I know it's not good enough to win my way back, but I'm not too proud to ask for suggestions on what I can do to get it that much closer. If I remember properly, BABsy is a Natural Tanker without powers. I think that his extra OOOMPH! comes from his wristbands.

Meanwhile, in an ultra-top secret base located *somewhere* within the omniverse, a masked woman is holding the paw of a kitten who is on life support ...!

The black cat approached the Two-Six building, sniffing the air as he drew closer and continuing to do so as he padded silently around the perimeter of the edifice. He had faithfully performed the ritual every day for the last several months, but, once again, the scent of his friend, known to the Furless Ones as "Amerikatt" was but a fading memory.
For a moment, the electric charge of hope coursed through him, but then he realized that the new scent was neither fully feline nor Furless One, and his spirits sank even more quickly than they had arisen.
There had been no word from his friend -- nor her Human partner -- and he had to once again fight back the feeling that they had both met with an untimely demise.
Perhaps tomorrow would yield something new.
He turned around and returned from whence he came. -

Stuck for an idea? How about ... this?!
A momcat, heavy with child, finds shelter in a cave and delivers a single live birth.
Some time later, the playful kitten is exploring the cave and gets lost, eventually finding the cavern in which lies the Well of the Furries.
The kitten laps up some water and finds herself possessed of powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal kittens.
Using her newfound powers to find her way back to her Mom, the kitten watches in horror as a freak cave-in traps her Mom. Though she eventually digs her Mom out of the rubble, she is unable to save her. The grief-stricken kitten swears a solemn oath to protect the innocent, saving others as she was unable to save her Mom.
Thus is born ... AMERIKATT! -
