Would this idea (Of AT specific arcs) be more valid if it were in the teen or early twenties levels? It wouldn't be a "training fresh out of the gate", but more of a "tune-up based on where you should be, skill-wise".

Defenders do play quite differently based on which Primary they are, IME.
  2. I fully agree.
My newest character that I roll up tomorrow or the next day may not have been around during the last Anniversary, neither is that character a 6 Year veteran.
But they have the Vet badges because I, as a player, had an active account for that long.
I would certainly like it if my Anniversary badges were account-wide just like the Vet badges, since I definately logged in during every Anniversary, maintaining an active account at the time.

But you aren't asking for as much as I am. Just an option to earn these badges again.
I distinctly remember being able to purchase some badges (Longbow Reservist, Scrooge, etc.) for Candy Cane Salvage during the Winter Event, but a quick breeze through the Paragonwiki (Link in my sig) doesn't mention the Anniversary badges listed as those you can buy. (My memory is playing tricks on me or....?)

There's also the Payoff badge available for purchase for AE tickets, but is the only badge you can purchase this way. I mention this because either of these two options could be a reasonable route to getting these long ago badges
  3. I like those ideas.

I also like the idea of being able to toggle "hide/show incomplete badges".
  4. We have Swift and Hurdle, representing high levels of athletic training.
Or we (some of us, but not I) have Ninja Run.

I'm looking at an alternative to Superspeed, but with a skateboarding-like graphic, like that one Prestige Sprint (Slide, was it?). Until something like that comes along, though, you might be stuck with one of the above options.

Or, you could have a MOSTLY natural (for the bulk of his powers) hero who just happens to have a gadget or amulet of whatever for his travel power. Manticore, I believe, is a Natural hero, but tapped (hacked?) into the medical transport grid so he could Teleport. (As an example.)
Edit: I saw that line in your post "no devices or unusual powers...", but heck, I thought it had to be mentioned, since it's one of the options folks sometimes use for thier natural heroes. Even Batman who trains a whole lot (putting him towards Natural) uses a lot of gadgets (edging towards Tech).

    Super respec

I'm glad to see you posting in a more calm and reasonable fashion.
Tomorrow, (if I remember) I'll throw together an idea I had a while ago that might appease both sides, even though it isn't exactly what you have in mind. I look forward to a pleasant discussion.

    Cheers!
  6. I make the theme and the powersets work together. While every character I have has a theme and a backstory, I've very rarely had to skip powers or gimp a build to make it work.

The worst one I've done was my SS/WP brute taking Whirlwind (for something to do while Rage crashes) and Mako's pool for the single-target ranged attack and the cone attack. While it's great to have two AoE's in Footstomp and Bile Spray, I admit that I do like for "Terrible Two", my SuperDyne-addled toddler to spin around and vomit.
But I don't use Whirlwind very often, and the build is otherwise quite effective, so there was plenty of room for a silly power or two.
  7. Amusing.
    Nice Screenie.

Behold! Character Achievement Transference! Instead of having that deleted character become a waste of time, it is made so that every time a character is deleted, all of their experience, rare recipes and other scarce goodies are all salvaged into a sort of "treasure box", so to speak.

These are basically little virtual boxes of stuff that a deleted character has left behind. They cannot be copied or applied to an already made character. You can, however, make one (And ONLY one) new character with all of these things applied to it.

You can't take certain things out of the 'box' and give it to other characters, like, say give Deleted-Man's XP to Captain Newb and his influence to Lowbie Man. The 'benefactor' character gets the whole pack of stuff.
You can already move all of the old character's monetary "stuff" to a new one.
    1) Use that character's vetspecs (if you have any) to remove all enhancements.
    2) Sell those or gift them via SG bins.
    3) Move the wealth via ingame transfer (wait until I-17 or use the Market)

Now, the XP is non-transferable, and I can agree with that stance.

But the Badges? Good Lord, I would pay a reasonable sum for any future booster pack that included that (and a few other goodies) as a perk.
Or for Anniversary badges at the very least to become account-wide. Sure, a Willpower or Dual Blades or Dual Pistols character wasn't around for the 1st anniversary, but neither have they been around for 60+ months to be Veterans either. But you as a player with an active account have.

So yeah, the wealth transfer portion of your request is already done. The rest? Unlikely.

    I need help!!!!

I voted for Ghastly Specter, but would have spelled it "Spectre", even though Spell-check doesn't like it.

This means that the PVP forums/community is more than twice as large and twice as active as the Mission Architect & Badges community COMBINED.
Rather than counting posts, perhaps counting Posters would have been a more accurate measure.

If I use only my own perceptions, it looks like PvPer's are a much smaller group than the other two, although they are quite vocal. Unfortunately, some of the discussions that could be of benefit to PvP in this game (and thus to PvPers) are derailed early on, by vitriol coming from both sides. Either the PvE'ers throw out a "PvP'ers are jerks!" or the PvP'ers throw out "If you don't PvP, then you have no idea! Get out of the thread!". It doesn't matter who starts it, it just derails any possibility of getting anything done.

He actually posted his budget and listed his monthly porn and gambling expenses.
Disabled? He had at least one hand that worked.

It's been brought up before, and I still like the idea.

Sometimes, you're happy with the power picks and just want to move slots or enhancements around.

Copypasta is best served with breadsticks and a good red wine. Or white, depending on the sauce.
  15. It always seemed odd to board a train, yet arrive via a glowing red square column. Compound that by the fact that you can accidentally fling yourself off the map by touching it at any hieght.

I wonder if we can have two instanced maps that are identical other than thier exit points? Like an "Almost-KR Map1" with glowing red column used for Portal Corps missions and an "Almost KR Map2" with a tram exit used for Train missions.
The list of instanced maps would almost double, depending on how many of those maps are currently used for both things, but the Dev team wouldn't be creating whole new maps, just making tweaked copies and then tying them to missions.

All I am concerned about is the primary and secondary power sets.

I would like to request to allow 1, and only 1, full power respec per pre-order of Going Rogue ( I would really like it for every character, but not trying to be too picky). Some of use have concepts that will be better fufilled with what we were planing with the new power sets.

So who is with me on this?
Are you willing to first burn Vetspecs so that when you finally do you Ultimate Respec you will only have 10 or less unusable enhancements?
If so, then good for you. If not....your problem, not mine.

As for the freshly minted X/X character that used to be a Y/Y character being played by someone who may or may not have any experience or skill with that powerset: I'll just solo at that point to avoid them.
  17. Badges>>MA>>................................>PvP.

While I'm not a big Badge-hunter, every character I make goes the extra mile to earn a few extra badges.
A few characters visit the MA (usually when I feel the need for a specific Rare Salvage and don't like the prices.) and since I've written three arcs I can't write any more without paying RL cash.
But PvP? The only thing my AoE-heavy builds are going to do there is possibly drop loot that will make the few PvP'ers there more able to whoop my behind harder. What's the point? I'll swing in there, quickly (and silently) grab a PvE reward and leave ASAP.
  18. I agree with having the unlocks global.

Granted, my Crab will still never get a Tommy Gun because for some reason a VEAT, even a Destined One can't loot.
  19. The most useful parts of my base are laid out like the letter "C" around the outer wall of the plot.

Medbay (with a Inspire storage)->Teleporters->Entrance Room->Workshop (Enhancement bins, crafting table located right beneath vault on wall so you don't even have to move).
The heart of the "C" leads to a salvage storage bin room.

Power and Control rooms are in an out of the way spot. Kind of a shame because I like the looks of the Arcane Control setup I have, but the intent was for people either to Rez and get right back to battle, or for them to enter, do thier crafting and such then get back to missions.

    New Power Set

I think that it is unfortunate that in RL, Politeness is too rare of a powerset.
    We need more of it.

And there's few schools in the suburbs zones that we don't have missions in, so we don't take the train there.

Question: If villains in Paragon City can't go near the trains or the Sewer entrances, how do they get from the Zig to the other zones?

    New Crafting !!!

I knew someone would smell blood in the water.

Or post something like "Rule 1 of the Internet: Grow some skin".

((Okay, I was skimming the forums and saw the last poster in this thread was Sharker_Quint. Knowing his posts and how the OP went, I could safely assume. You performed as expected. ))
  23. Oh, I know what this game is rated at. But I keep my own chatter rated at "Mild".

I'm not easily offended, but with the possibility of underage kids on the other side, I'd rather not be labelled with those folks who have to notify the sheriff every time they move.
