I wanted to edit my thread starting post, but apparently you can't, so I wanted to add a bit of info here that may help you enjoy my arc more.
My arc is first and foremost intended as an origin story. So, my hero is made very strong. If she died early on, well it would kind of ruin the arc. This arc is not made to be an extreme challenge for awesome players. I designed it so people could solo on the lowest settings and hopefully enjoy it.
Along the same lines, my allies are overpowered. They are there to help people if needed. I recommend that if you are looking for an uber challenge, don't play my arc. If you like a challenge, set the difficulty on high and don't use the allies.
Also one other thing to note. I attempted to sprinkle humor throughout the arc. If you see something odd that doesn't seem to fit, it was most likely an attempt a humor.
Sorry for the thread interruption, but there is little point in people wasting time on an arc they are bound to dislike.
Now back to enjoying your arcs -
[ QUOTE ]
The sheer horribleness of what went on in the Blight Thread made me critically review my own thread and take a long hard look at my reviewing in general.
I wondered if, when I'm not enjoyong an arc, it's maybe myfault. not the Author's. Maybe I'm not playing the arc slowly enough, or maybe my choice of toon is wrong.
When people play my arcs, I'd like them to play them at a measured pace, at a reasonable challenge level, and give them some kind of opportunity to show themselves off to their best. I should do no less with someone elses arc. I should be active in working with an arc to let whatever quality it has shine.
I'd like this review thread to be an antidote to the type of toxic criticism that occurred in the Blight thread. My reviews will therefore never have ratings of less than 3 stars, and any negative criticism i deliver will be delivered in as mild a form as i can manage. If you want brutality, go to one of the bully boys down the hall, you know who they are. I'll offer typo and grammar siugestions, and suggest plot or mechanics alternatives if I think they'd be useful, but I'm no expert (none of the reviewers are), and at the end of the day it's only one man's opinion. I'm happy to discuss the arcs in question and my review with the authors and anyone can submit an arc. I'm not asking for QPQ plays of my arcs, but if anyone wants to play The Audition, I'd appreciate it.
I realise that some of my toons have had a better time of it during the reviews; if I find myself not having enough fun during a run, I''ll change toon in an effort to give it another chance. The meat of the reviews will be in-character, as has become my favourite way to do it. I think that the main toons i'll be using will be the Accelerated Man, Robin Copperfield, Blush Bubble, Scoop Malloy, the Psystem, Tarquin Wilde, Atomicide, and Jacque Le Black.
My only stipulations for arc submissions are:
No Malta
No KoA
Nothing higher than lvl 45.
Limited slows and -Fly if possible
My starting queue is:
The Consequences of War 227331 and 241496
The Fracturing of Time 171031
The Doctor Returns 1152
I've also replayed a few of the arcs i gave negative reviews to in my earlier arc, with different toons. I'll put those dowwn before i get onto the queue.
Writing arcs is difficult, and takes a lot of effort. I believe that effort should be appreciated, even if the results aren't my cup of tea.
Eco.

Wow, I so agree with what you said! You are extremely funny and while I can't say that I loved your review of my arc, I got a lot of valuable input from it.
The fact that I smiled, while reading a review of my arc that I didn't much care for, proves your talent for making people laugh.
I have an issue with the harshness of many reviews posted on this board and I am not talking about reviews of my arc.
Having created an arc, I know how much work goes into them, and well the arc bashing I have seen on this board is often mean and uncalled for.
Kudos to you for starting this thread -
Captain Dynamic, the Great, Faces The Great Face
ARC ID: 190069
Author: @Aehaed
Reason: Lots of details, great use of game mechanics and most of all really funny. Notice the captions when opening the crates. -

The Pursuit of Liberty was a lot of fun, more comments in-game.
Perhaps you'll enjoy "Captain Dynamic, the Great, Faces The Great Face", #190069. It's just 15-20 minutes long. It might make more sense if you've seen the Captain Dynamic video clips, but that's not required.
The story has you playing the part of Captain Dynamic to try out an arc he wrote with his friends, and gets pretty strange pretty fast.
Cheers, airhead

A really fun arc. It made me smile
What I liked best: It was SO funny. There were even funny captions in unexpected places like when I opened crates. -
Thank you PoptartsNinja
I will play one of your arcs soon if you give me an arc ID and name.
For those of you that may be wondering, PoptartsNinja posted a review of my arc here, which contained some useful feedback. I welcome any and all feedback postive or negative, but PM me with it, don't post it here.
Unlike many other threads of this kind, I am not asking you for a detailed review. Just a quick comment in game when you are done playing my arc with something you liked or something you would change.
I want this thread to be about me posting something positive about your arcs, not about you posting things about my arc. -

If you could play either one of my arcs, that'd be great. I'll play yours soon
Marked Man - 3463
or
The Perfect Drug - 244209

I played Marked Man - 3463
What I liked best: The detailed custom bios of the AMS and the humor that sneaks in at times. -
I would love for you to play either of my arcs listed below to get some feedback on how they are for team play.
In Pursuit of Liberty says very long but it generally takes an hour or less. It is a story based arc with bits of comedy tossed in.
Don't Freak is a one mission humor based arc.
Hope you and your group enjoy either or both! -
The Shadow Rune of the Warlocks

I absolutely loved this arc! I can tell how much work you put in to creating it.
What I liked best: A tie between the awesome dark mood created by your great choice of maps and the Adamastor. -
There are many really good arcs out there that have gotten very few plays. If your arc is one of these, and you would like it played, here is what I ask:
Play my arc In Pursuit of Liberty - 221702
Rate it in game, and send me a comment of something you like or something you would change.
Post your arc name, ID and author name here.
I will play your arc, rate it in game, and send you a comment. I will not post a detailed review here, nor will I look for flaws. There are lots of talented reviewers on this thread who will already do that.
What I will post here is what I liked best about your arc.
Enjoy -

The Fearsome Followers are awful, and that last mission made me angry because of the idiot Allies.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the in depth review! I especially appreciate you, catching the title typo (goes to show we see what we expect to see).
Sorry you didn't care for the Fearsome Followers. As along as I hold them, they aren't so bad. I actually added them by request, because people said the arc was too easy. This proves that you can't please everyone.
As to the idiot allies, well as you know, sadly they don't listen to me or you either apparently.
I give your review at least 4, if not 5 stars. It was so funny!
Thanks -

A few things to note:
I can solo this arc even on fairly low level heroes. The warnings are bogus and I believe based on the fact that I made my ally a high level.
Also it says Very Long. Again I believe this is based on the fact that there are five missions. The first 2 are fairly short. The third, fourth and fifth can also be completed fairly quickly if you go for the objectives.
A few people have found a frustation in mission 4. If you do read what Statesman says. It should help.
I hope you enjoy it!
I will play one of yours when I get a chance. -
Thanks for your detailed re-review of the arc!
I didn't know you could use the bio that comes with the character, so depending on space, that may help me a lot.
I am still confused as to what to do to about the time travel. As you know, originally, the first 2 arcs where present day, and there was a time gap bewteen missions 2 and 3.
I have read many books where you turn a page, and years have passed, so I saw no problem with that. However, you were not the only one to take issue with it.... So I changed it.
My intent was not that the ALL was sent back, although... but just that even seven years ago they existed.
Do you think I should keep the time travel, just make it clear in the original contact dialogue... or return the arc to the way it was?
I really appreciate your input so much! -

Mecha Mutiny: Quatrexin's Quandary
ARC ID: 246604
Author: @Feizel
Reason: This arc was lots of fun to play! I loved the contact and some of the costum villians. While this arc was mainly a story, some of the dialogue was so funny to me, I actually laughed. -
Please review my arc:
@Gypsy Rose
In Pursuit of Liberty - 221702
I have changed it a lot based on forum feedback and I hope it is improved. -
I played #246604
Mecha Mutiny: Quatrexin's Quandary
I loved the arc name and your mission titles. I really loved the contact. He looks so cool. I suggest that you add a custom bio for him.
Mission 1:
Great intro dialogue - especially "obviously epic problem"
Nice touch having SG name in dialogue.
I really loved the dialogue from your contact when you return and you aren't yet done. It was so funny to me that I laughed.
Challenging and fun to play mission'
In the wrap up - did u mean to say "the Clockwork King"
Mission 2:
another nice intro and lol the busy dialog
I loved the ClockWork Maiden
Typo in exit pop up mission 2 - says findingd
I Like the mystery - what is Edison? Kept my interest.
Mission 3:
Love the royal guard.
I admit it - I stealthed this as i was solo on an illusion/emp. Loved the villians. That royal guard really scared me.
Mission 4:
LOL again i loved the still busy dialog. You had me fooled since mission 3's wasn't funny.
Loved the gadgets
Dr Aeon's rescue dialogue was funny.
Mission 5:
The mystery of Edison is revealed.
The still busy pop-up got me again.
All that looking forward to meeting Ed and he killed me. Where are his manners
Overall impression:
I really enjoyed this arc. It was fun to play, had some nice custom characters and I loved the humor! -
I played and reviewed your arc 2, and I would love if you get a chance if you would re-review my arc: In Pursuit of Liberty
I tried my best to address all the issues you raised. Most noteably, I added tons of commas (I lost count) .
I updated, and I hope improved the bios of all my custom characters.
I addressed the following: "I also get a "Thank You" letter from the Liberty League, though when I leave the mission a pop-up suggests that I'm not supposed to receive the letter until AFTER I'm outside the mission, so the "timing" of the clue and the pop-up is a bit off. Mission Complete." by stating on the exit pop-up that Agent Liberty has given you a note.
Though I have read many books where I flipped a page and 10 years have passed, you were not the only one who took issue with the time skip bewteen mission 2 and 3, so I changed the arc so you go back in time for missions 1 and 2. This makes mission 3 in the present and you, the player time-travel instead of a time gap between missions.
I added details in bios, clues and mission contact text to provide insight as to how the journal and the swords got where they were, and how Ms. Liberty knew what she did.
I could not fit an extra type in the ALL, but to address the issue of repetition and boredom, I changed the main groups in mission 3 and 4.
I really appreciate all your input. I reworked my arc a lot. I hope you find it improved. Thanks again so much
