Then get your butt back to math class, because even us non-college-havin', name-on-our-coveralls, pipe-wrench-swingin' goons need to know stuff like that!

Math is useful all the time.

    1) You're playing an MMO and are at the Auction House. You will have a 5% listing fee on each of your three items. One is an ultra-rare item that you want to post high, the other two are common vendor-trash. You have 5,000 units of that game's currency. How much can you list each for?

    2) You're at work. You need to circulate a tank through a line that is not normally used for that product. After you finish circulating the tank, you will need to flush that line by running a different product through it. Otherwise, you will get chunks of stuff through a pump that can't handle it. The line is 40 feet long and 6 inches in diameter. The tanks are 40ft tall and holds 10,000 barrels. How many inches of product movement in the tank will signify that the line is flushed through, assuming that a good flush is triple the volumne of the line?

    3) You've been fishing all day and are hanging around with your drunk buddies. One of them caught a 14 inch Trout. How big of a fish can you claim to have caught without looking like an obvious liar?

  4. All that vertical real estate could be used for a lot of advertising revenue. You wouldn't have to be Crey to afford a billboard on those walls.

Random thought: looking around ALL of Paragon City and it's War Walls...that's a LOT of concrete. How many thousands of tons, and how many workers it must have took.
  5. Typically, with an invasion, we face Rikti, or the Undead, with maybe a dozen or so different critters in thier faction. In order to do what you want, it would be Faction "AE Creations" with hopefully a lot more variance, wouldn't it?

During the AE Overload (or whatever you want to call it), how many different critters would you like to see in that faction? (Of Boss/LT and Minion status, of course.)

Nothing I've seen in this thread (so far) is budging me an inch from that belief.

  7. Movie: "Hell comes to Frogtown", starring Roddy Piper.
  8. *shrug*

    I dunno.

Some of the Custom Mobs in the AE are pretty cool, with thier powersets/names/descriptions/costumes. Some of them are, well.....stupid.
I don't want to face "lolkillu" and "fartguy" that look like they stepped out of the random button of the costume creator, have descriptions of "blah wut" and have poor risk/reward values.
  9. Gremlins, Coralax and Mooks also.

There aren't a lot of redside-only factions, and a couple of these (Snakes, Gremlins and Luddites) don't make much sense (to me, at least) be packing those fancy, high-tech Anti-Kheld rifles.

Let's get this thread back on track or at least onto one that isn't so argumentative.

So which factions would need Quantum versions added? Snakes? Luddites? Goldbrickers? Scrapyarders?
  12. It varies by character, but the ones that stood out:
    "Smoky" for BBQ Pork.
"Poor Impulse Control" for Terrible Two.

Or perhaps even just add a Timer Slider at the Fateweaver/etc in addition to and independant of the existing settings.
"I think I'm faster then the average Hero/Villain" "I'm think I'm MUCH faster than the average Hero/Villain" "I think I'm slower than the average Hero/Villain", etc.

Reward adjustment? Succeed on a shorter-than-normal timer, get a higher bonus at the end. Succeed on a longer-than-normal timer, get a smaller bonus.
    No effect on non-timed missions.

So in middle school I bought all the Thor comics I could.

Villains, though? I liked the Wrecker. And a mention to Codpiece.
While not a Supervillain in his own right, current favorite character in the genre is Henchman 21.

    Twixt?
I doubt it, but anything is possible. I'll go with "Probably not".

While the OP is wrong about some of his assumptions, hostile towards disagreement and started more threads than I think he needed to (I mean, Five? Really? The topic could have been handled better, and got a more favorable response) , let's not head towards personal insults. I know I'd not want to be compared to Twixt, someone who intentionally and maliciously intended to ruin other's fun.

While the OP is wrong about a number of things, he apparently started this thread to gain information, when another poster like myself challenged his assumption that many or most characters/players would benefit from two freespecs per character to use on thier dual builds.

So far, the responses have been pretty uniform. "Of my many characters, almost none."

    Veteran Rewards

Not quite, but close to it.

I find them useful in the low levels on all characters. When all of your attacks are slotted with TO's or DOs at best, having something that acts like it's slotted with 0 ACC/3 Damage / 0 Recharge / 0 EndRed is still better than nothing, and the "Beginner's Luck" ToHit buff helps out a bit with the Acc.

Like another poster, I find them useful on a SS character (Brute).
I also like Force Bolt (5 slotted, including a Damage Proc) and the Nemmie Staff on my Bots/FF for even more KB fun. Granted, the high end cost of the staff adds up over time, but that's when I'm spamming it, instead of tending to my Bots. So it's my own fault.

If you find no use for these attacks, then I hope you enjoy your other vet rewards, such as the free Vet-specs.

Making rough guesses at what "-ish" and "handful" mean, I come up with 72/1317. Less than 5.5% of characters. Among "Toons", the figure is higher.

Since some people only mentioned thier L50's, figures may be lower.
Among non-forumites, i.e., most of the playerbase, figures are likely lower.

    That's 11 of 123 so far or 8.9%.

Being only four players (the OP, Jetpack and wife, BBQ_Pork) that isn't a lot, but we'll see. I'll estimate that more forumites are less casual players than average and slightly more likely to use secondary builds, but I've no hard fact to back that up.

Of 35 Characters, I have Two that use thier second build (Widow and a Defender). Had two others, but they scrapped thier second builds completely and permanently, stripping out all enhancements.

Edit: With the first three posts, we're at 11 of 88 or 12.5%. We'll have to see how this goes with more data to follow.
  21. On Ventrilo:
    Player1: "Guys.....wait.....gotta Rest"
Player2: "Need a Blue? I got like 6 of them."
    Player1: "No.....*cough*.....*wheeze*.....wait."
Player3: "Is this an RP thing?"

    I think that:
    1) It would be nice to have. Who can turn down free stuff?
    2) Few characters use thier second build. Of these, how many will be of powersets affected by changes in each issue?
    3) By not giving us a freespec for each, there is incentive to use a freespec on one build and then either run a respec trial (incentive to team) or buy a Respec Recipe at the Market (Inf-sink).

I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for it to happen, since I generally do fine without it.

*chuckle* This is why I always bid ....008.

Maybe the Market thought you were trying to fudge it's fee and wanted that extra 1 Inf. Try posting at "50,050" and see what it does.
  24. And for those 10 or 20 people haqppy with the changes, there will be several who will be unhappy with the changes. We will get to read thier complaints here.

Seemed liked a "Damned if you do, Damned if you don't" situation for the Devs, and it's easier/cheaper to Don't.
