Quote:We also manage costumed supervillains in Safeguard missions.I think it is because the existing groups are designed to work as a whole already and are the easiest thing to insert into tip mission #25 of 150... if you know what I mean.
Splitting them into individuals and mixing and matching is almost always a bad idea (and usually the source of the latest AE exploit). You really have to know what you are doing and test out the wazoo to make sure a random collection of individuals can do the job properly. All things considered I think they made the right decision. -
Quote:The idea is also that the Devs know the numbers and would know how to make groups and costumed villains that are not really outrageously difficult. The game is already harder. Had Praetoria been the first thing I saw as a new player, I would not be here right now I promise you. I cannot get behind the idea of the developers making existing NPCs "custom;" one reason I avoid AE is because of NPCs being made stupidly hard, and then you get a reduced reward on top of increased difficulty. That is not how you motivate me, can't speak for everybody but then look at your average AE building and how many people are in it.
Anyone wanting custom NPCs please repair to the nearest AE building ASAP. I don't want "custom" NPCs infiltrating regualr gameplay any more than they already do.
We have tools in place so that players can make things stupidly difficult for themselves, if they have the desire to. Please do that and leave the overall game-world alone for the rest of us. -
I had hoped that that the new system would mean we would see a plethora of new Costumed Heroes and Villain NPCs, but that has yet to materialize.

I think this is the problem with the CC. It only has a skin color option where we would also need a skin "type" option as well where everything else would simply layer on top.

Quote:If there's one thing I take pride of in my forum posting history, it's convincing David Nakayama that at least a muscular skin texture for women would be a good thing
The last I heard from him, he said it was something they were willing to look into, but never gave a definitive time line, which causes me to guess a couple of years, at least.
That said, I'm still very much in favour of this and I don't oppose suggesting it. In fact, I have a couple of new "tweaked" pics to share just for the occasion:

Those are AWESOME! Since we can tweak the size of our shoulders, hips, and chests, these textures make it perfect for creating a true Warrior Woman. -
It's time again to bring up the need for a muscular female model-type.
A little example of what I mean. As it is, we have super models that are supposed to look like warriors. -
The point is not every power-set combination is not going to be successful at every encounter. The content isn't "easy", you just have the right tools to do it. Every the "don't stand and fight" advise isn't going to work if you can take a few shots before dying. If you can say every one of your characters can take Trapdoor easily, then good for you, but I suspect that isn't the case. I took him with my Dark/Dark Defender with plenty of blues and reds, but my tank had to find a team, even after fighting him in the lava. Tell ya what, I won't call it too hard if you don't call it easy.
-
The guy is still a slug-fest. If you don't have the DPS up front, or the Immob to lock him in the lava, your screwed. After two clones, there's no stopping him and he does clone faster after being attacked.

I would choose the last hour. With the cumulative knowledge of the universe, I can surely figure out how to exist past it's end.

Sometimes I wish "support" ATs were a more self-focused on buffs with an added buff-others slant. As it is, it's the opposite where they are focused on buffing other with a buff self slant. As all the ATs become more powerful through the Incarnate System, it would make more sense to see some sort of shift.

I want to take this time to add that it would be cool if our powers had a particularly more powerful look to them beyond the basic numbers.

You sir have won yourself an internet...again. -
Most people are doing Lady Grey, Ship Raids, Apex or Tin Mage. I just ran a Dr. Kahn just for giggles and had a blast, but it seems shorter than I remember. Also, anyone know if more Shards drop if the diff is raised?
-
Per-power customization would solve all this.
-
Is it worth respeccing mid level (20-30) characters out of Fitness?
-
This would also allow us to custom-tailor our career to our specific origin, if we so chose.

SPOILER ALERT:
It would seem that we are the most powerful being in the universe, but I would suggest the difficulty of defeating the various echoes be proportionate to the opponent. It took me just as long to defeat Positron as it did Statesman, as it did the Crystal Titan. I think I should be able to be able to brush aside Statesman or Lord Recluse's flunkies like so much dust.It should be very similar to Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet. -

Wow! Hammi raids go back to the top of the list again!
-
Too bad there's no Superman-style change of clothes emote.
-
The problem is dedication. Most people don't have it. You need a snipers patience to silently follow a target for weeks, an OCD's attention to detail when gathering evidence and a willingness to give up everything for the mission.

IM wired to my modem and I am still seeing it. Is there a ping test to check my through-put?
