat is irrelevant. -
Anyway:
DCUO? Yeah, haven't looked at it. I'd be hesitant to switch MMOs when I've built up so many here.
CO? Has a bitter smell to it from that stunt when they tried to poach players from here. And from Jack's involvement with the game.
I could go on, but "Compare and Contrast" threads are against the rules, as our mods have already made quite plain.
But you are going to get a biased sample here. This is a board made up only of CoH players. They are here because they enjoy the game and may or may not enjoy others. Going to a CO board will get you a sample of gamers of enjoy CO and might/might not enjoy CoH.
Going to a DCUO board....is that game even out yet?
You get my point though, I'm sure. -
Quote:Let's drop the "High Post Count people are always looking down on low post count people and picking on them, etc." thing, please. (While that's not exactly what you said, you ARE the one to bring post count and start dates into this. No one else cares.) It's a completely irrelevant stat, a function only of how frequently one discusses the game. You cant expect nothing better from me, when you lol at everything I post in the forums.
I give people same credit I get from them.
I always try to express my opinion in a respectful tone and then "The guys with thousands post who are in CoX since day 1" come and lol at me or other players.
Everyone got a opinion, having more post dont give you the right to think people are always wrong. And thats what guys like you do.
Even start dates, the other stat YOU AND YOU ONLY bring up are not worth much, if you consider that they may reflect accounts that started early but lapsed for quite a while, and thus do not gaurantee long lengths of gaming.
But seriously, you overreacted a bit from Zombie Man's comments.
Calm down. -

Quote:Bingo. I think that some version of that might be just the ticket.I wonder if Kheldians would be more desirable if they gave the team buffs the same way they revieve them from having team members (Their inherent)
I don't like the idea of a team XP bonus for teaming with them and much prefer contributing to the fights over contributing to the rewards. I hear people talking about how awesome having multiple VEATs on a team is, so adding a few Khelds on a team should provide a similar level of excitement.
What keeps Khelds low on the priority list for teaming invites?
Team Leaders who don't know what they can do to contribute?
TLs who think the team will have to drop everything whenever a Quantum/Void shows up?
TLs who think that they'll get killer Cyst spawns added that will cause team-wipes?
I don't know. -

NPCs:
-From now on, all NPCs hair will be animated. To countermand the increased gfx requirements, however, only NPCs will be getting them. Also, we are removing the animation from capes to bring memory use back within acceptable levels.

Quote:Swarms annoyed me, as both of the characters that I remember most fighting them were a BS/Regen (I-4) and a mid-level BS/WP (last month). Tedious from the Resist that the Rock-based critters had, and thankfully lacking the -Rech that the Regen had faced.Eh. Swarms were never a concern. DE aren't really a problem, as long as the team goes after the Quartzes and Cairns. Christ does that irritate me when teammates ignore the Emitter drops.

I remember being in Crey's Folly on the Regen and seeing his attack buttons turning into teeny tiny little dots.No ranged attacks in that set and no Vet powers or temp powers at the time as they sting once and fly Waaaaaay away.
