  1. By all accounts I should be free for some serious suicidal Hamidon-action on Coldest War.
  2. Fire/Rad and Fire/Kin could work as well. I mean, more monkeys never hurts anyone, and once FSs start, it'll be nice.
  3. Aye. Can't wait for all you deviants to transfer here so we can get some PVP to RV
  4. More like: You are alone in the PvP zone, a few more villains come in, you chat about the weather and lack of heroes over broadcast. You send a "more heroes to RV" message to the Arena chat, get some wisecrack response, continue broadcast chatter for a while and go away bored.

    PVP video

Who was that scrapper, I'm sure I've seen him around the other zones as well?
  8. Well, as I'm about to go to sleep, I'll comment on only one thing and leave the rest (like the fact you need interruptreds in the heal) to the others

Why fire mastery? Bonfire isn't really worth that selection (even if it is excellent vs. Heavies and bringing out Stalkers). Char is the cream of the crop power from Fire - a fast-activating hold. But as you haven't taken the Ice primary's holds, taking Fire mastery isn't a really good choice, tbh. (Rise of the Phoenix is a fun power for zonal pvp, but again, it's not in your selection, so it's not a reason enough to pick fire)

Ice Mastery will get you a lot further - the shield is good (ice is more common in pvp than fire, in my opinion), snow storm is excellent with the rest of the slows you're spewing and Hibernate isn't that horrible when teamed with other people who can bail you out when things seem bad.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Invun/SS (due to rage and Unstopable)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Fun PvP toon, suffers a bit from the lack fo non S/L damage, but works nice in PvP. Shame that the +defense powers that really make the primary shine in PvE don't help that much in PvP.

    [ QUOTE ]
Ice/Fire Blaster (due to the meele range damage from fire and -spd -rech from ice)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Ice has a great attack chain from Ice Blast, Ice Bolt and Bitter Ice Blast, can't really comment on the usefulness of Fire secondary in PvP, as I don't have any of those, but I'll vouch for the Primary.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Dark/Psi (support PvP toon)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Again very nice combination, Dark suffers from the fact that Tar Patch is placeable, but it's not a horrible defect. Psi's bad side is that it doesn't have an Aim-type power in it. But beyond those, both the primary and the secondary are wonderful.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Kat/SR Scrapper

    [/ QUOTE ]
SR scrappers are eaten alive in Warburg by blasters, but as Villains don't have that much +tohit, they have better shot at RV. Katana's downside is the lack of non-S/L damage and range, but it's a nice and fast combo.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Nin^2 Stalker

    [/ QUOTE ]
it's a stalker. you said you want something other than a stalker, don't pick this

    [ QUOTE ]
    Fire/Dark Corr

    [/ QUOTE ]
Again, Dark is great fun, and fire works in great synergy with that. Sadly, they work a bit better in PvE than in PvP when put together, but I can't see this combination being inherently bad in any way.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Dark/Elec Brute

    [/ QUOTE ]
Electric Armor is pretty popular and Dark offers good crowd control ability. I don't have personal experience, but I've seen these around and they look quite good.

My biased 0-10 scale on the toons:

    Invun/SS 8
    Ice/Fire 9
    Dark/Psi 8
    Kat/SR 7
    Nin^2 0
    Fire/Dark 7
    Dark/Elec 9

I'd probably use the Blaster or the Brute myself, but all of them are pretty good combos, some bit more beginner-friendly than others and have strengths and weaknesses built in them. The Kat/SR for example has to have a damn tight build to work well in PvP, Inv/SS is all fun and games until you run into a contoller or a dominator or something like them, etc.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
Hmmmm, list of characters I should avoid having on my TF teams please? Dont like the idea of someone saying "Yeah my build annoys teams but you're stuck with me now"

    [/ QUOTE ]

The fun part about a Storm/Psi with maximal KB/Repel build is that the team will be horrified at it for about 1 mission, then realize that they're being kept alive by it (usually after a teamwipe that happens when the stormie goes afk), and adapt to the fact that KB/KD/KU/Repel is good and shouldn't be shunned from. In a TF environment this is easier to accomplish than in a regular pug-team

The only people who will really hate you are Herding tanks, but I have always hated those, so it balances out.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
(Don't worry, I only 'Bite' in Recluses Victory, and even then its more of a compassionate nibble .)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which reminds me, where on earth have you been, haven't seen you choking around RV in a long while...?
  12. Storm/Psi is great

    Psi Tornado rocks.

Also, you can get around the "lot of soloing" part by volunteering to go on task-forces. People don't dare to kick you out even if you are knockbacking, knockdowning and knockuping every single thing in a Room of Death.

(Mental Joe, my lv 30 storm/psi currently has 6 knockback/down/up powers I think)
  13. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

On a side note in case anyone doesnt know, domination pwns TK as its comprehensive mez and has repel res

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didnt understand what you are trying to say here, can you clarify?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Domination (Dominator inherent power) grants both Mez and Repel protection/resistance, thus it "pwns" TK (aka. Telekinesis)
  14. [ QUOTE ]
It's gonna cost me shitloads since recipes for some reason on union cost 500% more then on other servers but getting there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You do know that the Auction House is shared between servers? IOs on Villain side just cost a lot more than they do on Hero side.

Is this build for PvP or PvE?
  15. Shave slots off Build Up and buy Recharge/Tohit Hami-Os there

Is this the monster build I had to face on test btw or did you change something?

    Dominator Advice

Mind/Fire is the FotM in the US at the moment, Mind/Ice is that in the EU side I think. I personally find Fire/Ice incredibly fun and powerful in zonal pvp with more damage dealing capability than Mind/.

Plant/ is generally regarded as the weakest primary, /Energy the weakest secondary.

Fire/ has fast control and Fire Imps. Grav/ and Ice/ both offer neat tricks and movement reduction for those moments when suppression kicks in (and both have a good pet as well), Mind/ offers an incredible array of various forms of Control, especially Telekinesis. Plant/ has some problems (long activation hold that requires the target to be on the ground), but when used with skill, it rocks your socks off.

/Ice is a good secondary if you want to focus on "hold-then-damage", /fire if you want to go "damage-then-damage-some-more", /thorns when you realize Dominators are a bit lacking in the ToHit department. /Psi rocks AoE-wise and thus is great for team-type PvP. And /Energy offers some additional control in the form of the Stuns, but suffers from long activation times and poor secondary effect in half the attacks (knockback, which just doesn't rock that much).
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Just don't say you are making a plant/fire next.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm a bit torn at the moment how to mix plant/ and grav/ with /fire and /psi Was thinking grav/psi next, which would mean plant/fire at some point. But I still have to level up the ice/nrg to at least SC levels before I start another domi
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Oh gee. When I say that Doms don't need Aid Self in PvP it's wrong. When you say it it's Good Good McGood.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're answering it yourself:[ QUOTE ]
By the way, any particular reason to go /Nrg instead of /Ice? Repetition of sets perhaps?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm building one of my 3 domis as a recharge (Ice/Nrg) build, one as an accuracy (mind/thorns) build and one as a holder-build (fire/ice, holds granite tank + rooted atm wihout IOs). The fire/ice and mind/thorns are the serious pvp builds, the ice/nrg is made for two reasons - 1) it's a concept build, follows on the footsteps of my old S4-tournament toon General Gamma (Ice/Nrg fotm blaster) and 2) I don't want to sacrifice the specialities of the other two to get perma-hasten on them

    [ QUOTE ]
Whirling Hands could be replaced with the Snipe for an even bigger +recharge bonus, too.

The last Devastation in Power Blast could be replaced with Accuracy/Dam/Rechg to get more mileage out of it.

Entropic Chaos on Power Bolt... I would swap those Entropics with more Decimation

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ooh, good points

    [ QUOTE ]
Hope you have a good character to farm up all that infamy to buy all that hehe

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wish I did, my main is still missing IOs. But by the time I get this to 50, I might have more money and the prices might have gone down

    [ QUOTE ]
-Edit- you wouldn't exactly have perma-hasten yet, your current build would make Hasten's recharge just a tiny tiny bit over 120 seconds. Switching Whirling Hands with Sting of the Manticore would make it a little bit under 120 seconds.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mids' showed a 119,8 recharge for me before the changes, 119,4 after. Perma enough for me

  22. One of these more obscure builds again.

Gamma Patient, previously known as General Gamma of the Army of Lovers. Perma-Hasten/Perma-Domination build. Lacks in self-preservation (so no Solo PvP with this), but should work well with a corruptor pairing. Should be able to just spam hold like there is no tomorrow.
