  1. Oktons totally right.

I've duo farmed on more than one occasion with a fire/kin/stone and he was more safe doing it than me but my damage was far better.

I'm not much of a numbers man since a lot of the numbers seems to be wrong anyway so I always try to actually play the sets to form my own opinion.

I tried stone....I loved EE, armor was ok, fissure was ok....and then I went back to fireball.

Mind storm is a pretty useless combo

  3. * If possible use a breakfree proactively and not retroactively.

    * If doing a respec see if you can fit the right powers in before the zone caps (25, 30, 38).

    * The one doing the damage to you isn't necessarily your problem. Take out the buffer/debuffer as Cel was saying.

    * AoEs are generally not very good in PvP (there are of course exceptions to this rule).

(all I can think of atm that hasnt already been said)
  4. What Imag said basically.

Fire/Rad is really awesome and in a lot of cases faster than Ill/Rad but Ill/Rad will perform better and safer seen over all 50 lvls.
  5. Generally agree with _Spirits slotting advice. Personally I would add a few more recharges here and there. I would slot the holds 2 acc, 2 rech, 2 hold dur instead and also put a recharge in Transfusion. I know kins all about speed...and you cant go too fast so add the recharges I say

Try it out and see what you like the best.
  6. PooMan and Jack's AI have been talked about over and over again and is something the devs are looking at...maybe not as closely as one could hope though.

PooMan already have a ranged attack in hurl boulder and he has knockdown effects.

Jack already have a ranged attack in ice bolt and he has a ranged hold aswell.

...but yeah...would be great if they managed to "fix" their AI.

I think it depends on your boredom thresh-hold. Illusion is just boring up to 16. Perfectly soloable but its just levels of blind, Spec. Wounds, Blind, Spec. Wounds, Blind, Spec..... you get the idea.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And here's where bad controllers show themselves....the secondary is there for a reason.

There's for the most part a lot more variety to controllers at lowlvl than most other ATs
  8. Ill/Rad is probably the best combo seen over all 50 lvls.

Fire/Kin really is awesome after lvl 35 but Ill/Rad shines from lvl 1-50.

Basically any troller combo is fun and good and it's really up to your playstyle.
  9. lvl 1 - 18: Mind/Rad

    lvl 18 - 32: Ill/Rad (possibly Ill/Kin)

    lvl 32 - 35: Fire/Rad

    lvl 35 - 50: Fire/Kin

Take it, Hammi costumes are still for blasters - red, or are we worried about the colouring of each others costumes ??

    [/ QUOTE ]

Colours doesnt matter. Just try to keep your cossie as simple as possible ie no capes, trenchcoats wings etc.

It is the best pvp power in the illusion set. Period.

    [/ QUOTE ]

True...right after Spectral Wounds, Blind, Superior Invisibility, Group Invisibility, Phantom Army and Spectral Terror
  13. [ QUOTE ]

Only thing I'll say on the matter is this. An Illusion Controller without Deceive would be a challenge.

    No.

Good power...usually better powers to take so no room for it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    yes

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Such as?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    From a PvE perspective:

Blind, spectral wounds, superior invis, phantom army, spectral terror, phantasm (maybe group invis and flash), healing aura, heal other, clear mind, fortitude recovery aura, regeneration aura, adrenalin boost(maybe absorb pain and resurrect), personal force field, deflection shield, insulation shield, dispersion bubble, force bubble (and maybe force bolt), tranfusion, siphon power, siphon speed, transference, fulcrum shift (and maybe increase density and inertial reduction), radiant aura, radiation infection, accelerate metabolism, enervating field, lingering radiation, em pulse (and maybe mutation and choking cloud), sonic barrier, sonic haven......deep breath....disruption field, sonic dispersion, clarity, snow storm, steamy mist, freezing rain, hurricane, tornado, lightning storm (and maybe o2 boost), hurdle, stamina, fly (maybe hover), tactics (maybe vengeance), combat jumping, super jump, acrobatics.....nother deep breath.....aid self, hasten, super speed, teleport (maybe recall friend) from the top of my head

Ninja edit: Didnt mention any TA powers as I havent actually played the set so wont comment on it.
  15. ...and I find it funny that you still believe there's a GM counterattack and refusing to read any of the replies disputing your ideas.

Nightbringer's words may have been harsh...can't say I disagree though.

I'll be there for tomorrows raid to see the allmighty and fantastically important perimeter guard in action.

    Ice/Storm

    [ QUOTE ]

Atm im stuck on getting a move for 28,
my choices are, Shiver, Flashfreeze, O2 Boost, SnowStorm, Hurricane and Thunderclap.

Shiver is just a wealer version of Freezing rain except a Cone AOE which means going in.
    Flashfreeze is just pants.
Snowsotmr, Thunderclap and Hurricane all push mobs away and scatter as wheremy build is too keep mobs tight together.
The only other choice i really have is Super speed but i already have fly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Shiver is a very nice, very wide cone, slow (-rech,-movement speed) whereas Freezing Rain is a targetable AoE that does the same but has a big -resistance and big defense debuff (and the added neglible damage).

Snowstorm doesnt repel mobs...it actually helps keeping the mobs inside your Freezing Rain. Nice -movement and again -recharge.

Hurricane is a lifesaver and doesnt just repel mobs...has a huge tohit debuff and is a must in my book.

Tornado is tricky as it knocks mobs back but it also does decent damage and has a huge defense debuff. Great for AV fights and for mobs stuck in Frostbite...and as a panic button for that matter.

Flashfreeze is quite pants as you said.

Thunderclap has its uses albeit limited.

Freezing Rain, Snowstorm, Tornado and Hurricane are must haves imo.

Shiver and o2 boost are optional but very nice to have.
  17. Could it be you have griefers at your raids maybe?

P.S: Don't click the glowies when doing the respec trial...it'll make it harder!!!

    PvP and Server

Union has a bigger population atm so yes the zones are busier than Defiants.

Personally I mostly play on Defiant and for the most part duels, 2 vs 2s and to some extent 3 vs 3s are fairly easy to come by using the arena channel.

All PvP requests seems to dissappear in the massive arenaspam on Union.
  19. Looks like the alleged GM counterattacks only happens on Union as suspected...weird innit?
  20. Just gotten back from work and heard the raid was succesful. Nicely done people.

As I understand it there wasnt any "unwanted" GM aggro after the mitoclearing or after Hami himself was defeated right? Didnt think so
  21. Archy

    Grats to....

Burning Aggression aka Disruptor for dinging yet another toon....nicely done my friend

Ok... Ok... so what exactly are you guys suggesting I do then? Scrap a monster patrol, hope for the best and have 8 extra people for the mito? (Not a rant, just a straightforward question)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't get me wrong mate...I'm not telling you to do anything. This is yours and HHs raid so you do it exactly as you want.
My personal opinion and experience from raids is that it's not needed and will only add to confusion and misguided belief that people other than the designated team should be taunting/helping/debuffing etc any GMs close or far away from Hami.

    @TsumijuZero
    [ QUOTE ]
If I may, and I know I have no right commenting on Defiants raid strategy as your raid organisation is different to ours on Union.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You're using our guide.

    [ QUOTE ]
The Perimeter Guard teams still take part in mito clearing on Union, but we keep an eye out where we can on GM's and are the first to attack any aggro'd targets GM wise during mito clearing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A Hamiraid is all about keeping it simple. Can't exactly say Union follows that rule.

    [ QUOTE ]
After which, during the brawl and hold stages of Hami, thats when we stand watch. Please note, stand watch!

    [/ QUOTE ]

The controller brawl phase always makes me chuckle

    [ QUOTE ]
If and IF anything does attack, we alert the raid and intercept them as quickly as possible, so that the controller groups ISNT endangered.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We're on TS. Keeps everything simpler and faster. Telling someone to sort a possible GM situation works fine there without having to shout on broadcast so people will panic, start attacking GMs all over and maybe fail the raid (if during the holdphase anyway)

    [ QUOTE ]
One thing I would ask, even if you dont run a GM team.

Please please please keep an eye out for a GM counterattack after the Bud drop on the raid, if nothing else, consider evacuating as many hero's that want to swap HO's to pocket d or somewhere else to do so.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As Extremus said. I've never ever seen this happen. If this supposedly was after the last Union raid (last friday right?) I was there, killed buds till everything was clear...went on to kill a GM which was minding it's own business and then logging...no "massive GM attack" in sight.

with 3 mez hami os its pretty darn good

    [/ QUOTE ]

Highlighted the important bit. Don't use it.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
I just wish people would show as much enthusiasm to forming PA drop teams, mito-clearing teams and generally showing up with enough controllers as you do with GM-team..

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Exactly.
  25. Thing is....lot of people will think "oh...I'd better help that GM team...Oh I'd better taunt that GM away from Hami...Oh what's that team doing over there?" etc....and suddenly you have way too much GM attention because people wont do what the raidleader tells them....even if they think they're helping.

The best route imo would be to have 1-3 tanks patrolling the area and taunting any GMs that would be coming too near the raiders.

Some background from the raids we've done:
We always had a few people from OotCS to keep an eye out for troublemakers and GMs. We never told anyone because of the reasons above.

At one point we more or less decided that this was basically a waste of good raiders so OotCS joined in instead and all was good.

The night came where we had 2 certain people at the raid (who's names I've pm'd Cap Alpha) and it failed because of GM aggro. We still don't know if 1 of these people was the cause of said aggro or if it was another player or team intent on griefing the raid or maybe just unintentional aggro from a random player.

Ever since that incident people have been more concerned about patrolling for GMs than the actual raid....which is a bad development imo.

Concentrate about doing the actual Hamiraid and maybe keep a few scouts out and you will do fine.
