Other than carrying blues, relying on teammate buffs, and killing Famine first, you can get extra end drain resistance for one hour from an empowerment station in your SG base. All it costs is a minute of your time and some common salvage.

Considering there is a base teleporter in RWZ, it should take just a few seconds if you have the salvage on you beforehand.
  2. Yep that looks really solid.

I had a hard time deciding between Mu and Soul, but decided to go for Mu for the extra draining power, the lower endurance costs(less time using power sink=more DPS), better AoE, and the extra recharge on the ST attack which gives about the same if not more DPS than gloom in cases where melee isn't a possibility(blue hami mitos, battle maiden on blue patches, tentacle covered pylons).
  3. Sonic gives you more control, which is good for soloing. KB from energy is nice for soloing though.

I really like my Sonic/Mental/Elec cone blaster for soloing the cimerora walls, they die really quickly now with the +1 from alpha.
  4. Yep, I went for Spiritual. Here's the build:

Good point, getting 45% S/L is pretty hard/expensive. However with a really expensive and alpha'd build the sacrifices are really minimal to non-existant. My SS/Elec has Hasten just a few seconds away from Perma(before the FF +rech proc), lots of HP, Regen, and S/L softcapped. As for cimmies, I find the softcapped defenses give me enough time to drain them dry, so it's still very helpful.
  6. The main reason people do this is that FF shields take so long to apply(almost twice as long as other shields), and if you're an MM on a full team you have almost twice as many people to buff. This is a major turn-off, and if someone were to make a thread on the suggestion forum proposing the normalization of shield cast times I would support it 150%.
  7. IMO Spiritual will work better with that build, you don't need that much defense and your accuracy looks mostly fine. Having your AoE's and Hoarfrost up sooner is preferable. It would be fine to get Nerve for those special missions that have high to hit enemies and/or defense debuffs. The good thing about the incarnate system is that you can always switch.

At first glance, I would like to see more slots in Frozen Aura and Ice Storm myself, as those along with Frost will be your most important attacks.

Oh, and you're one purple set over the rule of 5(which seems to just make you lose out on 10% recharge).
  8. Goliaths biggest hitters will be their physical attacks, and they do come pretty often. Yes I also agree getting defense for E/N or positionals should be a high priority, I just don't think getting E/N to 45% is that important on Elec compared to HP/Rech/Regen like I stated earlier. 32.5% is very viable, and 20% should work ok(You should have over 20% E/N anyway if you have 45% S/L).

    Lgtf

This is from experience, not actual data:

Riders: War rider is easy, nothing to worry about. Famine can be a bit tricky, as it can drain your endurance and terrorize you so you can't use your taunt/attacks/self heal. Pestilence gives you a massive recharge debuff, and I don't know what Death does but he is probably more problematic than War. If your energy defense isn't high I definitely recommend packing purples.

Hamidon: Hami does ignore defense and resistance, so your HP and self heals will be what keeps you alive longer. The Essence of the Earth inspirations work versus LGTF Hami just as well as versus the real Hami, so get those if you want extra safety. However keep in mind you don't have to aggro him right at the start, as he usually takes a while before he starts attacking. Considering the mitos debuff your self heals, you should avoid taunting him until most of the mitos are defeated(mitos work just like the real mitos, except weaker of course).

Final room is pretty straightforward. Pull the AV's away from the big mob and kill em, and then proceed to destroy the generators. The Honoree has unstoppable which he uses close to death, and just like any unstoppable most of your attacks will not do a lot of damage, but negative damage will hurt him a bit and psychic attacks will be the least resisted. With enough debuffs on your team his unstoppable won't help him too much.
  10. S/L is indeed the best. With capped energy resistance and softcapped S/L def you have the 3 main damage types covered. For a brute your build focus after the S/L softcap is more recharge IMO, which makes you better both offensively and defensively thanks to Energize and Power Sink.
  11. Any tank can softcap to S/L. Fire Armor seems to have the hardest time getting there, but in the end it's just a matter of influence.
  12. My Emp/Rad can run +0x8 just fine, but it's too slow for my liking.

    Ss/ele/??

I went for Mu. Makes you better at draining mobs, does 2nd best AoE damage(Pyre first) and 2nd best ST damage(Soul first).
  14. It is indeed very popular. For a while every other scrapper I saw was Elec/Shield. Today, not so much, but still a pretty common combination.

The downsides are as Syntax said, lack of a self heal and cost/late blooming. IMO the most important downside is the relatively low levels of ST damage, which isn't what someone would expect from a Scrapper.

    solo apex

Wow, very impressive! Good times too!
  16. Get the ghoul stance emote. Now that's fast respiration.
  17. WP and Regen provide you with better self healing, and Invuln provides you with better overall protection, while having sub-par self healing(Dull Pain is more of a +HP power).

If you add Dark Melee to the equation, which has a self heal, Invuln has the most synergy out of the three.

DM/Invuln is definitely one of the most survivable scrappers out there, and some would argue it is the most survivable.
  18. Ohh that's pretty good.

So, when are you making the Greek Gods one? Or Hindu Gods if that one's too cliche.
  19. My favorite support character is the one that fills the gap in my team, and has a good player behind it.
  20. I find SS/Elec a monster for soloing. But it is a late bloomer. Once you reach 35, and have both Foot Stomp and Power Sink, you become an offensive juggernaut and all you need is some defense from IO's.

I was soloing Arachnos x8 with bosses at 35.

    S/L vs Melee

Energy Melee attacks also have a smashing component. So do most of Electric Melee's attacks. S/L not only protects you against nearly all Melee attacks, it also protects you against a lot of Ranged and some AoE attacks.

If you wanna softcap Melee as well as S/L, go on ahead. But you will be better off getting defense for Ranged/AoE or E/N/F/C/P, or getting extra Recharge/HP/Regen/etc.

Lethal covers a lot of ranged attacks, and I wouldn't be surprised if the enemies with 64% tohit have lethal/melee components in most of their attacks if not all of them. Battle Maiden is a good example.

If a lot more enemies are being given the 64% to-hit treatment, Shield Defense can be easily adapted and soft capped again. What CANNOT be adapted are things like my soft-capped Katana/Dark. It will no longer have the survivability, and lord knows it doesn't have the damage output of a */Shield. I'll stop playing that character, and probably IO out my Broad Sword/Shield, or maybe change the focus of my Fire/Shield, or maybe finish leveling my Shield/Dark Tanker and IO him out.

You might notice that the only characters I imagine playing in a 64% to-hit world are Shield Defense. So unless the dev reponse to Shield Defense supposedly being OP is to make it MORE OP, I assume the to-hit buffs either do not indicate a coming pattern, or if they do, the rationale has nothing to do with Shield Defense.
Broad Sword and Katana shouldn't have too much trouble with the new ToHit numbers. If you slot for a bit of defense(2 SO's worth) in Parry/DA, that's enough to get you above 64% with one Parry/DA(or two, or three depending on your defense).

I think it is best to have an equal amount of all the defenses you are striving for. If recharge bonuses are very important to you, then 32.5% S/L/E/N defense is going to be the best you should try to get.
Battle Maiden has a higher tohit than others(about 10% more?), so she would still be hitting you often enough if you have 45% S/L def, and being a level 54 AV she can hit pretty hard, plus you also have the swords alongside her that debuff defense and do Lethal damage. Venged Bobcat and the Goliaths in particular hit really hard(I think only buffed up Recluse hits harder, could be wrong though).
  25. My most "powerful" character is my SS/Elec brute. The amount of devastation this guy dishes out both AoE and ST rivals the best of em, and Elec Armor's survivability is immense when you have a great build.
