Top notch special effects for movie which has a lead actor that I highly doubt people are sure he can carry a film yet. Nothing in the trailer makes me believe he can. I actually looked up the 2001 version because I thought it was deemed a huge flop. It made 362mill worldwide. Oops.
Makes me wonder why they waited 10 years to do another one.

Cold, or Dark. /dark would be a good secondary, but you might look at /sonic because it will help smooth out Elec being so AoE based and it will bump up the ST damage.

Quote:Seeds in on a short timer due to how much Plant relies on the power for it's control. Strip away MC on a Mind controller and it still does fine.Definately say go with Earth anything but trick arrow. Simply because it takes too long to setup all those arrows to do what another powerset can do in only 1 power. As for as mind control goes I would not bother with it on a controller. Maybe on a dom since you get a damaging secondary that way. The real problem in the set is how sleeps are handled in this game and mass confuse being on way too long on a timer compared to say Seeds of Confusion. I know the whole because it causes no aggro bit but thats kind of pointless if the mobs are confused anyways. There is no reason why mass confuse couldnt be an every spawn power like the way seeds of confusion is.

Pretty much any. Both sword sets will add in def to help be sturdy. Claws has FU to help boost the damage of the auras and has solid AoE itself. You just need to not be wreckless with Shockwave. Spines doesn't really need help from a secondary in terms of a damage aura since it has one, but 2 is better than one. Which secondary just depends on what you want to emphasize on. Higher damage, but squishier? /fire. Sturdy, but higher end cost? /dark. Lack of end issues, but nothing standoutish either? /elec. /fire and /dark likely benefit the most from IOs.

Not sure the current price tag for GR in it's different forms, but Steam did have it as part of their holiday sale. Not that you want to wait long enough for it to come around again, but I'm sure there will be deals out there for it. A quick look shows Amazon has it for 29.99. You can get a 60 day card combo deal for about $55 so you are getting GR about $10 considering you are getting 3 months of game time along with it.

Croatoa's end xp bonus for arc completions is abnormally large. Granted, one of the arcs includes the infamous "30 Fir Blog" mission. Red Cap bosses hit like a Mac truck so melee types can have issues with them. Still, four contacts in the 25-35 range that offer a nice setting and change of pace from the rest of the game. The stores offer bad exchanges rates so take an extra minute, or so and sell outside of the zone. Why it was done that way and continues to do so is beyond me.
Side note, just by doing any arc you also get merits for it. You can use Oroboros, or the one base item to get old arcs.
Freakshow use to be abnormal in the amount of exp they gave likely due to the fact that they rez, but that was tweaked. I still think they give out rather decent exp though.
Run missions on x8 even if you don't have 8 members. 6 people should be able to handle x8 fairly easy and the exp would be a factor of 1.3+ versus the normal 1.0.
For solo play, any character that can stealth missions can load up on missions that isn't a defeat all and just do the minimum. This will counter the lack of exp for killing everything with getting more mission completion bonuses in a short period of time. There is a day job that let's you get additional exp for every mission completed. Blueside, log out in a police station to earn the day job for it.
It's been ages since I've done this, but I do remember running missions in PvP zones and those gave recent return on them. Granted, I know for at least one zone you fought Arachnos, who aren't the easiest to take down, so I would rank it rather low. -
Ice Storm and Blizzard are at blaster levels as well. Even if redraw is rather small, it still kind of bugs me. I would lean towards Ice overall, but that might also be in part because way back in the day when I use to play the Marvel RPG, I had a Darkforce and Ice based character.

Just give it a light blue tint and you'll be fine. While it's early, I think I might like KM on stalkers the most, but scrappers would be like 1B. /sr I think fits the concept best for secondary.

Quote:Well, I did take some time to think more on this and I don't think Reactive is the no brainer pick for me as originally thought. One reason is I'm way more into concept than what's uber. For a number of builds the Fire DoT makes no sense whatsoever. A number of builds do play well with the other ones as well. I think in my head the -end one will go well with my Kin/elec. The -dmg one would be good for my Claws/regen because less incoming damage means less need to regen, or click heal. I think a KM/sd with it would be rather nice with all of the -dmg it brings.Well if you would like some incentive here is some. Say you and one or two other people have the same interface tree slotted. The thing about the debuffs is its a global debuff that only stacks about 5 high. Now, thats no just from you but from all players. Granted while you may be able to keep the bonus stacked it would be better if other players had the other bonuses to gain the maximum effect. Now, if everyone on a team has the same interface (while unlikely) would be less effected that an equal team with varied interfaces slotted.
Granted, there is no absolute way to slot these things. Its just an individual choice that you have to make. I went with Reactive myself but mostly for the fire tick cause I already have -res. However, I did give serious thought to the -dmg/def or -regen/tohit. The only thing that I didn't care for was the -slow/reach but that still works for some, just not me.
However, this argument validity in a solo environment so you have to look at that too. -
I can't e-mail myself and I'm not even getting warnings unless they are in a tab I'm not looking at. Thankfully I don't need to do the e-mail for something that is cross server, but at some point I will be and would rather like to have this issue taken care of.

Total level 50s: 5
Total Alpha slots unlocked: 0
Total Incarnate Trials done: 0
I did play my low level Shield/ss tank last night though. -
At least added it to my wishlist. I have bigger purchases planned out for the year, so this has to wait. Well, if my job search for a better job works out, then I can add it in.

In other words, he'll get the chance to direct movies, but it will be on a short leash. I think he does well with a good source for material, but this was vastly his baby and it flopped because of it.

Quote:I remembered this just after I posted. Dark is going to be hurt by something like this as well. Yes, Dark beings the debuffs, but FS is a big part of it's mitigation. My point is while Ill is hurt the most, I don't see where the devs are targeting it.Mind control has never been seen as overpowered by anybody. And if so, it certainly isn't represented in the character population. Heck, just look around the forums. MOST threads are going to be about Fire, Illu (usually coupled with rad), and Plant. Go in-game and tell me how many mind controllers you run into compared to other controllers.
Anyway, the no-fear effect hurts illu MORE because fear is only one tool in mind's AoE arsenal (mass hyp, total dom, TK, and Mass Confusion -though that's useless here, too). Fear is Illu's ONLY AoE option outside of a Hold. Also, Minds fear does damage, so it's good for at least that. -
Quote:I'll just point out i20 was released recently with a good amount of end game content since logic doesn't seem to be a strong point for you.You were saying about Freedom not being overpopulated??? It's completely full right now, as in no one else can get on Freedom. Not down, there's no maintenance right now, just full. Not the first time this has happened either but it is the first time without there being some sort of event going on like Double XP weekend and/or free account reactivation.
-
Thank god we are allowed to play on more than one server.
P.S. Freedom is my main server as well, so don't tell me how you can't play elsewhere, etc... -
Quote:+1. I've gone from a hardcore support player to one who solos, and from one who takes ST based sets to rolling AoE based ones. Outside of a few ST based ones for certain reasons, AoE is where it's at. I have a hard time rolling a "defense" set that doesn't boost damage in some way. Even if my Spines/elec is only 21, I can't foresee me going back to ST based sets unless I'm playing a hardcore character, or there is an obvious synergy between the sets. Hardcore being if they die, they are done. If I'm going to play MA, there better be a damage aura, or /shield involved. The appeal to other sets is MOAR damage and killing stuff faster. While MA has very good single-target damage, my katana and broadsword scrappers can do more in a single hit than my MA scrappers can. And when it comes to AoE, there's no comparison. Fire sword circle on a group of enemies is immensely satisfying, and Lightning Rod is just a blast. I've been reworking my electric melee/shield defense scrapper over the weekend, I ran a whole bunch of missions solo and teleporting into a mob and having them all drop dead (Lightning Rod, Shield Charge, Fireball) -- well, MA can't touch that.

Do you have to summon the pet to get the level shift?
-
Also note the def cap for the new trials is 59%. If you have 45% def, you are in for a surprise. A large number of people with a bunch of influ/infamy put into their builds are regularly faceplanting on the new trials. If you are getting your butt handed to you, really don't be surprised. There's a reason you are given rewards even if you fail the trial.

It depends on the Kin, but the one that helps with end drain I'll assume is nice for Kin/elecs. If I could motivate myself enough to dust off my main and do the Incarnate stuff with her that's where I would go there. I'm indifferent to the -dmg one. A Kin can hit the -dmg cap by themselves on a single target so while it will help to hit the cap for an AV, it's just getting there quicker. For a normal mob, that's where the most benefit will come. Anything that can help with not getting mezzed and defense in general is a godsend to any Kin. I'm ignoring the new Incarnate stuff and waiting until enough info comes out before I piece together what I want to do with it.

Quote:Being soft capped isn't so important if you have perma PA. Sure, it's nice to have, but PA's taunt should get the vast majority of things away from you. Add in Deceive and using it even while invisible.Too bad about the mezz protected Illusionists with soft capped defenses and reliable single target Containment blowing anything Ill/Rad or Ill/Cold has ever done out of the water.
PS I can't be the only person waiting to see if the devs will make the mistake of releasing a single target immob temp power, thereby doubling the damage of Illusionists in AV fights.
Plant suffers nearly the same issues. The only difference really is lack of AoE containment for Ill. Give that to Ill and suddenly AoE epics become much easier to pull off. Ill only has Flash to set up AoE containment and that's on a long recharge. Something like Ill/rad, or /ta can use a 2nd AoE hold, but that's still not that great for consistent AoE output. For my own Ill, ST damage really isn't an issue. It's not to begin with due to the pets, but I have RI to debuff def and vet attacks to add in the damage. -
I already mentioned this on the defender fourm, but there's no way in hell I'm keeping SB on everybody. Let's not forget Kins get ID as well. I'm not coming there to be a pure buff bot.

- If you are trying to make influence/infamy to IO out your toons your best bet is playing the market. Seriously. Go to the Market Forum for information. There are several guides people have written on how to go from 0 - 2billion in a matter of weeks playing causally. No farm build will beat the inf/hour made on the market. None. Slot "Lack of Patience" with three EndMods.
- If you are insistent on making a farming build go roll a SS/FF Brute nao. No joke. With very little investment it can farm itself to 50. Its raw influence/hour rates will leave even the best of IO builds in the dust even the notoriously famous Fire/Kin.
Seriously.
