I gotta admit, the first thing that came to mind was the zone Buff/ DeBuffs from the PvP zone missions.
-
Had a mission in Boomtown. 4yo Son wants "The Big Guy to take the train" (But the tram doesn't go there.) So I head to the tunnel to talk to the policemen, then take the tunnel to Boomtown. On my way to the mission he sees the wrecked cars and wants to "Fix the Broken ones". So I use the new Jackhammer and Picklock emotes on my way to the mission to go "Beat up the bad guys and put them in jail".
I'm starting to think that he thinks cops use Broadswords, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. -
Having "Competitive" as the option in-between Co-operative Teaming and Direct PvP? Absolutely.
The idea has a lot of possibilities and since there is not DIRECT PvP, it could be implemented without having to fiddle around with the PvP rules and possibly doing more damage. -
Alpha Team, Omega Team, Shmega Team.
In character most of my characters, both Hero and Villain would enter the fray.
A couple of the villains would weigh their options first, then decide that fighting the Rikti was necessary for their goals, but none of them would back down from a fight.
Well, on second thought:
Cinae Exodus (Fire/Kin-Ruptor) would fight the Rikti, buy stay on Earth. Her goal is to return to the Past once she has gained power enough to stop Zoria from starting the Circle of Thorns.
Lt. Ferber (Bots/FF MM) would fight the Rikti, but stay on Earth, as he wants to return to the Future, and he can't do that if he is in another universe, and Rikti have destroyed the Earth, thus making human colonization of Mars in the 2500's impossible.
Kobold Kommando (Nin/Nin Stalker) would be the one character who would not stand up to the Rikti. Kobolds aren't known for "Bold", they're known for "Sneaky". Also, see: Filthy, Cowardly and Back-Stabbing. -
Quote:Welcome to the Suggestions and Ideas section of the forums. Had you asked this in the Player Questions section located above, you would have recieved the answer : No one knows until the Developers announce it, so keep an eye on the Announcements section.when do we get an issue or expansion that is all about going to the Rikti home-world to rescue our lost Heroes ? Please, the story absolutely screams for this .
If you have an idea for how an excursion into this new zone should be implemented, this is the section for it.
So tell us, what do you suggest? -
Quote:Only as long as that pop-up says "This Email has an attached item!" as part of the text. Otherwise, it will be ignored, and then the pop-up is worthless.Let me get this part over with - yes, I had an "oopsie" with a high value item. Call me noob, whatever. Moving on...
My suggestion is, when someone deletes an e-mail with an attachment, they see a "are you sure you want to delete?" pop-up box that requires them to select yes or no. This type of box pops up in many other cases in the game. Please do so for deleting e-mails with attachments too.
I'm curious as to whether RMT'ers will start paying us to read thier crap. *smirk* -
I can do that!
Method 1:
User CP->Edit Ignore List->Typo a name in the "Add a name to your list" section.
Method 2:
Click on the little icon "report to moderator" button below thier name. Note: only works on weekdays, and on truly worthless posts. Does not work if post is protected by a winkie.
Method 3:
Go to a different thread or yank computer cable from wall. -
I just posted a post that quoted your post.
Then I selected "Edit" to edit my post. Below the text box was the option to delete my post.
I deleted it, then posted this post instead.
Edit: I just checked on a thread that I started yesterday. I could still edit my post, but could not delete the first post in the thread. Possibly because the thread is "anchored" by the first post?
You can edit the living tar out of the first post if you feel that you handled things poorly, but if you were quoted, then all you can do is retract your incorrect or inappropriate staments and continue the conversation in a more positive manner. -
Edit: Pointed out a typo that has since been fixed.

Quote:Agreed.Superhero/Villain costuming is not about boring real-life practicality.
If you're going to be doing the Archvillian thing, you aren't going to be traveling around in your Stepdad's Nissan Stanza, you're gonna have to get a sweet ride like a Hover-Tank or a giant floating cocoon.
And if your costume has stuff that sticks out, it's not a problem that way.
(Or you could have it retractible and spring-loaded.) -
Quote:Holy moley! Think of how many tabs that would be.However, they did it once already...
Granted, they said it was a huge PITA to do, but it's been done before.
The OP's "have a sublist" seems more along the lines of adding another set of tabs to the Exploration Badges tab, where it's "All, Atlas Park, Galaxy City, blah blah blah". -
Quote:What do you have so far?Wouldn't you know it? As soon as I got home this morning I was struck with inspiration, but I'm fuzzy on background and don't have a good name yet. I'm also waffling between Tanker and Scrapper. But it's better than where I was.
I'd love to try to fill in the blanks, even if my ideas only serve to drive you to your own ideas to get away from my awful (but well-intentioned!) ones. -
Quote:Yeah, but it's not like the Black Market had squat for supply anyway.Seeing how BM and globals are both down at the moment, I can commiserate with Severe.
Okay, snarky comment aside, having both the Market and our Globals down are nuisances. I'm biased, since I use both of these features.
In the mean time, I'm rotating alts as thier inventory of "Stuff I don't want to vendor for peanuts" gets filled. This is a good way to ensure that they all get thier Anniversary badges this time, and hey, it was time to move them for Day Jobs anyway. I recommend this.
Also: It's not like Global Channels haven't proven to be a fragile thing anyway, having broken multiple times in the past, often during Issue release, IIRC.
I can see why Severe is unhappy, I just feel that he is taking it to a higher level than needed and is expressing it in a way that is not the most effective towards getting solutions. I wish him (and all of us) luck in getting these two popular features back into operation. -
Quote:Absolutely. It would look a lot cooler. You know... To be honest, I'd actually prefer it if we could walk INTO the beam before we beam up. It'd look a LOT better than standing around next to it and getting beamed out of nowhere.
Retain the visual of the beam, but allow us to walk through it. Place the "click here" spot to the floor. -
I'm one of those folks who is NOT a fan of double XP weekends, but I guess I'm in the minority over that. Doubling the rate at which new enhancement slots are generated without doubling the drop rate of recipes or enhancements to fill those slots? Even with doubling the Inf dropped directly by kills you still cause a jump in prices.
I'd rather see a double Drop-rate weekend. Once the Markets are fixed, let's flood them with products, to test the fix!
Heck, my April Fool's prank would be a Double Damage Weekend. Double all damage, both by PCs and NPCs. Remove the Anti-Oneshotting rule and the "Always 1hp or more after falling damage" rule.
Tanks would play like Scrappers, Scrappers would play like Blappers, Blappers would almost explode upon login. Servers might be able to handle it, but the hospitals would be strained.
Anyway, now Globals are down. Between Globals and the Market, I'm inconvienienced, but I played before either were around, and so I remind myself that both are optional and both can be worked around. And it's not like globals haven't proven to be fragile anyway, having broken multiple times in the past. -

Quote:Log onto character Superguy.Like I said, I have never used global email before. You mentioned "in box" where do I find this so called in box?
Looking at the screenie in this thread, it's on the chatbox, labelled "Email" next to the words Team, Friends, Super...<right there>....Tab, 1, 2.
Click on "EMAIL" and a box pops up, just like in the screenie, except the person in the screenie has no recieved Emails, so it's empty. See where it says "From" on the box in the screenshot? That word indicates that it is the inbox. But it's currently empty...on the character in the screenshot.
Since that character either has never recieved any emails or has deleted them. -
Quote:I see. Thank you.Hang on - I'll try and find it - it was a Tweet from Hero Con, I think.
EDIT: I can't find the Tweet, but there's a post with a list of some Hero Con Tweets here, and zone events being expanded is mentioned:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=373
I shall reserve my rant about "the Devs using Twitter instead of posting on the forums", etc., since ranting isn't an appropriate use of these boards. -
Quote:Hello,
I really-really wanted to know if Virtue was the server with the most amount of homosexuals? Please don't get upset with me for asking but the reason why I'm asking is mostly because I'd like to join a group/team where I'll be sure to be accepted.
Thank you very muchQuote:Hi and welcome! While I may be straight, I'm also a channel operator on the Pride global channel which allows me some insight to answer your question. Short version is Victory and Virtue are agreed to have nearly equal amounts of Pride members.
So how do you join Pride you ask? Just type /chanjoin Pride while ingame. We'd love to see you there!
But really? Either server is fine. -

Quote:Super-Heroes working in relation to or alongside normal folks with "heroic" normal jobs like Fireman, Police, Construction just seems cool to me.I guess heroes can have the inverse mission of chasing out villains from a bunch of locations in a Boomtown style area, making room for construction workers and, by the time they leave, leaving behind a fully built-up city zone. Be a pretty heroic and satisfying thing to do.
That idea sounds good for an entirely new mission type.
Instead of the Steel Canyon fires being the way they are, having us have to protect Firemen from Hellions would have been interesting too. But they chose a route where we directly fight the fires and defeat the Hellions ourselves. -
-
I'm sure that a staged walkthrough would be possible.
Would be maybe ten minutes with most of the employees getting an opportunity to say "Hi Guys!" at the camera. They would get a warning beforehand to not have anything revealing future projects tacked up while the camera walks around.
And if one of them says anything witty (or even remotely so) it becomes a permanent forum meme. -
Quote:You see, I'm not asking or even considering, that a L5-10 villain is going to topple the AP statue. That would be, for lack of a better term, silly.I don't think it makes sense for us to topple the Atlas statue five times a day. Pay phones, bus stops, parking metres, those are all things few people notice when they run about in the streets. I honestly can't tell you if I've ever seen all the crates in Mayhem missions in the "real" locations at all. They just don't register for me. Crates and such may as well not be there, but landmark buildings really aren't something I'd feel should be broken repeatedly.
Since Mayhem missions are already slated to be about robbing a bank set in an iconic location, I don't think they're the right fit for this. I'd more look at some kind of "demolition" mission that sends you into one of those "jumbled" outdoor maps that looks like it's in Paragon City, but isn't part of any place you can visit. It's "in the city," just not where anyone can see it, which means we can destroy it to our hearts' content.
Now, damaging a small building in that warehouse section of AP near where your SG porter drops you and the Hellions hang out? Maybe.
A villain of higher level in destroying one of those buildings near the Indy Port docks or in Brickstown destroying a warehouse or something like that? Sure. -
