  1. I am used to getting blind invites to a group... and there are also people who will ask you to a grp telling you what the grp is in advance... but recently I have been getting a lot of tells that go...

    can you fill for a sec plz

    I have been promptly putting these people on global ignore, bit my list is filling up fast...

    is this some kind of scam that I am not aware of... I mean ok... when someone says fill for a sec... they do not literally mean 1 second... but then what... I am taking your place for 5 minutes? longer? how does this become a quick favor? are you that important, that your group will miss you that bad for 5 minutes (keep in mind 50 Blaster, all I am is dps)?

    any longer than that negates the whole sec concept, which is why I just write this off as a scam... anyone else getting these tells? maybe its nothing... but it just seems to not make sense...

  3. agreed... i just used 50's all around for mid... but when buying if there is a significant price diff I am dropping down some levels...

    I took your advice on the lrm and some other sets where the 6th slot is not a must have...

    well as i said... lrm is up every other pack in my build... and I use the animation to my advantage... the long animation gives the tank a sec to grab aggro and pack the grp together...

    keep in mind that if your opener is lrm > fa> m30 ... thats over 10k dmg...
  5. I actually double click my power tray (in case my target dies, double click gets a new one for me ) it crushes me to be a clicker... but I use 2 trays and its just easier to click then click and alt-click (tray 2) etc... plus I would have to double hit the keys? to get the auto target
  6. Want to thnx everyone for there input... here is what I came up with... unless there are any magor objections this is what I am going to try out (and actually I am half way there already, with all the attack slots and a few other powers filled)...

    it is really kikin butt so far, I almost always have an aoe atk up and ready to go and the only time I have been dieing is if I lose my situational awareness and let a boss get underneath me...

  7. I have always run hover and cj as part of my defense package... and I like it... does not eat up too many power choices, slots, or end... but remember its only part of the package, you still need some situational awareness...

    I 3 slotted hover and 2 slotted cj with... doh whatever that universal travel power is... cant think of it atm... its the one that has the -4 knockback

    I tried the tough weave combo, but did not like it becuase it used up two powers, were both toggles using end... and both wanted slots that I wanted to use in other places... just imho

    I can still remember leveling up my blaster and tbh, I think the devs have already made plenty of game changes to fix us...

    we still have the utility to run average solo missions and can always skip a really hard one if we have no friends we can group with

    in groups we are still king dps imo espcially in AE, speaking of which now that we have AE we can get so's and io's much easier (tickets and more money)

    while to a lot of AT's the game is kinda over at L50... I feel that to a blaster, the game is just beginning... we lay down some massive damage which only grows as we tweak or L50 slots...

    and when you talk about blaster face planting more than other at's... well when I open up on a large group and drop down 15k dmg across the grp in a few seconds... i better have my will in order... or a survival plan...

  10. Well first, let me direct you to a thread I started for help with my Ar/Dev
    Ar/Dev Slotting

    Playstyle will have a lot to do with my suggestions, so keep that in mind, and my pvp is 0%...

    I would drop medicine and take combat jumping for the D. Defense and range from target along with inspirs and knockback aoe atks keep me plenty alive... If you are running outta health, run away... This will also give you another power choice.

    If you are going to pvp, then I assume you should take burst because of Defiance 2.0 (correct me if I am wrong on that)...

    As for Epic power pool... what I tell all blasters is that until you have fired the LRM Rocket... you cannot make an informed decision on your epic pool...

    I had Gun Drone... and imo all it is, is a fun toy (unless it has a pvp use?)

    why Air Superiority? as a Blaster you are always 2 shots from death, why would you want to melee... The only melee weapon I use is the Ghost Axe, and that is only when the mob is a sliver from death and the tank is holding him for me

  12. if you have never held or fired the LRM Rocket Launcher, then you are not qualified to make the decision no matter what people tell you about other powers...

    It has Sniper Rifle Range and Damage, it makes a a great sound as it fires and heads towards the target, it does 2 types of damage with a nice KB... presently the recharge on mine is 153 sec. (avble about every 2-3 groups) with a range of 173....

    The first time you set this thing loose and watch -173's and -126's flood the screen, then you will be able to make the decision... just imho

    You could almost solo a pack of 52 Bosses with LRM > FA > M30 > FT > M30 > BS... (almost there alpha will kill you, but when you are done, the group healer could finish them off)...

I love my AR/Dev... in grps I can lay down nonstop aoe (pretty much the only reason I would stop is if I am picking up too much aggro)... and with devices, I can solo and still be in good shape... also there is nothing better than taking down that mob that is running with a sliver of health left from what seems like miles away with the sniper rifle... sometimes you can barely see em when they go down... reminds me of those long distance shots from League of Extordinary Gentlemen...

    I also took munitions mastery for the LRM... it makes a great opener LRM > FA > M30 > FT > BS > M30... (the M30 puts them on there butts and keeps them off you) yeah the LRM takes forever to fire... but that gives the tank time to get aggro and pack a nice tight grping, which makes it a good opener every other group or so depending on how fast they go down
  14. Played from initial release to just after Cov came out. Free week got me to sign up again to a world of change. IO and Slotting advice appreciated... and I realize that Calc Acc set prob no good, but got entire set for under 1 mil and wanted to see how sets work.

    I am a AE hover blaster and pretty happy with the power selections I have, but my eyes are bleeding from reading up on slots and io's and ED

  15. I spent 23 hours to get all 2.7 gb dl and then there was an error and now it started over with the fixing processs which is another 2.2 gb and another 20 hours...

    any chance on another free weekend to make up for this failed free weekend... if you make it in about a month from now, I should have everything dl'd

    or this could just be a ploy... pretend to give us a dl of patches from a fresh install of the orig coh cd... watch us get totally frustrated trying to dl and go spend $20 for the latest dvd...

  17. well what i would like to see imo is the ability to delete missions from your mission log or whatever its called... i realize there is a story here... but personally I could care less about it... i just like to beat up things, complete missions and get badges... and i would rather not have to read things from contacts...

    this is just the way i like to play... so if there will be missions that cannot be solo'd... then I would like the ability to drop them so I can move on and not get my mission log clogged up with non-solo missions...

    yes perhaps i should go find another game then... but for now i like this one and since i can finish all my missions its not an issue... but if that is not the future of the game... then just the ability to drop missions i cant solo would be nice

    is that based on people who have completed respec 3 or less times? or does it include people who farm the respec missions and always win... vs the gimped pickup groups that usually fail at least once or twice?

  20. why not just forget the aoe nerf and remove the blaster from the game altogether... might be easier...
