Quote:Would Atlas Park spawn another instance of itself, like Eden or the Rikti War Zone? If so, would EE send representatives into those other instances? It'll be great to see you there!
Be sure to get there a little early!
Atlas is going to be PACKED, by getting in early you won't be locked out.

I realize that that would be a logistics nightware to coordinate events across instances.
-ponders evilly- We should do try do launch a massive-multiple-instance-Rikti-Raid one of these days with members of each others' supergroups. I'd be up for that! hehe. -
When my Supergroup grows up, it wants to be just like yours...hehe.
----
Seriously though, congratulations!
It can be tough to maintain a large group of active members, especially when its so easy for anyone to start their own group. Keep up the good work. And (as you always do), keep promoting the fun and activity of this game.
Looking forward to teaming with you again. -
Farewell and hope to see you when you return.

I like the idea of the global vault.
And it would be nice to have larger storage racks in the base (maybe a supergroup accolade for selling a lot at Wentworth collectively), but I would be just as content with having the ability to place more racks in one room.
I feel that a lot of restrictions like limited emailing of items and limited storage are put into place to encourage occassional maintenance of your storage inventory. I think it also encourages people to try to get the Invention Salvage related badges and the Rikti merits (for the salvage belt) to increase salvage slots and the Wentworth badges to increase transaction slots. In actuality, it probably just put in place to prevent clutter of the email system in general. -
Congratulations.
I love the theme song by the way. It is one of my favorite James Bond themes along with "For Your Eyes Only".
Bond Trivia - Which singer has performed the most themes songs to date?
Answer - Shirley Bassey has performed recorded the themes to Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, and Moonraker. =D -
It appears that another accident has already happened...

Farewell, Obscura.
We will look forward to your return. -
I would like to say that I think the developers did something right with the release of I19, from a "let's get the users back on and playing" standpoint.
The servers are constantly full of activity nowadays, which I love. Problem now is trying to pull together a team while other groups are doing the same thing for different task/strike forces. It is a little harder to get lower level content groups started though, but I'm sure it is being done.
I'm also seeing supergroups bringing back raids that they haven't run in a while, supergroups who have recently started running raids continuing to do so, and supergroups trying their hand in the running the raids for the first time. This is promising. I hope that groups continue this even after the glow of I19 has diminished and we move on to the next shiny toys.
More importantly though, I've seen a lot of veterans *queue the angelic chorus* bringing out previously retired or semi-retired characters, because of the respecs or because of Alpha slotting. This gives me the opportunity to team with characters and/or players I probably would never have had the opportunity to team with before.

Hilarious!
Scary though, how much it reminds me of college dorms.
*shivers* -
Happy Birthday.
=(
It's not my birthday today...but I get two birthdays a year...which makes me...well...really old. *cries* -
Hello,
My main character is Azure Lightstar.
But I also play the following on Guardian:
Mudflow, Airmid, and Cadmium Redd.
I was introduced to the game by some great friends, most of which I still team with. My friends and I love trying out every aspect of the game, most recently getting involved in running large events like the Rikti Raid and the CoP Trial. I also like running the Imperious Taskforce.
Let's see, I like to roleplay my character when possible, but usually never to the point of interfering with another's gameplay. I especially love a good story with strong characters. But most of all, I just want the game to feel like it's a comic book, and I want to feel like a hero or villain when I'm playing.
But what really shaped the player that I am (and want to be) is an event that happened early in my game history. A few years ago, I was invited to a Stateman Taskforce as a pick up player by several veteran players. I was a little awe-struck by them at the time. But those veterans were extremely nice and helpful to me, especially since this was my first time playing in the Stateman Taskforce. It was a blast!
I told myself then, those veterans were the type of player I want to become--helpful, fun-loving, and easy-going (maybe even experienced and powerful too). I think most of those veterans are gone now, but some of them pop back in from time to time. I think this game has a habit of drawing people back "home".
On MY journey to become a "veteran", I'm finding a great bunch of "new" veterans too, whom I greatly enjoy chatting with and teaming with.
Who knows? Someday, just someday, someone will be replying to a similar forum post, reminiscing about a team that I lead.
Anyways, that was a brief comment about me. -snickers- -
Quote:I plan on participating. So who here wanna be in the good ole joy ole ole pocket d xmas event...
It will depend on if I can find a teammate, and/or if there are any "real life" holiday obligations (like family reunions, etc.).
Thank you for putting these types of events together. I learned from the main PvP forum that PvP is "dead" on Guardian. I'm glad someone is here doing something to keep it active without "disrupting" the rest of the community of players. Kudos!

I plan to alpha Azure Lightstar first. =D

According to New York magazine this week, the Spider-Man musical is scheduled to run previews beginning this Sunday, November 28. Opening night is currently slated for January 11 of 2011. The musical is directed by Julie Taymor (Frida), with music composed by Bono and Edge of U2. Peter Parker will be played by Reeve Carney (Tempest (2010)) and the role of Mary Jane will be played by Jennifer Damiano (Next to Normal).
I'm a fan of the web-slinger, but was a musical really necessary? I'm sure the stunts will be fantastic, if they can pull it off right. But I'm thinking the special effects will ultimately take away from story.
But then again, I didn't think the Lion King was going to be good Broadway show either. Shows you what I know about Broadway, huh? At any rate, according to the article, the musical is supposedly "the most expensive Broadway show ever produced".
Here's hoping they don't make Ang Lee's Hulk a musical spectacular next. -
Thank you everyone who participated in the Double CoP run and the Rikti Raid. I'm sure that @Omega Shockwave has many more planned in the near future. So look out Stormy and Big Red...we'll be back!
If you didn't get a spot on one of the runs Sunday, I hope to see you on the next one. Remember that "PRE-REG" is the best way to lock a spot in for you...unless of course you volunteer for team leader duties of course.
I would like to send a special kudos to Shadow Ravenwolf, who generously gave use of his Ventrillo server. It really makes a difference for organizing. And it's nice to put a voice to some of the characters we team with.
Hope to see you all soon.

A few days ago, I was reading through some "flavor text" on history badges, and thought to myself, "Self, why do I keep referring to myself as SELF?"
Then I started to focus on the flavor text itself and the stories behind the history badges. What would it have been like if these events actually happened? Being a comic-based world though, I always imagine someone pacing dramatically in front of a group of heroes or doing the George C. Scott Patton speech, inspiring brave young heroes to certain death.
So what speech, fiction or non-fiction, would you consider to be the most inspiring?
Would it be the St. Crispin's Day Speech from Henry V:
"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,"
Would it be John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address:
"And so, my fellow Americans:
ask not what your country can do for you—
ask what you can do for your country"
In your opinion, what speech or speeches would be so good as to inspire earth controllers to become stone tankers? To cause level 10 heroes to attack a Rikti assault ship overhead? To motivate someone to attempt a solo attack on Hamidon?
~Azure
Oh...and I still haven't heard from myself about the whole "self" thing yet. Hehe. -
Sorry. Looks like I will be missing the RED side run again. Forgot about a prior obligation. I will still make the Blue side run, and I will most likely be around the catch the tail end of the Rikti run as well.
