6.5 seconds isn't that slow of a chain. My rough estimate is 13% -res on average from those two procs, that's pretty good.
-
I wouldn't use either for farming.
Elec/Shield suffers from damage cap issues, and in an inspiration rich environment like farming, you can't really put those reds to good use.
SS/Stone has the problem of, well, Stone armor. Stone's one bright spot is Mud Pots which isn't that good of a damage aura anyway, but it's still a damage aura. One thing I have to stress is that you should throw away any ideas you have of farming while in Granite. It's too slow and lowers your damage output too much. Try to work in a well slotted Brimstone and Rock Armor into your build or secondary build, and get some Aegis IO's for fire defense. That should let you do Fire farms in relative safety with purple inspirations or vengeance. -
The Achilles' -res proc doesn't stack with itself, so it's not that amazing considering a lot of people have it slotted nowadays. As for FR, the Achilles' proc follows the 10 second rule so you can't instantly get it on everyone like you currently can with Reactive.

Defender blast sets that could use better secondary effects are Radiation, Assault Rifle, Archery, and Energy. The rest of the secondaries have pretty useful to awesome tricks.

Quote:In my experience it runs well and looks better than a lot of the other MMO games out there. So a game which produces a universally worse framerate than games which look many times better and have far more advanced visual effects "is fine?" I wouldn't complain if it at least ran well, but it doesn't even do that.
Maybe my standards are too low, maybe yours are too high, or maybe I'm not aware of the exact performance numbers and the industry standards. -
I don't think you should exclude lore pets from soloing at all. It's obviously a player power and should be treated as such.
If the game gets "easy" once you get lore pets and a lot of players can now solo GM's and Pylons, that's our fault for not coming up with better challenges. I remember in the Rikti Pylon thread someone already cleared the entire RWZ of Pylons in time to lower the Mothership shields solo. That could be the new DPS achievement. -
The game engine is fine, there is no need for CoH2.

Quote:PBU+Fort and Manuevers got Victoria above the softcap, and T4 Radial Clarion+Fort and Maneuvers got ACU close to the softcap. How did you keep the WW from taking damage? I admit to not knowing much about empathy buffs but from your video it looked like they were hardly being hit at all.
On my Dark/Thugs MM, I have to taunt the crap out of the Pylon to keep it off the pets.
In this particular instance it doesn't matter though. Lore pets have an innate softcap to AoE damage, which is what all the Pylon attacks are tagged as. It was tagged as ranged before but it was fixed in a recent patch, so you might want to have another go at it. -
I made this SD/Elec build a while back, feel free to use it.

I was inspired by this thread to showcase what other things can be done with the new pets Issue 20 has given us. So, here you go:

Now all Defenders can join the DPS club. -
Fire Ball >> Dark Obliteration though, so if you actually want to kill stuff with AoE I'd go that route. On that note if I wanted to kill stuff with AoE I wouldn't choose DM either.
-
If I had to guess, I'd say it depends on the amount of targets around you, with BS having more DPS after having AAO saturated by a moderate amount of targets. Something to keep in mind though is that Katana's better base DPS would get more out of damage bonuses(from sets and assault), and SR's "easy to softcap" nature gives it more room for those.
-
Thank you very very much
-
-
SR does give you confuse protection which not a lot of other secondaries offer, and that's pretty useful in the BAF trial.
As for the PB double stacking benefits, the only place I can think of where that's useful is in the Nictus Rommie fight at the end of the ITF, when he rezzes. -

Quote:Adding Gloom as a standard to Brute's top attack chains is fine by me. Adding stuff like Caltrops and Water Spout is where things get tricky as you have to calculate their recharge, duration, and effects properly. One could use LR, but that would vary from build to build, based on how much recharge one has in LR and in global set bonuses.
It wouldn't be a regular part of the ST DPS string.
My list also just kept to what those Primaries could do amongst themselves. Adding in epic attacks is like assuming all Brutes will use Gloom for the OMGAWESOMESAUCE of it.
As for BU, I just add a flat 30% damage bonus. -
Everyone can get Water Spout and Caltrops, so I would leave them out of this.
-
It can give you better DPS than a damage proc, but the extra damage will be so minor you mind as well take the more reliable damage proc. By reliable I mean reaching the damage cap through outside buffs won't render it useless, and it'll proc more often.
-
Ninja Blade can deliver great DPS with the top attack chain and the right procs(purple and -res ones). However the lethal damage will be a hindrance at times, and the slow AS animation is a drawback as well.
Personally I would rather take something AoE centric like Elec or KM and just rely on AS and teammates for the hard targets. -
Not taking anything away from the achievement. I do consider lore pets his powers, I just didn't find the comparison to Illusion pets that accurate.

Quote:Phantom Army and Phantasm don't have that 10 minutes of downtime Lore pets have, so it's not exactly the same thing.I'd still call it solo.
The powers used were HIS powers, not temp powers picked up from a PvP zone.
I'd say anything that stays active when you disable temp powers counts as solo.
After all, Ill/Rads are considered to have soloed it, even though the bulk of the damage is coming from Phantom Army and Phantasm. -

Quote:It's a valid argument, seeing as one of the highlights of the build(Incarnate Softcap) is not too needed in today's content. In future issues that might change, however. It's been a while since I've played Katana, thanks for the touch up Werner. I had a feeling I picked the wrong power between the T1 and T2 primary.
Looking at that SR build, it's hard for me to recommend SR for an infinite Inf top build. It doesn't have any worthwhile Resist (yes, I know about Scaling Resists), it isn't HP capped, and will get less HP/sec with Rebirth Radial Epiphany than a perma-HP capped Invulnerability. The only reason I'd go with SR on a top tier build is because of character theme. I'm not poo pooing on your build, but I think that SR could definitely have a better high end build standing.
The HP/Sec is still good without a lot of HP, about 65 HP/Sec if I'm not mistaken. Not Invuln levels of mitigation by any means, but it's still enough to keep you going I'd imagine.
