One side effect is while lowering the spam looking for anchors and padders, people who CAN'T run the 8 person difficulty spawned missions by themselves for whatever reason (low levels, weak powersets, just not good at playing) will start whining on broadcast for someone to help them with their farm mission.

You DO realise that the story is pretty generic and that Going Rogue is NOT i16, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not i16? What is it then?
[/ QUOTE ]
A new paid expansion that may or may not have a new issue associated with it in the future, but not until after issue 16 comes out according to BaBs. While likely that there will be an issue, or at least an update, to coincide (maybe 17, maybe 18, maybe 35, no one knows), it could also already be in the game's code now and just not turned 'on' yet (probably not, but its possible). But the new update will not be the Going Rogue expansion, and the Going Rogue expansion will not be the new issue. The expansion will likely be a new box on the retail shelves that gives you a serial code that allows you to access the new content associated with Going Rogue. -

I will say this.. I hope that make a secondary as well. I would like to see some more complete sets rather than just a primary and thats it..
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, the most thematic secondary for Demon Summoning is Thermal Radiation.
Here's hoping for some Proliferation in Going Rogue, as well (or as one of the as yet unannounced features of Issue 16: Going Rouge).

Her secondary was listed as darkness on her profile. However I do hope for some proliferation as well.
Edit...looks like the demon/thermal mastermind will be coming soon. -

/me is a sad panda... and out 19.99 because I already have booster 1 and 2...
[/ QUOTE ]
Am I missing something painfully obvious here? If your sole intention was to aquire SB III, why did you spend $19.99 on the Architect Edition when you could have saved 10 bucks by buying the booster by itself for $9.99 here.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are missing something. AE edition also comes with free month of play. 10+15=25 for 20. Small discount, but still there.
[/ QUOTE ]
I get that there is a free month. But the statement being "out 19.99" indicates that the purchase was a *complete* waste of all the money spent. "Out 5 bucks" I guess would have been more accurate.
[/ QUOTE ]
The other option would be to save the serial code for when/if you ever wanted to open a second account. Then you get the cyborg or magic booster and a free month. Even if you don't, you have a disk with the game up to issue 14 on it...saves a little time downloading and setting up on a reinstall. Not great but trying to find the half-full glass. -

[*]Removed Mending Mitochondria from Devouring Earth enemy group.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe its just my sick sense of humor, but I think it would have been funnier if the devs gave them an uber-powerful nuke with a 300 yard radius in the AE that would kill any player no matter the resistance or defense as a self destruct on one hit and hit while phased.
"Lets do a bubble farm"...thack...BOOM...all dead...farm that. -
[ QUOTE ]
I say "was", "didn't", and "would" because Mending Mitochondria got yanked out of AE by this morning's patch .
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank the devs!. I'm in no way against farming, and actually have fun with some of the boss farms because they fight back and you can be killed fairly easily still in them if you're not careful, so it can be still a bit of a challenge on some teams, but the bubbles were just plain exploitive and not fun beating up on stationary objects that can't defend themselves. -

masterminds <--> controllers
stalkers <--> scrappers
brutes and arachnos <--> tankers
corrupter <--> defender
[/ QUOTE ]
Kheldians don't get epics. Why would they get patrons?
I still think that they will either introduce heroic patrons that are basically identical to the villainous patrons and give the same pool. Or they will just say you have to go back over to G-Ville and do your patron's arc. Or they will just remove the arc requirement to open up the patron pools, essentially making the access to them just like the heroic epic pools and leave the patron arcs to do whenever you want and call it a night.
I wouldn't expect existing archtypes to get different epic/patron pools depending on their morality. They already have the powers semi-balanced as is...why make more work when they don't have to with already a lot on their plate with all the new zone(s) and everything else with going rogue. I could see them adding new epic and patron pools, and if they remove the patrol arc requirement, it would also make it that much easier to add more patrol/epic pools to the villains and heroes because they wouldn't have to come up with a new patron, story, and missions for it. Plus it makes it more complicated when they do switch sides, which would require a respec just switch the epic pool. Could be wrong, but thats just my 2 cents. -

I'd love to see a non stop rikti invasion with a mother ship hovering over it. Nothing but the Ship Raid elites spawn, in droves.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think it would be more poetic for the devs to create a special AV strength Comm Officer that open portals that spawn multiple Honorees and the other AV at the end of the LGTF (forget his name), have about 30 of them pop into the AE with every invasion, and not disappear until defeated, rather than them leave when the invasion is over, which will be fun in itself to try and knock out possibly dozens of AVs in a small area...like the 5 year anniversary party all over again.

Not to mention that part of the game is strategically slotting powers to perform. If you were meant to have every stat maxed out, they would allow unlimited slots on every power. Only allowing 6 per slot creates a strategy in the game that you can't have it all and you have to chose which aspects of which power you want to enhance. Do you maximize the damage aspect of the power, and sacrifice some of the end drain capabilities, or do you intend on using the power to drain the endurance so you forgo some damage boost to make it a pseudo-sapper power, or do you take a little of each? Its all part of the strategy of the game in that you can't have it all. If you could, everyone would have the same powers doing the same thing. It creates a little variety of the ability of some toons.
One suggestion to consider is to have some of the powers heavy on damage, some heavy on end drain. Personally, once I get to around 30 or 35 and up, and especially 50 and the powers I want 6 slotted with lvl 50 common IOs, usually I can have no problems with endurance, still have my endurance drain specialty powers doing decent drain and damage without missing. Even more-so once you get into IO Sets, you can forgo the 6th (sometimes 5th) of a set as well, still have ED-capped damage, decent accuracy, some end redux and recharge redux, throw in the end mod IOs and get that ED-capped as well, and still have some set bonuses left over. -

I haven't done any AE missions yet. I wouldn't mind trying them out if they're a good source for the tickets mentioned. However, I do enjoy the regular story arc missions as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd stay away from AE for a good while; keep learning the game. This is an extreme example of what you can get sucked in to, but still.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't say stay away from it, but that is a good example of what can happen if you fail to learn the game and stick around only the AE. AE missions CAN be quite fun. It can also be a source of powerleveling. And by doing that, you miss out on the rest of the content that you said you like. Try out the AE, see what its about. Just don't do it exclusively and go out and explore the rest of the game. Much of it has changed lately. -

Only 5 of the Kinetic Crashes should work.
[/ QUOTE ]
He' referring to a single instance of 6 slotting Kinetic Crash into a power for the 7.5% +rech set bonus.
As previously stated, the set bonuses are completely different than any of the "set bonus IOs". As long as the benefit is itself a different name, you can stack 5 of each of them. If you really wanted to, you could get 5 BotZ +KB prot, 5 Steadfast Prot +KB prot, 5 Karma +KB prot, and 5 Kinetic Crash 4 piece set bonuses and they would all stack because they're actually different "powers" as the game sees them.
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought it was 5 of the same percentage on the aspect, not the same enhancement set? Since they both have a +7.5% recharge increase only 5 total would work. Name of the enhancement I don't think plays into it. If you slot 6 purple sets that each have a +10% recharge you only get 5 of the +10%s.
If the OP is getting 10 +7.5 recharge increases from this build, I think its because the +7.5 from the Luck of the Gambler is considered a global effect from an enhancement while the +7.5 from the Kinetic crashes are a set bonus from slotting multiples of one set in a power. I think they have a different counter on them.
Also note that they CAN slot the 6th set of kinetic crash but they just won't get the set bonuses from it. The rest of the enhancement will work. Nothing stops them from doing it. -
Yes, while he's made some mistakes, this is how we should handle the AE babies that are showing up...help them learn the game. Not badmouthing them and telling them they are wrong just because they got sucked into the new AE feature.
To the OP:
Run either tutorial on a new character. Keep this one around. After you get a handle on the game you can go rebuild the second build or respec this one into possibly a great toon.
I agree that a scrapper or a brute would be a good first solo toon route. My first was a spine regen scrapper that I still enjoy. Since you're kind of used to a blaster, spines might be a good choice because it has several ranged attacks along with the melee attacks, along with several AOE attacks. Regen is a little on the squishy side...he can't take a lot of damage at once, but he recovers quickly from damage he does get if he survives.
Definitely stay away from Kheldians (Peacebringers and Warshades) or VEATS (Soldiers of Arachnos or Widows) until later because they can be much more complicated to get built right to be very useful.
Ask questions. If you can't figure something out even after reading the tutorials, go out on broadcast and ask around, or get on the forums like you have done here. This game has many people on that are more than willing to help someone out who is genuinely trying to learn the game.
I agree to also avoid the AE for a while. Reserve the AE for times when you want to level up but there is no more content left in the game at your level that you can do.
Oh, and if no one has said this yet, welcome to the REAL gameLook me up if you're ever on the Infinity server and need some help. Global name is @aquajaws.

If the volume control is part of the vista OS system, chances are there isn't a way to keybind through the game for it. The interface for controlling the volume is most likely outside of the games control, at least I haven't see anything that allows you to adjust the games volume inside the game interface like that.
This would be a good thing to PM one of the devs about and/or to post in the suggestion forums. Sounds like a nice QoL feature they could add in without too much trouble I'd imagine. -

If it doesn't apply to AE the question is going to be "Why the double standard?" And it's a fair question. Not all AE missions are farms. Not all AE teams are PL teams.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure some people will come in whining and crying about some kind of double standard, but the devs have set a precedent for not giving AE missions the same rewards as regular missions already.
Examples:
Patrol XP (both not applying to AE, and not during double XP weekend),
Kill Badges,
Some critters in AE having less XP than in regular missions (Rikti Communication Officers is the first one that comes to mind),
Only tickets, no salvage or recipe drops.
It wouldn't be a double standard. It would be the standard of the game that they don't like.
Note: Before someone tries to brand me as an AE hater or something, I don't care much either way if double XP is included with the AE or not. I enjoy playing the AE missions and the main game as well. I play for fun with my friends and other players, not for rewards. Sometimes I like going through a story, sometimes I like trying to plow through 20+ mobs of bosses on a big team just to see if we can. Just my thoughts on what to expect for it. I'll be playing the game either way. -
Possibilities
1. Guy is lying.
2. Guy is confused and thinking 2 purple enhancements, not enhancement SETS.
3. Something added recently has caused unique enhancements to break and not many people have noticed yet.
My money is on #2. -

yea a new retail box in stores that you can't use the advertised feature to take advantage of double xp? that'll happen
[/ QUOTE ]
Nothing would be stopping them from taking advantage of double XP if it didn't apply to the AE missions. Nothing is stopping them from using the AE. They could very easily take a walk outside to another zone and play out in the non-AE world and get double XP. They can easily just keep playing AE missions for their normal reward (which is already considered by many to be extremely high).
Nothing is stopping anyone from doing that except themselves. They advertised patrol XP but turned off patrol XP during the last double XP weekend as well as during AE missions. Who knows, maybe double XP weekend will do that and lure the people out of the AE for a weekend and make them realize there's a whole other game out there to play in. -

Its in beta now.
Thats all we know for certain. -
[ QUOTE ]
The real question would be "why wouldn't Double XP apply to AE?". If AE truly is a alternative to regular game content then those alternative players would feel targeted for using a system for its intended purpose.
No one here is stupid and I can imagine the madness that will be double XP + AE, but what kind of message will be sent?

The same kind of message they got when they didn't apply patrol xp to AE missions. -

I'm sure that the devs COULD rig something up where they could just have the costume creator as a separate application so we could play with them just like the regular game, but it would take a decent amount or resources and testing that I'm sure they have things that a lot of the players would consider higher priority for the actual game to work on.

I got a question. Don't bother telling me this is the wrong place cause I don't care. I have a question for players and I'm asking here.
IF the devs offered free transfers to everyone on Freedom server for one week, would you transfer all your main characters to a different server? If so which one?
I ask because I hate Freedom now that it has become a giant bucket of noob AE farm bile. It's always been a tad bit annoying, but I like the high population so I've stayed for 4 years...now I just want out but won't even consider paying $10 per characetr to find a new home. Just curious if anyone else would jump at this offer to make a new server your home for no charge.
[/ QUOTE ]
What makes you think the AE baby flood is in any way confined to Freedom?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know actually. I just assumed. Am I wrong? Is the AE farmin g just as bad on other servers?
[/ QUOTE ]
I know on Infinity the Atlas AE is almost always packed, as well as the Cap AE. Probably not as 'bad' as it is on Freedom (haven't been on Freedom ever, but from how everyone's gone on and on and on about it on the forums, I'm assuming its pretty bad) because there aren't as many people total...but there's definitely a presence in the AE. -
Something to play around with at work, no, not a good way to do it. Something that most would probably consider not very useful might be able to rigged up fairly easily, but unless you were happy with a program that let you play with the text versions of the files through a basic UI of some sort without any graphical display of what it actually looks like, I'm 99% sure that you'll be out of luck for a long time.
The closest someone outside of paragon studios could reasonably get would to take a TON on screen shots of each different costume piece in all the color combinations and show them one by one. Would be a big pain in the butt, not to mention time consuming, for the display to show a combination of pieces on a character without access to the devs engine for rendering the characters and costume pieces...WAY more patients and time than I would ever have trying to line up various pics up manually for it. Then there's maintenance of the program after that to keep it up to date.
I'm sure that the devs COULD rig something up where they could just have the costume creator as a separate application so we could play with them just like the regular game, but it would take a decent amount or resources and testing that I'm sure they have things that a lot of the players would consider higher priority for the actual game to work on.
