    Vanguard LVAS

What'd be nice is to have a wearable VAS.

Now, I know Vehicles as, say, travel powers are technically impossible as of right now.
    However, Shape-shifting is not. And my proposal for that'd be thus;

The LVAS would be a scalled down, stripped down version of the HVAS, maybe without the frontal armour and, essentially, having a cockpit area. So, slightly larger than Granite Armour or Dwarf Form, but still small enough to fit through doors and such. (Maybe with a tad of clipping. It doesnt kill anyone!)
The LVAS would be be either a self-contained toggle-power, or a clicky transform power. Either version would be unslottable.
The LVAS would either have all the HVAS powers with a slight scale down on power, or slightly different power selections.
    For now;

    Light Vanguard Assault Rig
Set ammount of HP, Regen, Recovery and Res. Exclusive to other armours

Plasma Blast: Moderate damage (Energy). A single shot with one of the rigs arm mounted Plasma Cannons.

Plasma Barrage: High Damage (Energy), - Regen. A high powered volley of Plasma fire, that deals high damage and slows regeneration.

Frag Grenade: Moderate Damage AoE (Smash/Fire), Knockback. A standard MkIII Frag from the Grenade launcher mounted on the back of the LVAR.

Seeker Drones: Disorient, -DMG, -ACC, -Perception, Low DMG(Energy). Two seeker drones deployed from the back-mounted rack.

Air-Bomb: High Damage (Fire) DoT, Knockback. A large explosive round fired from the back-mounted launcher. Slow recharge but good damage.

So. Just my idea. Would need building and animating and all that schtick. But more useful than a 9999 cost pet that does nothing. We get them for free with vet rewards.

Sounds "EPIC" if you catch my drift?
  2. I caught alot of heat by saying it, but I still stand by the idea the in PvP there should be no enhancements or set bonuses, just powers and inspirations. Everyone likes to say you need skill to PvP, but beyond a basic understanding of how powers work, it just aim and shoot. I think levels should still matter as a way of understanding that a level 12 shouldn't go against a level 50. I would PvP because I want to fight a creative and interesting character outside of the regular PvE NPCs.

    The Accolades

I am a character creator and I only use accolades if they fit the character. I have a couple of characters that seek out all objects of mystic power, so getting the magic accolades makes sense.

    Slow stacking

Does the - recharge in slow powers stack?

Less hassle when creating your characters (SOs especially, initially at least, are a swine to fully slot with.)
Being able to swap IOs that you need on other characters TO the other characters, with less hassle.
    ...Yeah.
What it is is a slippery slope. It would also be easier if we could have the option to start all our characters at 50 so we wouldn't have the hassle of actually playing the game to get all the powers we want.
  7. Not a bad idea, also advertise many of the NC Soft sponsors.

    Winter 2010

Remember when they froze all the lakes and ponds? I wish they would bring that back, it was fun and wintery.
  9. I sure would be nice if you could use one level 50 character to finance all your other characters. Then you can flood the market with all your unwanted crap, always buy the best enhancements for all your characters. In other words...no.
  10. If anyone is in need of a desparate overhaul it's Positron. His armor is so Mark I.

And yes, it'd be great if we could get the equivalent of Ozzy doing the WoW ad and get someone (or multiple someones) doing COH commercials.

    In fact...

If there are 'famous' people on here who are willing to lend themselves to a video (I promise not to 'out' your characters), PM me. I'm dead serious. I'll make the damn ad myself.

Base portal...but that equals 2 load screens, when you can reach the tram you need in zone, and just go through 1 load screen.

A nice idea that could be purely optional, would be to have a 5th power added onto the travel pool powers.

Lvl 20 to unlock, have to have the 2nd tier power unlocked (Fly, Super Jump, Teleport, Super Speed)...that you click and instantly takes you to the zone of your choice.

Fly can fly straight up and disappear.

Super Speed can run for a few yards and then dissappear.

Teleport would do a teleport animation.

Super Jump would have them jump high into the air and dissappear.

Can say it doesn't work in missions.
Along the same lines is the idea I had a while back about simply traveling in a particular direction and when you get to a blue barrier, you zone to the nearest-most zone in the direction of your travel.
  13. A simple request. Can we away from the bubble shape when it comes to the damage resist shields of the War Shades and get something more form-shaped?

  15. This issue has been around for sometime, but I thought I would air it out again. Large and Banded gloves are the only way to get large hands which seem to be the more appropriate looking hands if you want to create a huge character. The same seems to be with the boots, but it's not so apparent.
  16. I dont think anyone is "a bad person" or any other made up derogatory title if they have to use a "." or "-" to get the name they want. I think the point is these folks want others to ignore the "." or the "-" as if it isnt part of their name. I am more than happy to call a character "Double X Starman Double X" if they are fine with using "xX Name Xx". If your name isn't as important to your character, thats fine play the game as you see fit, but to tell me your name is Starman and not "Double X Starman Double X" when it clearly is, is not a short coming on my part.

Furthermore, a solo player should be able to complete 80% or more of their own missions without outside help while set to standard difficulty.

Is this baseline too low, or are you measuring by a different metric, such as xp per hour?
The fact that everyone bases how good or bad a character is on how they play at level 50 has always been a problem for me. On the one side, people say you can play an empath Defender to 50 solo, but as soon as your standing in front of an EB and you've been killed a half-dozen times, these are the same people that tell you you need to get a team.

Team-play should be an alternative way of playing, not the only way. I am still an advocate of "zero-sum" measure of abilities where every AT is able to meet the "3 minions = 1 Hero" goal, but each in they own way.
  18. There are so many advertising possibilities for this game, it makes me sad that I am still explaining it to COMIC BOOK FANS! People who read superhero comic books have never heard of this game after six friggin years! I have this image in my head of a scene in down town city (New York???). People going about their daily affairs when suddenly there's an explosion off in the distance and all of a sudden the business man getting his morning paper bursts into flames and flies off; the taxi driver eating a beagle turns into a giant stone golem and lumbers off into the distance; a young family walking in the park stops, the wife kisses her husband as her eyes begin to glow with electrical energy. The scene fades and you see the City of... logo and under it, it says "Where Anyone Can Be a Hero!"

    I can only dream

Practically speaking, you get rewards for two things in a mission - objectives and enemies. However, by and large, objectives give pitiful rewards and the end-of-mission bonus, while nice, is very small. The bulk of the experience gained in a mission comes from enemy defeats, which makes stealthing missions actually PENALISE you with less experience.

I'm not sure how I'd make a stealth mission, myself, but it wouldn't be just something that rewards you for not fighting. Stealth, as we have it, is either on or off for the majority of the game. Just turning on, say, Greater Invisibility (or Hide) and running around an instance is not something I'm prepared to dole out big rewards for. There would have to be some kind of mechanic which made sneaking around actually involving, with raised alarms, too much killing and so forth penalising the final reward. I'm not sure the game is currently capable of anything decent in this vein, however.
The funny thing is the mechanics is all there. Stealthing would be the easiest by simply giving cumulative rewards for making it to certain objectives (glowies), while avoiding pop-up turrets, land mines, or laser alarms all of which are already in-game. Those AT without +perception and stealth would simply get a temp power to get them through, but those that are stealth-oriented would naturally be better at completing the mission.
  20. There are so many ways CoX could solve this problem by creating missions with different objectives. For example, a mission where you have to support a squad of Vanguard, by buffing, healing, and tagging them for rez when they fall in combat, or a mission where you get XP for avoiding contact with the enemy and gather information without getting caught? And before you say "well how can you do missions like that without the needed powers?" I say, temp powers like we already get like the costume stealths.

    Jewelry

Im playing one of my characters that is supposed to wear a charm as her magic power and I have had to use the chest detail and the loose neckchain to create it. I wanted to do the same for a male character, but the same emblem is huge on his chest. The whole think got me thinking about jewelry again and how a few necklaces, bracelets, ankle bracelets, and rings would make nice accessories for many costumes.
  22. I thought I read somewhere BaBs said BS couldn't generate enough fury for Brutes to be effective. I could be wrong though.
